Minor edits
editHi Contributers2020! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Fast.com
editHi! I noticed that you wrote some content on Fast.com. However, that page is a redirect, and readers will not usually see it. I don't think Fast.com is notable enough to have a standalone article, so I have removed your text there. If you want, you could probably expand the "Products" section of the Netflix article (Netflix#Products), but the line it already has about Fast.com is probably enough. --rchard2scout (talk) 11:14, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
@Rchard2scout:Its completely fine. I thought that maybe they will come across this empty article so instead filled it up. Moreover, I admit that the text was so bad grammatically. Let it be a redirect page only. --Contributers2020Talk to me here 11:38, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

- 331dot, thank you for notifying me about the discrepancy. I have successfully put up a global username change request, but it may take time since I have filed for usurpation. Contributers2020Talk to me here 03:33, 13 April 2024 (UTC)

Indur Ramphul moved to draftspace
editThanks for your contributions to Indur Ramphul. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and those sources should be reliable and independent of the subject. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 02:24, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Significa liberdade, these are my reasons to think that this action is unjust:-
- -The person is having no mentions whatsoever on anywhere other than the Bank of Mauritius's website, despite being a respected Governor of the Bank Of Mauritius.
- -This person is very well known, however is not documented since of the times.
- -I understand your concern about one source, but many articles coexist with that tag and especially this should apply here since the source is a "department" of a government.
- (P.S. - Reply is from a mobile. Apologies for any error) Contributor2020 (talk) 05:47, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, Contributor2020-- Thank you for voicing your concerns. If you believe the article meet's Wikipedia's notability guidelines for biographies, you may move the article back to the main space. You may also submit it for further review through Articles for Creation by clicking "Submit the draft for review" on the draft page. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 13:45, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
editHello Contributor2020! Your additions to Indur Ramphul have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. C F A 💬 00:04, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
- @CFA, please do note all the content that was from bom.mu was appropriately paraphrased as suggested by your own article linked above. I request you to please revert your changes.
- (P.S. - This reply is from a mobile. Apologies for any errors) Contributor2020 (talk) 12:19, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
- No, it was not appropriately paraphrased. Changing or deleting a few words here in there so it doesn't look like a copyright violation is still plagiarism. Please read the policy on close paraphrasing. Regardless, large sections of text were copied-and-pasted in without changing anything. I suggest you try expanding the article again, this time using your own words. Thank you. C F A 💬 17:17, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
