Museum of American Pottery
editThe article Museum of American Pottery has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No evidence of notability
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Khazar2 (talk) 03:26, 24 April 2012 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Cedar Creek Gallery - Creedmoor, NC.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Cedar Creek Gallery - Creedmoor, NC.jpg, which you've sourced to Lisa J Oakley. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 00:57, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Wayward Sons Volume 3, and it appears to include material copied directly from https://forbiddenplanet.com/113585-wayward-sons-volume-3/.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. Speedy deletion nomination of Wayward Sons Volume 1
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Wayward Sons Volume 1 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.diamondbookdistributors.com/downloads/SalesKits/DBD_SEP2014SalesKit.pdf. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Wayward sons -deletion
edit(moved here from my talk) I had 4 pages removed today from "speedy deletion", but the article reference as the source was itself copied from public domain marketing materials (which was provided to all distributors, including the one you referenced)
how do I get the pages reinstated? It seemed to be very hasty and too speedy, it was tagged just a few hours ago and then deleted. -Craig — Preceding unsigned comment added by Craigc73 (talk • contribs) 17:39, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, Craigc73! The pages were deleted because the content was copied from a source that was not Public Domain. You could try asking the admin who deleted them to restore the non-infringing content (if there was any) to you, perhaps via email; in general, copyright-infringing content cannot be restored within Wikipedia, as that would make the admin party to the copyright violation. A better option might be to start again from scratch, perhaps in Draft space (i.e., at Draft:Wayward Sons). You would need to find a number of independent reliable sources that discuss the books in depth in order to establish notability, and to take care not to copy from other pages on the internet. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:19, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
So, if I show that the text is the same on let's say 20 websites (i.e., Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Comics Daily, etc. etc.) and I'm the original source of said text, you won't tag these pages for deletion? Craigc73 (talk) 19:34, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
