Orphaned non-free media (File:Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business (logo).png)

Thanks for uploading File:Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business (logo).png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 16:12, 12 September 2013 (UTC)

Newspapers published in Pennsylvania template

I intended to make {{Newspapers published in Pennsylvania}} daily only, and it appears that I missed some non-dailies. But, I'm not going to fight about including/not including. (I was originally going to make a college newspaper-only one, parallel to {{Pennsylvania college radio}}, but since there wasn't one for regular newspapers, that seemed dumb).--GrapedApe (talk) 04:37, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

State historical markers

You seem to be the most active at Talk:List of Pennsylvania state historical markers, so I thought that I'd pose this question to you. I've been populating Commons:Category:Pennsylvania state historical markers, and, after reading the talk page, I see many of these as a copyright problem. So, are you aware of any effort to ask the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission for a copyright release for photos of their markers? I would guess they might be open to the idea since then we could use these markers to illustrate historic events/places/people.--GrapedApe (talk) 03:27, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

I've got a question about {{Infobox PAhistoric}}, which you very ably wrote. (Nice work, by the way). Curious about why you chose blue background and neon green for the Pennsylvania Historical Marker signification. I would think that it would be blue and yellow, like the state flag. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:UPMClogoGold.png

Thank you for uploading File:UPMClogoGold.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 15:05, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation page

Hello, Crazypaco. When you changed EAGL from a redirect into a disambiguation page, you may not have been aware of WP:FIXDABLINKS, which says:

When creating disambiguation pages, fix all resulting mis-directed links.
Before moving an article to a qualified name (in order to create a disambiguation page at the base name, to move an existing disambiguation page to that name, or to redirect that name to a disambiguation page), click on What links here to find all of the incoming links. Repair all of those incoming links to use the new article name.

It would be a great help if you would check the other Wikipedia articles that contain links to "EAGL" and fix them to take readers to the correct article. Thanks. R'n'B (call me Russ) 13:19, 20 March 2016 (UTC)

I have a question about this edit from a few years back. In the "National championship claims by school" section, it says, "However, all known national championship claims are for seasons in which a National Championship, or share of a championship, was believed to be awarded to that particular school by at least one independent third-party selector." That would be a good thing, if true, since it would mean that no school has made a dubious claim to a national championship not supported by any independent selector. However, the claim is cited to three College Football Data Warehouse pages, which have since been removed as sources due to the closing of that web site, and to this Sports Illustrated article, which doesn't appear to address that issue. (Even if the SI article did support that, it was from 1967 and couldn't reflect the current situation.) So I would like to know if there is still a source that can be used for this statement. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 06:16, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

Sources don't become invalid because they web presence changes or disappears. History has not changed because a website chronicling it has disappeared. Beyond that, CFDW is now back up so your point is moot. I do not understand why the Sports Illustrated article doesn't reflect the current situation. That doesn't make sense at all. It is a historical study and document, like any other, and reflects the contemporary understanding of the sport at the time. CrazyPaco (talk) 18:38, 3 December 2017 (UTC)
My concern is with the SI article. It's being used to support the statement that "all known national championship claims are for seasons in which a National Championship, or share of a championship, was believed to be awarded to that particular school by at least one independent third-party selector" (emphasis added). The 1967 SI article could only reflect what claims were being made as of 1967 by various colleges as to their national championships. How do we know that some colleges might not have retroactively added claims, after 1967, to past championships that they hadn't earned from earlier years? (I'll take a look at the CFDW sources later to see what they say.) --Metropolitan90 (talk) 03:02, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
The SI study and CFDW are complimentary secondary sources that do not entirely overlap. The SI article is specifically cited because it contains selections not included in CFDW's list. I have never seen another secondary source that complied and analyzed selections that were not already included in at least one of these two lists. Therefore, combined, these two lists document the most comprehensive listing of selections that I am personally aware of. Colleges have in fact retroactively added claims in recent years, but such claims have all been included in one of these two lists, if not both. But colleges' own claims aren't necessarily dependent on selections by third parties, at least in theory, as that represents two different concepts (third-party selections and school claims), and in fact many selections aren't recognized by the colleges' themselves. If you know of another secondary source that lists selections not already covered, you should add it. CrazyPaco (talk) 05:26, 4 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of hospitals in Pennsylvania, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Trinity Health (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Talk Pittsburgh Pirates football

Hello, I noticed that MoorePhin and you were in an edit dispute. While I will officially remain neutral in your dispute for the time being, please note that that editor has edited your comments on the talk page. I have reverted said edits. But I will WP:AGF and assume that maybe he/she/they don't understand how talk pages work. But I also think this is something that you need to be aware of.-UCO2009bluejay (talk) 20:53, 19 July 2019 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg Bobcats (emblem).png

Thank you for uploading File:University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg Bobcats (emblem).png.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Proposed deletion of File:Pittartsciencelogo.png

The file File:Pittartsciencelogo.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Commonwealth System of Higher Education, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Lincoln University (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
