The word lede

Here on my own talk page is probably the best place to write this. My word of the day is lede. I've noticed it in edit summaries recently and assumed people were trying to write lead. No! Can't find it in my recent-ish dictionary, but I see now it's in Wiktionary (lede) and there's an article here on lead paragraphs. crpstn (talk) 17:56:10, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

Signature substitution

* [[WP:SUBST|Substitutions]] of templates in signatures is permissible but <u>discouraged</u>, as the template that is substituted may be vandalized without the user knowing.
** Users who choose to substitute their signature are '''required''' to be '''highly vigilant''' of their signature whenever they sign.

Looking at WP:SIG#NT, I see it says substitution is permissible but discouraged. I've got a substituted parser function {{subst:#time:H:i:s, j F Y (e)|now}} in my signature right now, so I'm going to take care to sign with three tildes, as the signature includes the timestamp. crpstn (talk) 18:58:07, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

Same signature here (mobile phone account) signed with three tildes → crpstn² (talk) 19:24:45, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
On the subject of signatures, I don't like the way the two signatures in this thread look in desktop view in this browser, so I've changed mine to a less hideous one. Three tildes coming up...  crpstn  2020-06-07T21:38:29+00:00

Images by the hour

Next up will be 24 images, one for each hour of the day when the page is viewed. This, in turn, may be superseded by 60 images, one for each minute of the hour, though more images will mean more work when it's time to change them.  crpstn²  2.18pm, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
