Cyrus-green
Welcome!
editWelcome to Wikipedia, Cyrus-green! I am Marek69 and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!
Hello. I am curious as to why you made this edit? The source shows that what you inserted was incorrect. I assume that it was just a mistake or something, but I wanted to see if you knew something I didn't. Thanks. Apparition11 Complaints/Mistakes 15:03, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Your image uploads
editHey Cyrus-green. Thanks for uploading so many images, we just have a few questions about them.
- What level of English do you speak? On the English Wikipedia, descriptions should always be in English.
- Users have expressed concern that File:Dr-Khatami.jpg, and other files, which you say are your own work, are in fact not. For this to be true, you must have created the photographs i.e. actually taken the photograph yourself. Is this the case?
- For logos such as File:BM BANK LOGO.JPG, you must have designed them. Is this so?
A quick response would be appreciated. - Jarry1250 [ In the UK? Sign the petition! ] 09:32, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
Copyright problems with File:KNLOGOBANK.JPG
editHello. Concerning your contribution, File:KNLOGOBANK.JPG, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). As a copyright violation, File:KNLOGOBANK.JPG appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. File:KNLOGOBANK.JPG has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.
If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at File talk:KNLOGOBANK.JPG and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) and CC-BY-SA, under CC-BY-SA, or released into the public domain leave a note at File talk:KNLOGOBANK.JPG with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the CC-BY-SA and GFDL, and note that you have done so on File talk:KNLOGOBANK.JPG.
However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 10:29, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- This also applies to the other logos you uploaded. Please stop uploading images until you have read and understood the image use policy and understand that you cannot upload images saying you created them unless you actually did create the image. This is your only warning — given the quantity of images you have already uploaded, if you upload any more images that you should not upload, you will be blocked to prevent further violations of copyright. If you have any questions, please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Stifle (talk) 10:32, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- Some or all of the images you have uploaded have been deleted, or are, or will shortly be, listed on Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images as their copyright data is uncertain. Please go to that page and comment if you are interested in your images not being deleted. Stifle (talk) 10:32, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

Allegations of sockpuppetry
editYou are suspected of sockpuppetry, which means that someone suspects you of using multiple Wikipedia accounts for prohibited purposes. Please make yourself familiar with the notes for the suspect, then respond to the evidence at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Cyrus-green. Thank you. - Jarry1250 [ In the UK? I have deleted the above image, as I also found it here. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and uploading content you have taken from elsewhere as your own work is incredibly damaging to the project. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing. If you believe my action was in error, or you have any questions, please contact me on my talk page. J Milburn (talk) 21:35, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- Looking at your upload log, I see this is not a one off. Is there any reason I shouldn't just delete all of your uploads now? J Milburn (talk) 21:41, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- I have deleted all but a couple of the images you have uploaded, and I have corrected the licensing information on those. I am willing to assume you were merely ignorant of the fact that taking images from elsewhere and pretending they are yours is wrong- if so, I advise you steer well clear of uploading images until you have familiarised yourself with copyright. However, this is your last warning. If you upload another dubious image, I will block you from editing. If you have any questions, you are welcome to contact me on my talk page. J Milburn (talk) 22:01, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
Blocked
editOK, you've had your warnings and you are continuing to upload images without care for copyright or image policies. You are therefore blocked until you undertake to follow the policies, including, but not limited to:
- You must not upload images that are copyrighted unless all of the non-free content criteria are met
- You must provide an exact source for the images you upload; "google.com" and "ghalamnews.ir" are not valid sources, you need a source that specifies exactly where someone can go to find and verify the image
- You must provide a fair use rationale for all non-free images you upload
- You must not upload non-free images of living people or standing buildings.
The reason for this is that it takes administrators a lot of work to go through your uploads and delete those images that should not be here.
If you are prepared to abide by these policies, place the text {{unblock}} on this page and an administrator will consider your request. Stifle (talk) 13:04, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:CBIlogo.png
editThanks for uploading File:CBIlogo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
PLEASE NOTE:
- I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions. If you have a question, place a {{helpme}} template, along with your question, beneath this message.
- I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.
