I just saw your userpage un-redirected, your talk page unblanked, etc. What was going on? If it's anything private, an email would probably work better (if you want to/need to answer). Anyways, nice to see you back! Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) 06:58, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Don't want to nag you, but did you get my recent message about my friend TheRingess? Your page went blank, as you know, and I'm not sure if my message got to you. Please let me know if you didn't get a message about theringess, and I'll leave another one for you. Thanks,

- Yeah, but the thread got archived here. If you wish to continue the discussion, feel free here :) Please note my last response, as I need you to answer that in going forward. Daniel 00:07, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Are you still accepting registrations for VandalProof? There are a lot of people asking for registration and no-one has been registered for a while (User:AmiDaniel/VP/Approval). --carelesshx talk 14:06, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
- Unfortunately, I can't at the moment. See my reply here. Sorry, Daniel 00:12, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hi Daniel, you endorsed the deletion of pfingo on DRV, but the actual article was undeleted as under review during the DRV period and it hasn't been redeleted. Could you please do that? ColourBurst 15:24, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
- Ah, thanks for that. I redeleted it. Cheers, Daniel 00:24, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Did you know? was updated. On 21 September, 2007, a fact from the article Mayslake Peabody Estate, which you recently nominated, was featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Hi, here you didn't approve me for VandalProof. Not only did you not inform me of the fact that I hadn't been approved, as the page said you would, but you ignored my note that I was willing to discuss my blocklog. On that basis, I'm relisting.--Porcupine (prickle me!) 06:56, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
- Firstly, I don't see any note here. Secondly, it is within my own discretion as a moderator to decide who to approve and not to. Thirdly, my apologies for not leaving you a message - the moderator interface is a little tempremental in that regard. I'm sure your application will be reviewed by someone else in due course (see my note immediately below). Daniel 08:01, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hey Daniel. How come you're not approving anyone for VP? The programme looks very helpful and I want to get to use it! :) — jacĸrм (talk) 18:16, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I just saw them play the Roar (yes, a few weeks ago, but somehow I stumbled upon a replay) and considering they're Australian, they're actually pretty good. Almost European. But the Roar will win next time! Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) 08:02, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
- The Roar just lack the ability to score goals, which is kinda not a very good thing for a football team :) Queensland were good value that Thursday night, and in all truth probably deserved a point on the balance of play. Can't wait for the next match-up between CC and QR :) Daniel 08:04, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Further to the issue of TheRingess "stalking" me, I do not agree with Atlan that it all stopped back in March-April. TR has consistently turned up at my articles right up to the latest one, Oakland Ashram, on July 11th.
When I went to MedCAb -- which apparently is not the right forum for these problems, but that's where everyone told me to go -- there were two other issues: 1) that the listing of my article Shakti Mantras for deletion was in violation of policy, which states that if the article can be improved, it should be done through editing rather that deletion, and 2)that TR has a habit of deleting other people's contributions. So the "stalking" wasn't the only issue, but it was the main one.
I will see about pursuing this matter when I've had a little holiday. At this stage all I can say is "thank you" for your time and attention.
Sardaka 10:28, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
- That is true, TheRingess edited your articles right up to July, albeit to a much lesser extent than in March and April. The time at which he showed up also shows that he keeps track of your edits and I can at least understand that that fact bothers you. Keep in mind though, that both your fields of interest include Hindu-related articles and that you can't ban TheRingess from ever editing a Hindu-related article you created. Also, just look at those edits that TheRingess made on Oakland Ashram. He added a reflist and fixed a few links. You constantly cry foul of those perfectly legit edits. At any rate, you have successfully managed to keep TheRingess away from your articles since then, so problem solved if you ask me.--Atlan (talk) 19:11, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
- If I've kept TR away from my articles since then, it may be because I haven't written any articles since then. But my complaints have all been written up in detail at the medCab link on my talk page, so there's no point rehashing it all. You know what my complaints are. At least you're being a bit more civil now. You were almost belligerent before. I was going to send you a message about it, but you've saved me the trouble. I don't see why we can't be on civil terms. At least we communicate, which is more than I can say for some people. (Sorry Daniel, for using your talk page for this exchange.) Sardaka 13:09, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
- I am going to be a little bit WP:BOLD and move all discussion to User talk:Daniel/Sardaka-TheRingess, for a couple of minor logistical reasons. I hope this is OK with everyone. Please continue with discussion there, and I'll be happy to chime in where necessary/opportune. Cheers, Daniel 09:18, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Is their any good reason you protected this template? You protected it because you claimed it was a high risk template, but it has never been vandalised. Also, it should be subst'ed, so it is unlikely that anyone would ever find it and vandalise it. Only a simple revert would be needed to the page if it was vandalised. I see no valid reason for protection under policy: WP:PROTECT#Full_protection. Can you consider at least semi protecting it? Wikipedia is suppose to be the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit, not the free encyclopedia that 851 sysops can edit. CO2 01:37, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
- I also fail to understand why you protected Wikipedia:Mediation Committee/Chair Signature, for the same rationales I listed above. CO2 02:18, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
- I can semi-protect the first one, but the second must be protected fully for bot management reasons - trust me, you don't want to know what would happen if it got vandalised, and I wouldn't say on-Wikipedia anyways as it's a perfect case of WP:BEANS. Daniel 05:16, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your giving the proposal of the informal mediation . I am sorry that connection becomes so slowly. I've had a brief journey. I will answer your question. Both of us can understand English. (Both of us have en.wikipedia account and did some contribute in en.wikipedia.) My opinion to Sys.OP Lonicera is "If there is no intention to process the appeal, please declare that the appeal will be left to other administrators." I leave about actual mediation to you. Hi Daniel, this discussion is still proceeding. I've found a NASA history of the work on geosynchronous orbits. This doesn't mention Dunin at all. His work on these orbits was also published three years after the first one of these satellites was launched. Also a problem with him being described as a "head" of a project at NASA, since this was contradicted later in the article. Have you been able to find any sources that address the questions raised in the AfD? All the best Tim Vickers 17:36, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
- It seems that the article was kept. As the expertise lies outside my field, I'll leave it to the ample number of people on both side of the debate who can also invest more time into the discussion to take this article from here. Cheers, Daniel 09:22, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Daniel, it's restored as requested. There is a link at the very bottom below the project boxes, is it needed? Jimfbleak 10:14, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Can you please adopt me?

recently, when I was reading some article in mainstream media, I noticed that they "sometimes" do add some explanations after or before the "wiped of the map" phrase to alert the reader that the phrase may be result of a mistranslation. for example "politically wiped off the map though he insists that can be accomplished without violence. CNN
the inclusion of some explanation like above was one of the outstanding issues that resulted in edit-wars in past. I have a question: can I add a short explanation to the lead about this? (or even a link to the explanation) can you please re-initiate this topic in mediation.--Pejman47 19:16, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Greetings, Daniel. I'd like to make a suggestion about your signature. Maybe you could have a link to your talk page in it, as it is more practical for others. Just a little suggestion. Anyway, happy editing! Cheers,JetLover (Report a mistake) 02:38, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
- No thanks - no need, and I have a userpage for a reason. If people want to communicate with me, they can make the effort to come via my userpage (a signature is not meant to replicate any of the {{user}} templates). Furthermore, I prefer my signature to be simple, unlike some of the superflous ones I see. Daniel 05:06, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
- Oh yes, and thank you for your question at my ER. Cheers,JetLover (Report a mistake) 03:48, 30 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

- Done. Cheers, Daniel 11:23, 30 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- ForteTuba 00:05, 30 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
would you please visit Talk:Mahmoud_Ahmadinejad#Mediation and give you comment. Avarham has reverted the result of contribution of about 12 users in two weeks, with the rational that mediation is in process --Pejman47 20:35, 30 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
- Yes; and the process needs to be respected. Making the edits that in and of themselves are the very heart of the case is going to undermine the process. I, too, respectfully request that you weigh in on the matter. Thank you. -- Avi 01:53, 1 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
