Yo, Dan. John Vandenberg suggested (on IRC) someone write a Wikinews story about how much news.com.au suck. You wanna write it? Dihydrogen Monoxide 10:13, 16 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'll let you take a look at this diff and decide if it warrants yet another block. At first I was going to be okay with it since it's an AFD on an article he originally tried to have deleted through speedy deletion. But looking at the comment for deletion to "kill with fire and holy water" (etc.) isn't that good for what we're hoping from him...Metros (talk) 19:56, 16 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

A new Request for Mediation has been initiated for the John Howard article regarding the Howard family interests in Copra plantations in New Guinea. Initially, a small number of editors were listed as 'interested parties'. However, the Committee Chair has indicated that a wider group may now be invited to participate. An invitation will now be sent to everyone who has previously commented on the John Howard talk page regarding this subject. If you would like to participate, please place your name at: Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/John Howard. There is also a discussion page regarding this RfM. - Daniel why did you remove my page heading information? Is there some policy or ArbCom decision that says we cannot create welcome-sections on our talk pages? Wjhonson (talk) 07:36, 18 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
- Um, because the edit adding it was deleted/oversighted (because that version had a copy of the email published on it), it would have got lost as collateral damage. Of course there's no policy like that :) Daniel (talk) 07:46, 18 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Template:Clerk-Note-S requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

I have. I don't think you should have protected at all, because the content was changing with each edit. Protection has failed to resolve lengthy disputes relating to this article before. I am also concerned that deletion of material, against consensus and verging on vandalism, has been endorsed by protection. Grant | Talk 09:57, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
everyone would just STOP putting me in a bad light. Just stop, okay? Just stop. Enough's enough. God, people keep dogging me about stuff that happened a friggin' month ago. This is what people are doing to me. They're glorifying the vandals that I request be banned and turn and slap me in the face by bringing up, among other things, my topic ban, which REALLY pisses me off. If anyone-and I mean ANYONE-brings this up again, I quit. --Gp75motorsports REV LIMITER 02:01, 31 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
- You were put on community probation for six months instead of being community banned for six months. The community probation is a matter of public record and, by editing on Wikipedia, you agree to respect it and will warnings when you violate it. If you cannot accept this, then I will put in place the six-month community ban. The decision is yours, basically. Daniel (talk) 02:07, 31 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
- Well I don't know what would be worse-being banned or being ridiculed by the Wikipedia for the rest of my life and eons after. Look at these cotributions. And to think, I'll probably be forever remembered as "Gp75motorsports, the guy who famously reported two users against his topic ban," not as "Gp75motorsports, the editor who fought vandalism for all he was worth." I mean come on, unless I can be allowed to set the record straight, this is a classic RickK story. --Gp75motorsports REV LIMITER 02:36, 31 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
- I think you're overplaying your own importance — it's terribly unlikely you'll be remembered after you leave, if/when you leave, and you certainly aren't the next RickK. You seriously should drop your obsession with RickK (c.f. User talk:RickK and Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/RickK, amongst many others) and stop trying to be like him — when you get obsessed with users, like PeeWee, then you tend to end up on the wrong side of community consensus. Seriously, just edit articles, and stop treating this like a battle between you and vandals; WP:DENY etc. Daniel (talk) 02:41, 31 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

- Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not therapy. We're here to write an encyclopedia, and quite frankly, that is the only true consideration. People are free to edit on Wikipedia regardless of their medical status, provided they stay within the rules, respect consensus, and aren't disruptive. However, their medical condition is no excuse should they break these rules. Daniel (talk) 03:18, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
- (ec) And I've got depression and I don't take it out on Wikipedia. It's not therapy. It's a project. Which means you need to work with people, not suffer from persecution complex at every turn. I'm sorry if I sound insensitive, but that's the way it is. ~ Riana ⁂ 03:19, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
- I agree with Riana, especially with the depression part. I'm also suffering from depression, but I still try to build an encyclopedia. (If I'm being uncivil here, but) Guess what? Even though I'm topic-banned, I don't care. OK? All I do is just improve mainspace, talk, and help users (I'm a little bit over right now), and a few exemptions on my talk page. OK? Deal with it. If you can't, leave and come back as an RTV user, but I don't recommend it. When I first left, I came back, and the first person to see me back was GlassCobra, and had to make a big deal out of it. And what about a 1-second block? —BoL 04:04, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
- I'm telling you all I need to do is be adopted by someone and I'll be good. Unfortunatley a stupid little ban which breaks the United States Constitution prevents me from being adopted. And not to drag him into this, but how come BoL, who is under the same topic ban as I, report users while I can't?! my friend Greenwood1010 is right: "Welcome to the People's Communist Republic of Wikipedia, where power-hungry admins watch everything you do." --Gp75motorsports REV LIMITER 03:25, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
- You are really asking for trouble making comments like that. See WP:RIGHTS about your pathetic "Constitution" argument. And Blow of Light is far less disruptive and far more productive in mainspace compared to you, so quite frankly there is no comparison between the two. He doesn't act like you do when someone tells him that he shouldn't be doing something because of a ban implemented by community consensus, but takes on the advice. As Riana says, drop the persecution complex. Daniel (talk) 03:28, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
- If you feel so strongly about Wikipedia being wrong here's a suggestion. In the top right hand corner of this screen is a link that says "log out". Click it. Then go to Google, Yahoo, your local newspaper. Any website that isn't here. And don't return. If you feel THAT strongly that we're all out to get you, why bother with it? - (ec) And I've got depression and I don't take it out on Wikipedia. It's not therapy. It's a project. Which means you need to work with people, not suffer from persecution complex at every turn. I'm sorry if I sound insensitive, but that's the way it is. ~ Riana ⁂ 03:19, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
- Well if I could get adopted without getting BLOCKED and being FORCED to suck ass and have the community hate me, that would be nice. Come on guys, I've got Aspergers syndrome and Wikipedia is one of my utopias from the ridicule of my classmates. --Gp75motorsports REV LIMITER 03:16, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
- I have to agree with Daniel. "Good editors", which you call yourself, actually do good edits. Your good edits are few and far between. Metros (talk) 03:07, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Come on guys, can someone please help him find someone to adopt him? It's a little harsh following the letter of his topic ban when he just wants some help with his editing. Ryan Postlethwaite 03:29, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
- No, Ryan, he's proven himself that no matter what he does in Wikipedia-space, including vandal-reverting, he creates more disruption. If he wants to stand toe-to-toe with me and start spraying shit in my direction, then I'm not going to hesitate back. Daniel (talk) 03:31, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
- erm, all I was asking was for you to help him be adopted, like he's just asked. Ryan Postlethwaite 03:36, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
- He wants to be adopted so he can "fight" vandals, which part of the idea of the community ban was to lose this whole nonsensical "battle" complex (see the discussion which led to the ban). You don't need a coach to edit articles, in my opinion. However, if he wants to get a coach, fine, he can do it on people's user talk pages (which he is allowed to edit), but comments like the ones in this thread, this, this, and this will just continue his problems. He doesn't want users to mention the fact that he's under community-based topic bans, yet continues to flaunt the terms of the topic ban. Daniel (talk) 03:40, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
- I gave him what I think is pretty good advice about how to be more productive at Wikipedia. His first reply was to tell me that he was very tunnel visioned and couldn't contribute more. After advising him to try and track down sources for articles, he replied that he was too busy racing cars and writing a novel to source articles. Seeing as I'm fairly certain he's a kid and not a race car driving novelist, I've pretty much written him off. He's unwilling to contribute, unwilling to find sources, and not that great at vandal fighting. I really don't know what advice a mentor would give him that I already haven't... and the drama level is just ridiculous. AniMate 03:56, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
- That was the rationale for the community restriction — the most nonsensical part was his response to being limited to contributing to articles, which was described by him as "gnomish shit". The responses at the discussion say it all. Daniel (talk) 03:59, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
- He needs to leave or not leave and shut up. We already have enough drama whores on Wikipedia. John Reaves 05:50, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
