Thanks for uploading Image:Angiephillips.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Unspecified source for Image:Sarah travers1.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Sarah travers1.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 16:11, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Sarah travers1.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: TemplateName. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 16:11, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia! We could really use your help to create new content, but your recent additions (such as Tommorow) are considered nonsense. Please refrain from creating nonsense articles. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

Spam

edit

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in Crazy (Gnarls Barkley song). Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. --Fritz S. (Talk) 10:06, 7 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Scout Law

edit

It is good that you added an entry for Ireland. However this article is about the Scout Law, not mottos, the Promise etc, so I have deleted those. Please add them to the appropriate articles. Your reference also needs fixing. --Bduke 00:19, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have fixed the reference. I have just come across some other edits from you that were on my watchlist. Scout merit badge (Ireland) needs a lot of work. Your link to it on Scout Association of Northern Ireland has no context. It is just in with other stuff. I have moved it to the "See other" section, but I am not sure it is appropriate. Is it for NI or the Republic? --Bduke 02:42, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. The scout merit badge is for both the north and the south, its all one organisation for scouting ireland. (Added by User:Daniel625 to User Talk:Bduke but moved here to keep debate in one place)

Yes, I understand that, but the the Scout Association operating in the north is different, so why mention the merit badge article on their page? Note, please sign your edits on talk pages with ~~~~. --Bduke 21:57, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

AfD Nomination: Angie Phillips

edit

An editor has nominated the article Angie Phillips for deletion, under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the nomination (also see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on why the topic of the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome: participate in the discussion by editing Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Angie Phillips. Add four tildes like this ~~~~ to sign your comments. You can also edit the article Angie Phillips during the discussion, but do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top of the article), this will not end the deletion debate. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. File source problem with File:Carmel o'boyle.jpg

edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Carmel o'boyle.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:05, 17 March 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Plrk (talk) 14:05, 17 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Concerning your contribution, File:Newcastle map.jpg, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). As a copyright violation, File:Newcastle map.jpg appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. File:Newcastle map.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

 • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:File:Newcastle map.jpg and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
 • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:File:Newcastle map.jpg with a link to where we can find that note.
 • If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:File:Newcastle map.jpg.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you. Fattonyni (talk) 00:14, 23 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Possibly unfree File:Mourne observer.JPG

edit

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Mourne observer.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. -- Skier Dude  ►  06:07, 7 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

 • Hey Daniel625, just spotted this file heading for PUF status -- you may be able to resolve this by cropping the image to only the newspaper logo; this should put it into fair use rationale as it is providing the corporate identity, rather than copying any articles or pictures which will be copyrighted material. Hope this helps, Fattonyni (talk) 01:27, 11 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Pictures usa.jpg

You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

 • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
 • I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.
