editHello, I'm TheCatalyst31. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to South Africa has been undone because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Non-free image use
editHi Daniel Jackson 2001. I just want to let you know that I removed File:Commonwealth Flag - 2013.svg from User:Daniel Jackson 2001/sandbox per WP:UP#Non-free images. Sandboxes, etc. are considered to be userpages and non-free images such as the aforementioned file are only allowed to be used in the article namespace per WP:NFCC#9. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask them here. If you feel this removal was done in error and want the opinions of other editors, feel free to ask at WT:NFCC or WP:MCQ. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:34, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
1066 and all that stuff in the Civil War
editCavaliers "Wrong but Wromantic" and the Roundheads "Right but Repulsive" (1066 and All That)
I reverted your changes to:
Because the correct flags are a tricky thing at this time.
The Stuart kings proclaimed themselves King of Great Britain, but Great Britain did not exist as a legal entity (no act by either parliament was passed to support their proclamations). If you want a flag to represent the Cavaliers the Royal standards of Charles I and Charles II are probably better images to use.
During the fist and second civil wars Parliament kept up the legal fiction that they were fighting for the King against his evil advisors. For example they passed Ordinances not Acts because Acts of Parliament can only become lawful when the Sovereign assents to/signs them (this is also all bound up with the Great Seal). It was only after the killing of Charles I that Parliament considers itself sovereign, started to pass acts in the name of the people of the Commonwealth and had a new Great Seal made with the legend "THE GREAT SEAL OF ENGLAND / IN THE THIRD YEARE OF FREEDOME BY GODS BLESSING RESTORED". Likewise during the interregnum, what constituted the Commonwealth falls into several phases (see the article Commonwealth of England for an overview) and because legislation trailed behind facts on the ground deciding the legal position of when for example Scotland was absorbed into the Commonwealth as part of the Commonwealth is tricky (see the Tender of Union article for dates)
Disambiguation link notification for August 21
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ashanti–Fante War, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ashanti. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The article Stéphanie Windisch-Graetz has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no reliable references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. editPlease refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Criminal Minds (season 6). Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been undone.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continual disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Callmemirela 🍁 {Talk} ♑ 02:22, 18 December 2016 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use File:Prince Rostislav Romanov (born 1985).jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Prince Rostislav Romanov (born 1985).jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:56, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
Image without license
editUnspecified source/license for File:Portrait of Princess Ingrid-Alexandria.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Portrait of Princess Ingrid-Alexandria.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (Talk • Contribs • Owner) 23:46, 23 August 2017 (UTC)

Copyright Tags
editHello, I'm curious as to what copyright tag I should use to keep the image I uploaded (File:Princess Ingrid Alexandra.jpg) on this site. The website where I found the image (http://www.royalcourt.no/fotoalbum_presse.html?tid=131239&sek=29785&kategori=113149) said that it can only be used for editorial use and not commercial and I can't find a tag that fits that fits the request of http://www.royalcourt.no/fotoalbum_presse.html?tid=131239&sek=29785&kategori=113149. Can you tell me what tag I must use in order to keep this image on the site? --Daniel Jackson 2001 (talk) 13:25, 25 August 2017 (UTC)

editSpeedy deletion nomination of File:Princess Ingrid Alexandra.jpg
editA tag has been placed on File:Princess Ingrid Alexandra.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file licensed as "for non-commercial use only", "no derivative use", "for Wikipedia use only", or "used with permission"; and it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:
- state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
- add the relevant copyright tag and if necessary, a complete fair use rationale.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Orphaned non-free image File:Prince Rostislav Romanov (1938–1999).jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Prince Rostislav Romanov (1938–1999).jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:38, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Guy Williams as George V.png
editThanks for uploading File:Guy Williams as George V.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 21:30, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of User:Daniel Jackson 2001/sandbox
editAlthough everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing hoaxes, such as User:Daniel Jackson 2001/sandbox, is considered to be vandalism and is prohibited. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.
