Hello, I'm Permafrost46. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Avenged Sevenfold, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Hello, Permafrost. I just Googled A7F and I found plenty of Avenged Sevenfold results. I really can't provide sources that well, but if there's a source I'll find one :)
I've tried citing sources before, but I don't know what I need to and don't need to know/look for, etc. If you could help with that, that'd be nice. Thank you.

- Hello! What you need to do there is add an inline citation. There are several tools you can use for adding inline citations, but I really recommend the introduction to referencing tutorial. Look at the part that concerns inline citations, I found it to be really useful. Happy editing! Permafrost46 (talk) 23:48, 8 March 2014 (UTC)
Homesick
The song is certified gold beacuase of the single downloads on iTunes. It was never released as a single, though. If a song goes gold, doesn't mean it's a single. --Zack Tartufo (talk) 23:25, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
- If you noticed, on the RIAA site the official release date of If It Means a Lot to You is "February 3, 2009". That's exactly the same release date of Homesick, and it's a clear proof that the song was never released as a single but was published within the album. --Zack Tartufo (talk) 23:54, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
You do have a point....

Welcome to Wikipedia. I have noticed that some of your recent genre changes, such as the one you made to Sleeping with Sirens, have conflicted with our neutral point of view and verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you seek consensus for certain edits by discussing the matter on the article's talk page. Thank you. STATic message me! 00:49, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
So the genres that were listed on their albums can't count on their main page? Those I listed exist in some form on each album. I thought the listing of SWS's genre was too general, so I thought maybe we could go a little in-depth. DannyMusicEditor (talk) 19:32, 25 June 2014 (UTC)

Please do not add or change content, as you did to Restoring Force (album), without verifying it by citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. STATic message me! 07:39, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi Danny, before editing the genre on the other pages for Mudvayne, could you see the talk page here? Thanks! Andrzejbanas (talk) 20:32, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
discogs
Genres are hard to find real sources for on the internet (since most sites like allmusic will just post the same genres for a single band's entire discography, even if the albums fall completely out of the loop). So how is discogs unreliable? Its often times the only place you can find info on singles and lesser known albums. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dr. smoothy (talk • contribs) 00:34, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
- You're talking about the Puddle of Mudd album, right? That ref was not specific enough, and many similar sites are banned from referencing genres on Wikipedia, such as the Ultimate Guitar Archive, iTunes and Amazon. Their reviews are user-submitted, and the people who post things like this do not elaborate enough on why the music is classified as such.
Notice that the page iI provided you directly quotes that Discogs is not a reliable source for genre. DannyMusicEditor (talk) 04:32, 6 November 2014 (UTC)

Hi Danny!
I hope you are doing well in these tough days. I have just created This Means War (Avenged Sevenfold song). May I ask you to check the chart performance of the song? I guess I am not able to correctly write references in that section. I had to copy-paste.

Thanks, finally some proof it's an actual single! I'll ref it for you, no problem! DannyMusicEditor (talk) 21:08, 29 November 2014 (UTC)

Please do not add or change content, as you did to Alternative metal, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 19:42, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
- You know, there's a source about that on the nu metal page...why would I have to cite one? They do exist, after all.
And this is besides that point, but look at Korn. Pioneering force in nu metal. Obvious grunge influence. Listen to Jon Davis' vocals. Geez.
I know that doesn't matter, but if you really insist on me putting one, I'll just copypaste form the nu metal page. Thanks for putting the extra workload on me. DannyMusicEditor (talk) 19:48, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
- Quite apparently, the four-year-old source is dead, still sitting there, but there is a specific quote next to its wiki citation that directly mentions grunge. DannyMusicEditor (talk) 19:53, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
ad infinitum is a word
It's "ad infinitum" not "at infinitum". Time to brush up on your Latin phrases. In any case, I changed the message in the Type O Negative article to read "continually". Jason Quinn (talk) 22:49, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
Well sorry for my uninformed brain. Now I know. DannyMusicEditor (talk) 15:58, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
