edit

Hello. I wanted to let you know that your recent edit(s) to the Brokeback Mountain plot summary have been removed because they added a significant amount of unnecessary detail. Please avoid excessive detail and high word counts when editing plot summaries/synopses. You may read the plot summary edit guides to learn more about contributing constructively to plot summaries/synopses. There are also specific guidelines for films, musicals, television episodes, anime/manga, novels and non-fiction books. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 15:33, 20 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

This is a nonsense reversion. The plot section of that article is already cumbersome and awkward. I added a crucial detail to the plot that wasn't included and even removed an unnecessary inclusion: the fact that the shirts were worn in Ennis' and Jack's fight was inconsequential, but the fact that Jack secretly kept his shirt was an absolutely critical plot detail that was overlooked in the article. I just don't understand this reversion at all. Dapianomun (talk) 16:10, 20 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
WP:FILMPLOT has a pretty bright-line rule that plot summaries should not exceed 700 words. At the time of your edit the summary was at 779 words, so no, it was not a nonsense reversion. You're welcome to reinsert text you feel is appropriate while keeping the summary under 700 words, perhaps by removing other aspects of the summary. You're also welcome to start a discussion at the article's Talk page if you still feel it's a "nonsense reversion". Cheers. DonIago (talk) 04:20, 21 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
