I was not involved in notifying you about the image copyright problem with Image:XmasLights01.jpg; I simply warned you (below) about a notability problem with the article Xmas Lights. Speedy deletion of Xmas Lights

Hi DataBrain

I've reviewed the page Xmas Lights. We have very strict criteria for what makes a band 'notable', (see WP:MUSIC) and a band that has not yet released a debut album I'm afraid does not qualify, so the page will be deleted. Please feel free to resubmit a page for this band one they have achieved the notability that would qualify them for Wikipedia.

I'm afraid not. The requirements for notability are more strict than simply releasing an album (I'm sure you can imagine how many bands would quality if they were not). You can read the criteria at WP:MUSIC, but in international tours, press coverage, national awards and best-selling albums are some of the criteria. Good luck for the future. I read page you directed me to and it stated this:

"A musician or ensemble (note that this includes a band, singer, rapper, orchestra, DJ, musical theatre group, etc.) is notable if it meets any one of the following criteria:

1. It has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician/ensemble itself and reliable.
This criterion includes published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles, books, magazine articles, and television documentaries[2] except for the following:
Media reprints of press releases, other publications where the musician/ensemble talks about themselves, and advertising for the musician/ensemble.
Works comprising merely trivial coverage, such as newspaper articles that simply report performance dates or the publications of contact and booking details in directories.
An article in a school or university newspaper (or similar) would generally be considered trivial but should be evaluated on a case-by-case basis."

So technically if i was to direct you to the a couple of instances where Xmas Lights sucess has been published in a magazine, this would surely make them elligable for Wikipedia in conjunction with the above criteria. To answer your question: Yes, if you can find multiple articles about Xmas Lights in magazines then that might allow the article to be reposted. However note that it can't be university and school magazines; it must do more than just report that a concert happened; it can't be an online forum where anybody can post.

I should also point out that this will only win the article a reprieve from instant deletion. There is almost certain to be another nomination for deletion (see WP:AFD) where the notability is decided by debate. Frankly a band which has not released an album is always going to get deleted at that stage, no matter how many magazine sources you find. There are simply too many bands in the world that have never released an album. I've seen bands with several records released and a spot on a national radio station deleted as being too trivial. I strongly suggest coming back in a few years; remember that Wikipedia is not here to promote your band - only to record them if they are already notable.
