2015 FFA Cup - NNSW

edit

Hey man, I just saw that you updated the FFA Cup page, I feel like a jerk doing this, but I had just been building a huge upgrade on the page! Tell me what you think! - J man708 (talk) 06:57, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Cheers dude. The number of edits that I make at the moment clearly show that I have no life. :P
I added those red links due to the fact that the 2014 FFA Cup preliminary rounds page contains red links aswell. I also worded each link name to correspond with the name given in the previous year, so that if/when these pages are eventually created, they'll all link together. I have the intention of making a few team pages myself, starting with each team that is in each state's secondary league, behind the NPL and also teams whom just missed out on the FFA Cup like Sans Souci, Sunbury United, Boambee Bombers, etc. (I got some way into making a page about Boambee Bombers yesterday, but then my browser crashed and I gave up).
We can delete these red links if you see fit, I'm not that phased, I just figured that for the future, when more of these pages have been created, that they'll save us from having to go back and link them all up... But I do agree that some of these pages may never be created or kept updated. I just think that pages like the FA Cup's Qualifying Rounds, look awesome when they contain information from all the teams involved, going back to the 10th division amateur league clubs.
But yeah, as I said, do as you see fit, Smackdog. May I suggest whatever action you take that you also see to it that you do the same with the 2014 page? Thankfully being a new competition, not a lot of edits are necessary in order to create a standard to go off of. - J man708 (talk) 01:29, 21 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Do they not use goal keepers in Northern NSW ? Matilda Maniac (talk) 08:32, 1 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Matilda Maniac: Haha. Yeah it might seem like that over the past fortnight! I can only put it down to either major disparity in level or the fact that most games have been played on new synthetic pitches out at Speers Point Datasmack (talk) 08:50, 1 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

2015 FFA Cup NNSW Round 4 Round 5 Round 6

edit

is there a match missing ? its too hard for me to even try to understand what they're doing over there. I think there will be another draw this coming week or next - and they are generally informative. But they also give out one round byes here and there (last year they announced in advance how, but this year dont appear to have). I think it might be best to await another draw, and make any adjustments at that point. --Matilda Maniac (talk) 11:51, 7 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

I have worked it out - and it means that the entire Southern Division is one round out !!! I can update this in the main 2015 FFA Cup preliminary rounds article, but not until tomorrow.
6 STH pool 1 teams left - 3 matches - 3 winners all get a Bye in Round 5
9 STH pool 2 teams left - 4 matches + 1 bye : 4 winners + 1 x bye into Round 5
Round 5 : 5 STH pool 2 teams left - 2 matches + 1 bye : 2 winners + 1 x bye into Round 6
Round 6 : 3 STH pool 1 teams, 3 STH pool 2 teams, 2 NTH pool teams
YUUUUUKKKK !!! --Matilda Maniac (talk) 12:53, 7 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of NNSW FFA Cup Qualifying

edit

The article NNSW FFA Cup Qualifying has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

I still do not believe that this is a separate competition, in the way that the Waratah Cup is (with additional rounds after the FFA Cup preliminary Round 7), OR in the way that the Federation Cup is (with all rounds also contained within the FFA Cup preliminary Rounds, but where they crown a Cup champion at the end of the process). All federations except NNSW correspond to one or other of these, but NNSW just have a centralised venue for an intense series of matches that just get qualifiers to the FFA Cup, and dont even play a final. New Lambton FC moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, New Lambton FC, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 10:14, 12 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
