Speedy deletion nomination of 2017 purges in the United States
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on 2017 purges in the United States requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. JamesG5 (talk) 02:43, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
Deletion discussion about Control-left
editHello, Democratic Backsliding,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Control-left should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Control-left .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
Thanks,
Notice of noticeboard discussion
editThere is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.
Hi, I'm Jethro, an administrator. Some concerns have been brought up about your creation of articles such as Control-left and Beta uprising. Topics that are covered as articles here must satisfy some requirements. These include:
- Articles cannot represent original research, meaning that personal observations or research on this topic can't be used as article content. It seems that some the articles you've created are novel terms that do not appear to be recognized or have use in credible sources.
- Related to original research, you must avoid drawing novel conclusions based on claims made in reliable sources. This is called synthesis, and it's not appropriate content for Wikipedia articles. We have to stick to what the sources say, and not interpret or read further into them when writing article content.
- Wikipedia is not a platform for advocacy of any kind. The pattern of articles you've created, along with your username, suggests you are here to push a political message, and you cannot persist in doing so.
You've been notified that many articles you've created have violated one of these guidelines (and others), so I'm going to ask you to stop creating articles that violate these expectations. I encourage you to consider creating working on articles outside of politics. I JethroBT drop me a line 00:58, 4 September 2017 (UTC)
As Jethro notes, Wikipedia isn't a platform for advocacy, either for a given cause or for your personal interpretation. This extends to trying to popularize terms and concepts that you have coined yourself. Please provide evidence of significant coverage in major independent publications for all content, especially for neologisms. Acroterion (talk) 01:17, 4 September 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Hyperinflation in Venezuela
editHello Democratic Backsliding,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Hyperinflation in Venezuela for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.
Re: Jess Manafort "Fake News"
editHi, you removed the descriptor of "foreign agent" from Jess Manafort's father, but he registered himself as a foreign agent. That's not fake news:
- It should be made clear in the article that it is not illegal then, or else it would be so misleading it would be considered fake news.--Democratic Backsliding (talk) 09:03, 24 February 2018 (UTC)

editWelcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to 2020s, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Dark-World25 (talk) 06:44, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
The article List of SoundCloud rappers has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
SoundCloud is a music distribution service, not a label, so there is no particular connection between it and these rappers.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ... discospinster talk 18:30, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
Hello, Democratic Backsliding. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Black Excellence, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

editAn article you recently created, East Carolina University student riots, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). " before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the confirms on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. Deletion was originally proposed by User:Discospinster because "SoundCloud is a music distribution service, not a label, so there is no particular connection between it and these rappers.".

The article Bobby Hanig has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. You have recently shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Your deletion at Democratic backsliding
editYou deleted well sourced material with the edit summary " a known very politically left biased news organization". That's your personal opinion and not backed up by sources. It's described as liberal in its article. You clearly didn't check the source itself before deleting it, as it is an article written by academics, one being Tom Ginsburg, Leo Spitz Professor of International Law, Ludwig and Hilde Wolf Research Scholar at the University of Chicago Law School, one of the top law schools in the world. This was a sloppy revert and from your edit summary perhaps politically motivated, especially as you hardly ever use edit summaries. I note that your only edit to the article's talk page was to complain about an alleged anti-right wing slant, where I said I saw neither the slant or a mention of right-wing and User:Neutrality also saw no such slant and remove the pov tag you added, again without an edit summary.
Another reason I call it sloppy because part of the statement above it, which you didn't remove, was from exactly the same source.
Please be more careful in the future when deleting sourced text. Thanks. Doug Weller talk 11:58, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
- The source was Vox, so I stand correct, and you stand corrected.--Democratic Backsliding (talk) 20:24, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
- I just noticed this. It doesn't make any sense as a reply to my comment. You shouldn't have removed it. If you are so sure you are correct, please take it to WP:RSN. Doug Weller talk 14:49, 23 February 2019 (UTC)
- It doesn't make any sense as reply to your comment? What does that mean?--Democratic Backsliding (talk) 20:21, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
- I didn't notice this. Vox is considered a generally reliable source on Wikipedia and as I said the authors are clearly reliable. Your response still makes no sense although I guess it shows your views. Nevertheless you edit was wrong. Doug Weller talk 19:43, 18 January 2020 (UTC)
Country trap moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Country trap, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Disambiguation link notification for May 3
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2019 North Carolina's 3rd congressional district special election, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Republican and Tim Harris (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Your draft article, Draft:Country trap
editHello, Democratic Backsliding. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Country trap".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. , or {{db-g13}}
code.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Protests of 2019, should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Protests of 2019.
You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read.
