Hi Modernist! I was thinking of you :) The one I removed was sourced to http://www.artchive.com/artchive/m/mondrian/mondrian_gray_tree.jpg, which is 872 x 640. The version on the Commons is sourced to http://www.piet-mondrian.org/the-gray-tree.jsp, and is 1,100 × 804. I can't see a difference in color between these two versions, tho my eyesight is not the best it's true. There's several other versions available online, in various shades, if you want to browse around and upload another example. His stuff is in the public domain as of today, as he died in 1944. Watts (Pacific Electric)

Please restore this article. It was deleted without notifying me that it was tagged as a copyvio. I doubt that it's a copyvio (the software that tagged it as such has a habit of false positives, and that tag ignores content from Template:PE S Watts that is not in the ERHA article), and I believe that enough information not from the ERHA page exists that the article can exist without ripping off the ERHA site. pbp 09:31, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

Most of the prose in the source, from "The Watts Line performed local service" to "routed with certain Northern District lines", was included in the article essentially unchanged. It's completely different, and it was fixable, so the article should never have been deleted! Plus, why wasn't I notified before it was deleted? I have restored the infobox and am re-working the prose, but I think you should restore all revisions, even if it means you have to leave the copy-vio tag. I think it should have never have been tagged as copy-vio, because you're basing the copy-vio on only a handful of consecutive words. Also, the EHRA source contains a table of ridership and an explanation of flagging that isn't in the Wikipedia article, while the Wikipedia article contained/contains an infobox that's not in the EHRA source. Calling it copy-vio is a large stretch and all revisions should be restored. pbp 18:32, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

Disagree. I still say you're stretching it to call it a copyvio, or at least a copyvio that's serious enough that it's paramount for it to be hidden. You still haven't made the connection to explain why hiding or deleting so many edits was the right call. Note how few words in succession are identical to the page you claim it's a copy-vio of. Oh, and I tried numerous times to contact @NE2:, but each time, he either responded "yawn", or deleted my contributions as if I was a vandal. I've had strong disagreements with User:pbp in the past but I wholeheartedly support him with this. There is no copyvio here since the source and editors-written content are not, as Wikipedia:Copyright violations, states "linguistic similarity in creative language or sentence structure." Even if you charge that there is paraphrasing, which I don't see here, Wikipedia:Copyright violations links to Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing which defines what paraphrasing is appropriate and what is not. It states very clearly in its WP:LIMITED section that "Close paraphrasing is also permitted when there are only a limited number of ways to say the same thing" and that "This may be the case when there is no reasonable way to avoid using titles and technical term, and may also be the case with simple statements of fact." --Oakshade (talk) 06:28, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

The criteria for speedy deletion calls for deletion of copyright violations where removal of the copyright content would not leave a viable article. That's why the article was speedily deleted. After PBP re-wrote the article, I restored the prior history, as requested. The diffs containing the copy vio were then revision-deleted under criterion RD1. His first prose addition to the article included a copy-paste of the prose in the source article, http://www.erha.org/peswat.htm. All of the content in the opening paragraphs of the source are included unaltered in the Wiki article, with the addition of two sentences. It's not paraphrased at all. Copyvios on The Fearless Vampire Killers

(talk page stalker) Probably not. :) It was added without reference in 2005. The first change to the content, several months later, removed the title of the autobiography. The title of the autobiography is used in the external source. If it was copied from Wikipedia, they had a pretty narrow window to do it. The section is not altered much thereafter, but see the addition of quotation marks here. The quotation marks are not in the external site. Copyrights issue

Some hours ago, I had started a new section on ANI, no action has been taken yet. See Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Overall disruptive user.

What you need to do is see if there are five instances of copyvio by this editor. If you have five, then go to WP:CCI and initiate a formal copyright investigation. I checked his deleted articles Vikram Sohan, Ajay Cavalli, Raul Patil, Shyju Mathew, N. Raj Prakash Paul, Alexandre Slaviero, and Narayanguda cemetry, and none of them look like they contain any copyright material copied from elsewhere. They were all deleted for notability concerns. His four extant file uploads look okay, as they do not appear to have been copied from elsewhere online, and all four were taken with the same camera. Tomb of Absalom picture

Hi Diannaa, and a happy year to you! I might not be so savvy about Wik. tools and rules, but my common sense is quite a good guide. The picture of the iiner chamber of Absalom's Pillar has a misleading explanation ("Hinnom Valley"), I have indeed seen a Wikipedia page copy-pasting the mistake, and I don't know how to make people aware of it other than by going to the root cause: the picture page and notifying about the error. I fixed the affected Wikipedia pages where I could, but my French is not so great for instance :-) So, why such haste in deleting my correct and well-intended "message in a bottle"? I'm quite pedantic myself, but Wik. is a tool, and if it's just multiplying errors by sticking to rules, then it serves no purpose at all. If you have an alternative suggestion on how to deal with the problem AND stick to the rules, great, educate me. Reworking a salted article

Diannaa, I completely rewrote a biography which had been deleted multiple times, and then salted I presume by you. I am requesting that you take a look at my version and see if it is worthy to be moved to the Dina Rae name in mainspace. Here is my version:

I propose that the topic is notable because of WP:MUSBIO which admits any musician who has had a charting single. Dina Rae had a charting single in duet with Eminem on the song "Superman (feat. Dina Rae)", and also on the Eminem song "Drug Ballad (feat. Dina Rae)". Several authors have written about her, including journalist David Stubbs. She has collaborated with a great many famous musicians, and her writing credits have been on four multi-Platinum albums. I think the topic is something Wikipedia should host.

I hope you don't mind the archived fansite filler which I used to flesh out the article to make it more readable. The core notability is established by reliable sources while the interesting bits are filled in with interviews that Dina Rae gave to fansite authors.

In the 2010 deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dina Rae, the article appears to have failed to establish notability. I think I solved that problem. More recent recreations of the article became a concern because of sockpuppeting by blocked/banned editor MariaJaydHicky. Various versions of this biography have been deleted by Courcelles in 2010 per AfD, by Fastily in 2011 for overt promotion, by JamesBWatson last September (twice!) and by you last December. Let's check to see if any of these fine folk have concerns about my version going live. Binksternet (talk) 06:46, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

Hmm. You say I deleted the article twice. In fact I once deleted an article on the subject, and once a pointless disambiguation page, which pointed to only one article. Also, after mentioning "In the 2010 deletion discussion", you refer to subsequent deletions in terms which could give the impression that they were entirely for another reason than notability, namely sockpuppetry. However, only one of the deletions of the article (not the disambiguation page) was because of sockpuppetry, and my deletion was because of a second deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dina Rae (singer). I see that in that second deletion discussion an argument for "keep" was "Admittedly she's mainly a backing singer/muse. But she's a backing singer/muse to someone who is not a nobody and has released records under her own name also." (From the editor "In ictu oculi".) Was she merely a backing singer for Eminem, or was she more than just a backing singer? I don't know the answer, but if an experienced and reliable Wikipedia editor arguing to keep the article concedes that she was only acting as a backing singer, then I suspect it is so. If so, then I think it is stretching a point to interpret "any musician who has had a charting single" as meaning "any musician who has played any part in a charting single, even if only as a backing singer". Being a backing singer to someone who is "not a nobody" is no evidence of notability, as notability is not inherited. The writing and construction of Binksternet's version of the article are fine, as I would expect for any article by him, but whether it establishes notability is another question. I selected five of his 21 references at random and checked them. The first one I checked was a blog. The second one was a fairly substantial report about Eminem, which had a two-sentence mention of Dina Rae, in which she is described as having "provided backing vocals and hook work" for him. The third is a book, which as far as I could see has only one single-sentence mention of her, in which it refers to her as providing "backing vocals". The fourth is a page at IMDb, which merely includes a song of Dina Rae's in a list of credits. The fifth was a Wayback Machine archived copy of a page on a now defunct fan site (www.dinaraefans.com). If those five are typical of the 21 references, then there is no evidence whatever of satisfying Wikipedia's notability guidelines. However, I have spent as much time on this as can afford to spend at present, and I shall leave it to others to assess the remaining 16 references. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 10:36, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

She's not just a background vocalist; she's a "featured" singer. The point is that she has featured credit on two charting singles, and she was featured on stage during the 2002–03 tour singing the two songs as duets with Eminem. More than that, she is acknowledged by Eminem and his production team as a writer of musical hooks used on his multi-Platinum albums. Binksternet (talk) 04:03, 8 January 2015 (UTC)

My opinion is that she hasn't done anything fresh since the article was deleted in November 2010 and September 2014 for notability concerns. If there's no new claims to fame, she's still not notable in my opinion. It might be a good idea to check with the relevant wikiproject to confirm whether or not there's enough new material to survive AFD. The copyright notices are mandated by certain international copyright treaties (the Universal Copyright Convention and the Buenos Aires Convention) and do not necessarily contradict the Creative Commons licences. Those notices should no longer be needed due to other copyright treaties, but they are still commonly in use. Hi Diannaa, I hope all's well with you.

I'm sorry to ask (especially out of the blue) but I've seen on a number of occasions you deploy sound critical judgment in a number of articles (the Wansee Conference especially) on small additions made by other users in totally good faith but which do not use WP:RS or have issues with spelling/grammar/emphasis etc. I wrote Belgium in World War II a while back and, while it's very far from perfect, there has recently been a spate of such edits by new users. I feel very uncomfortable reverting them (though I have done so) and is smacks of page ownership and all sorts of other things I consciously try to avoid. At the same time, letting them stand would, I feel, decay the quality of the article such that it is. Anyway, I wondered whether you might agree to add the page to your watchlist (very few established users, it seems, have) to provide a second opinion at very least. I'd certainly appreciate it! Help if possible

Hi again Diannaa ! Not far from where I live, exist one of the world's most busy international ferry route (roll-on-roll-of) between Helsingør, Denmark and Helsingborg, Sweden. There has been an official ferry route ever since 1630. And especially after the the industrial revolution the route has been operated by several shipping lines. Now I wrote about the shipping line which between 1955 and 1981 was called LB (car ferries), and this article has now been confused with the route itself, for speedy deletion. But just like Operation Overlord was a plan, and there is a clear difference also between Normandy Landings and Invasion of Normandy. In some kind of analogy with those subjects, am I kindly asking for help and advices here. Hi User talk:Diannaa. I am coming to your talk page as I note you signed the The Autie Pact back in 2012. I am a non-neurotypical who lives with Autism in the form of Asperger Syndrome. If you know much about those of us on the Spectrum as well as Wikipedia editors on the Spectrum, you probably understand that editing and communication can be difficult enough for neurotypicals, excruciatingly difficult at times for editors like me with Autism. I am here on your talk page not because I am asking you to intervene, I am not canvassing for support. I am here because you signed the Autie Pact that is meant to be a way to move toward bridging the gap between neurotypical editors and editors with Autism Spectrum Disorder(s). Currently, there has been a discussion for a few days at AN/I regarding my ability to edit. I have been open there about being a person with Asperger's. When that information was brought forth, the reactions have been -- shall we say -- less than complimentary to those expressing their views about editors with Autism. This discussion and the comments from long-time and not-so-long-time editors is, in my opinion, an example of how far we still have to go in Wikipedia toward understanding that we are made up of editors with different editing styles and different ways of seeing the world. Of course, the difference in editors with Autism is more obvious and can be, at times, more maddening to neurotypicals. That said, with the rate of autism being somewhere between 1:55 - 1:110 and Wikipedia being a magnet for those with ASDs, I think it's fair to say that awareness is extremely important. Also important to remember is that discrimination against editors because they have ASDs is just not appropriate nor does it echo WP:AGF. • Don't make hundreds of tiny edits when you can make several larger edits that do the same work. It annoys people, because it floods their watch-lists, and makes it difficult to assess your contributions. I was ready to nominate Madagascar Plan for GA after only eight edits! Seriously. If you can't complete large edits without getting an edit conflict, it's best to stop editing the page and work somewhere else until the page is not busy.
• Don't edit war.
• Don't read or pay any attention to what people post at Jimbo's talk page.

As you have previously dealt with this user, I thought I would bring this to your attention. Indef-blocked sockpuppeteer User:Zimmermanh1997, once again, edited WICL along with WIKZ, WEPM and WLTF. All favorite haunts of his. Zimmerman used 73.163.224.98 and 2601:A:200:676:9D85:7F03:6249:47AB, the latter of course being an IPv6. I checked the former, and it traces back to Walkersville, MD, where most Zimmerman edits originate. The IPv6 traces back to the same area. So, in my opinion, same person.

They do seem light valid content, but most of it is completely false. That's the way he does things, makes it look correct when in fact it isn't. The sale of WEPM/WICL/WLTF was approved in November, but it hasn't closed...yet. At the moment, the stations are still owned and licensed to Prettyman Broadcasting Company. I love the top of your talk page. When you were a GOCE coordinator, did you ever run into a block-appropriate situation? If so, did you use the mop yourself or take it to a noticeboard or another admin? unitypeace01318sda, who just signed up for the drive, volunteered for their first article to copyedit a Croatian article from the requests page. They were hard to track because their signature was different from their username and had no link to their user page (which violates something, I'm sure :-)), and their editing history is sketchy. Hi Miniapolis. The signature needs to link to either the user page or the user talk page. The user's current signature does neither, and does not give any information as to what their user name actually is, so it's a problem. I will post more info on their talk page. I'm not sure if the definition of WP:involved precludes using admin-tools for violations noted during administering a wikiproject, but I suspect not. I first "met" you as part of the Guild of Copy-Editors, and what I found out as part of that project is that going to reliable sources is absolutely crucial for fixing articles that are a mess. Anyway, could I ask you to look at IP 31.164.41.160, in particular the re-addition of a large copyvio four minutes after a warning landed on its talk page, and see what you think? It doesn't seem acceptable to me. Asking you because I think you are good at ranges, and there's a similar one, 31.164.41.92. I wouldn't say I am good at ranges; I use a couple of tools to calculate simple range blocks (template:blockcalc or https://tools.wmflabs.org/blockcalc/). Regarding where to report, the best place to go is WP:AIV. Here on my talk page is also good, as I edit daily, and will put up a wikibreak notice if I am going to be away for more than a day or two. Hi Schradieck. The draft was deleted because all the content was copied directly from http://www.bargemusic.org/about.html. It's not okay to copy source material directly, even if you provide footnotes. It's okay to start an article on the same topic, as long as you write the material in your own words and don't copy from your sources. Rosa's a fringe writer whose article was deleted by afd Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Manuel Rosa some years ago. The editor who created this version has a clear coi.[10] The reason I'm contacting you is that it looks very similar to Rosa's LinkIn bio.[11] There's been a history of attempts to promote Rosa's work in various articles, possibly some socks as well. The draft was deleted because the material was copied from http://fafen.org/national-assembly-election-results-analysis/ and http://asiafoundation.org/resources/pdfs/PromotingFairElectionsinSouthAsia.pdf and possibly elsewhere online. Wikipedia articles have to be written in your own words, not copied from elsewhere, because prose you find online is protected under copyright law. You cannot post copyright material on Wikipedia even if you are the copyright holder, unless special licensing permissions are in place. Nevertheless we put a certain amount of work into the article and now its completely gone. There's two images at http://spartacus-educational.com/Maria_Reiter.htm. The picture of her as an adult is the property of Getty Images and thus is not available for fair use. The one with Hitler may be misidentified, as Yad Vashem says it's Gudrun Himmler. The color photo at www.ww2incolor.com is likewise probably misidentified, as http://www.thirdreichruins.com/berghofvisitors.htm says it's actually Gertrude Deetz. Regardless, the color photo may be the property of LIFE Magazine and thus unavailable for fair use. So I've hit a dead end. If you could hunt around and send me links to any likely images i will have a look. Note: Mimi, Geli, and Eva were all far younger than Hitler. We need to include this somehow. Also, I'm calling major bullshit on the little girl besides Hitler featured on Spartacus being Mitzi! You can clearly tell that particular photo was taken in the 1930s, where Mitzi would have been in her 20s—and that girl besides Hitler looks a 10-year-old. File permission problem with File:Picture of Jean Jacques Moreau.pdf

The picture has been given lont time ago by J.J. Moreau itself. It was one of his identity card pictures. He died in January2015 wihout any descendants. What should I do ?

If you have the copyright holder's permission to upload the image here, please arrange for them to send an email releasing the photo to us under license. There's instructions at WP:consent. If you are going to go to all this trouble, I suggest you find a higher quality image, as File:Picture of Jean Jacques Moreau.pdf is not of sufficient size or quality for inclusion in the encyclopedia. I don't remember any such ban, so in lieu of the AN discussion, I suppose I can say that I agree with what I said in the linked section; a ban from UAA shouldn't be construed as a ban from making private requests on admin talk pages, i.e. there shouldn't be any problem with the request that started this section. Of course, any admin can say "you've overwhelmed my talk page with bad requests; don't come here again with block requests", so please continue to be careful not to burden an admin with all of them. I have got a request from OTRS team to confirm authorization of the copyright owner from the address listed in the contact page on your website. The copyright owner has already sent this authorization from the required contact e-mail address. Actually, my contributing of this article is by no means a paid advocacy as I receive no financial compensation from Mr. Tigran Maytesiam to use Wikipedia to promote his interests. I am a freelancer on no-paid basis to contribute but not his paid employee or a family member / friend. I asked him for the requested authorization as the editor Diannaa deleted my contributed article marking it as “Unambiguous copyright infringement of Tigran Maytesian's website”.

Dear Justlettersandnumbers, in Importance of civility conflict of interest it goes that disparaging comments made about the subject of the article/author and about the author's motives should be avoided, since they may be seen as forbidden personal attacks, and may discourage the article's creator from making future valuable contributions. I am a volunteer with no financial interest or personal bias to the topic. In fact, from my side it was an attempt to advance the aims of Wikipedia and to supplement the current Wikipedia list of contemporary living violinists with another internationally recognized and prominent person really worth to be placed there.

Roman Catholic Diocese of Green Bay; needs official Coat-of-arms file.

Greetings, On Template:Roman Catholic Diocese of Green Bay the COA was deleted. Thanks! On Talk:Roman Catholic Diocese of Green Bay during October 2014 I had asked for a COA image to be uploaded. Since then, I did email the GB Diocese office and they have emailed me 2 official COA files. Because I'm fairly new here at WP, and these copyright restrictions, I have not been able to upload either image file, so I've moved on. I have successfully uploaded 3 or 4 of my personal pictures to commons so I do understand the process and the need for proper copyright classifications, etc.

On a few other Template Navbox pages, I have added a temporary blank COA File:Heraldic shield shape 600x660.svg as a visual indication that a COA is needed. So far there have been no objections so after a while I plan to include the blank COA on the GB template.

Question:

On the infobox of Roman Catholic Diocese of Green Bay article, the same non-free image file File:CoA - Green Bay.jpg is included. Should this one also be removed?

The coat of arms can remain on the Roman Catholic Diocese of Green Bay article, because the file description page includes a rationale for its inclusion there, and using it there meets our non-free content requirements, which you can find here as related to images. Since our non-free content rules call for minimal use of non-free content, non-free images are not allowed in templates, which might be transcluded onto large numbers of pages. You might consider getting OTRS permission in place for the coat of arms, if you have the copyright holder's permission to display it here. There's instructions as to how to do this at WP:Consent. D--here is one of those nagging little queries you may be able to help out on (cue the "Mission: Impossible" music). I have not been able to find out when she died. I assume she has by now given she was born in 1915. After the war, I know she married her British interrogator, Leslie James. After his death in 1995, I have read that she returned to Germany. I cannot find an WP:RS source stating anything after that and when she died. I checked and German Wikipedia does not have an article on her. Kierzek, according to the Swedish Wikipedia, there should be some general information about her in Joachimsthaler, Anton (2000). The Last Days of Hitler: Legend, Evidence and Truth. London: Cassell. Jonas, I have that book (as does Diannaa) which was first released in Germany in 1995 and then the English edition in 1999. At that time, she was still living. Hi Marano Fan. I guess that you do not realise that I am one of the few administrators who works with files, deleteing images and maintaining the image collection in other ways. By unnecessarily uploading files to replace images that are already okay, and in most cases are in fact better (because your png files take way longer to load), you are creating extra and unnecessary work. I realise that I don't have to clean up after you, but if it's not me, it's going to be someone else. You have also generated a lot of extra work for the person (that's right - usually it's just the one guy) who locates and tags unused non-free files for deletion. That's how I discovered there was a problem; there's 334 untagged orphaned non-free images listed right now, and many of them are images you removed from articles and did not tag for deletion like you should have done. Now at the risk of annoying you further, I will be going through your recent album covers and removing from articles the worst of them, and tagging them for deletion. Copyright issue with uploaded pictures for article on Soft Robotics

Hi Diannaa (talk),

Thank you for your help with the article on Soft Robotics. In order to avoid the deletion of the article, I was wondering if it is possible to delete the two pictures File:Soft octopus arm project OCTOPUS.png and File:Fish robot by FILOSE.jpg so that the article itself can be published (it seems there are no other issues with it). In the meantime I can contact the people they have sent me the pictures (then ones that I have mentioned in the copyright statement) . So they can provide me and Wikipedia with an official copyright statement. I would then, after having all the correct copyright information, add the pictures later.

So my questions is how can we do that? Is it sufficient to delete the pictures from my account? It seems Anthony Bradbury "talk" (who reviewed the draft) is not responsive. We have been waiting for weeks for his response and I am afraid all the work of so many people for the article might be lost.

Hi Mr Hunt. The draft Draft:Soft Robotics was deleted as it contained copying from http://journal.frontiersin.org/Journal/10.3389/fbioe.2014.00003/full. This is a separate issue from the copyright status of the photos. In order for the prose from the journal article to be displayed on this wiki, it has to be released under both the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License (CC-BY-SA) and the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL). The source document shows only the CC-by licnense and not the GFDL. If the copyright holders wish to release the material under both of these licenses, the article can be restored. Don't worry, the content is not lost, it's merely hidden from view, and can be restored if the required permissions are received. The image was tagged with a GFDL license and a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 License. The image is not in the public domain in the US if it was published in 1929 (it has to be prior to 1923). The image is in the public domain in its source country (the UK). The copyright holder needs to send the permission email to the OTRS team. There's instructions at WP:consent. I recently attempted to respond to your requirement of obtaining direct permission from the original owner of the photo Samir Mitragotri.png, wherein the owner also agrees to publish the image under a Creative Commons license. You notified me that, if permission was not provided by the end of the week, the picture would be taken down. However, I did submit permission to permissions-en@wikimedia.org by the end of the week, for the currently posted picture (of the same name, Samir Mitragotri.png) BUT a different graphical make-up (i.e. an updated picture of Samir). I sent direct correspondence from Ian Barin, the original owner of this latest photo, who sent the form with his personal information and otherwise verbatim in terms of the Wikipedia requirements. Because of this, the most recent picture, which appears now to be down, should remain up. If this an issue with using the exact same name for the photo, please let me know, and Ian and I will change the name and send permissions for this new name. Otherwise, please allow me to post the updated photo (verified and granted by Ian Barin on 2/11/2015).

If you look at the KARABUK UNIVERSITY's page on wıkıpedıa you wıll see a lot of wrong informations for example; page says-Academic staff:126 that's totaly wrong!! we have more than 800 staff at the university! this is just a little example

trabant1963 block info

Hi, you blocked User:Trabant1963 for edit warring. But I see no notice of discussion at any admin board at User talk:Trabant1963, and in fact "what links here" shows there was no wp:3RRnb or other proceeding (though there was previous, already archived Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/IncidentArchive873#Trabant1963. I assume a proceeding is not necessary. Could you clarify in your block notice (add link(s) to article(s) where edit warring was going on), and perhaps explain a bit more? And when/where Trabant1963 was warned? How do you know of it, are you involved at one of the articles or were you requested to act by someone involved? I am not disputing the block but it would be better for the record to show or link to some evidence. Maybe the block reason is obvious to you and involved editors but may not easily be discerned later by uninvolved others. There should be enough specificity that the user could possibly compose an appeal, but as it is now there's nothing to answer to. And i am not admin and don't know if block log needs revision. I looked at the article in response to the ANI thread and reverted a couple of his edits where he clipped off part of the urls of the citations, thus breaking the links to the sources. I warned him not to do that any more and posted an edit warring notice at the same time. He must have read the warning, as he removed it from his talk page immediately prior to resuming the edit war. It was the only content that he removed from his talk page. His disruptive behaviour includes re-inserting the same wording multiple times after the warning in spite of the objections of other editors, who have been trying but failing to engage him in discussion. Could you restore a deleted pic?

Hi Diannaa.

I have been referred to you by Stefan2. I created File:Ultraman gyango ruffian from outerspace 19660925.JPG with a proper fair use rationale and provenance to illustrate the article Ultraman. The editor User:Ryulong edit warred endlessly to remove it, and it ended up getting deleted as orphaned. I figured he'd eventually get banned, which arbcom has done. The article currently has no picture from the actual show, in which he was a 200ft tall being who fought aliens and monsters, usually trampling military vehicles, buildings, and trees in the process. The current image in the article, which looks like a robot warding off a vampire at a halloween party doesn't quite illustrate the show's premise.

I'd like to restore the image to the article, and preferably in the original form it was uploaded, (i.e., not the last version, which Ryulong had degraded in quality so that he could argue it was not a good enough picture.

I'd really appreciate it if you could restore the file rather than me having to reupload it.

Your original upload was 596 × 500, which is too large for NFCC (and the image looks a little blurry at that resolution to be honest). The correct size to meet our non-free content requirements is about 344 x 288, using the quick rule of thumb that the height in pixels multiplied by the width should not be over 100,000. Display size for a logged-in user who has not specified otherwise is 220px wide, so the image will look fine in the article at that resolution. If you are okay with an image size of 344 x 288, I will go ahead and restore the prior image and orphan the cosplay pic. -- Diannaa (talk) 19:57, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

However, according to c:COM:GOF, files uploaded in early March 2006 need a quote of the copyright holder's permission statement. That quote is not present here. I get the feeling that you should just "be bold" (lol) and create the project if you have a new idea. The section "Creating and maintaining a project" under Wikipedia:WikiProject has a link to a project proposal page, where you list your proposals for a new WikiProject, which kind of reminds me of the page where you can list ideas for new articles; as in, you don't need some kind of approval. Olavo de Carvalho

Hello Diannaa. Thanks for your efforts at cleaning up the Olavo de Carvalho article. I noticed that one of your edits removed the copyvio template, but didn't actually remove all the duplicated text. I assume this was an oversight so I've restored the template (but repositioned it below the infringing text that you did remove).

As you've probably noticed, the article and its talk page have recently seen a large number of edits which attempt to discredit Carvalho, to paint him in a particularly bad light, or to delete the article altogether. Most of the edits are coming from the user Cerme, from anonymous IP accounts, or from another registered account which has very few edits unrelated to Carvalho. This makes me wonder if Cerme is resuming the Carvalho-related sockpuppetry and edit warring he was blocked for a few years ago (see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Cerme/Archive). Hi Psychonaut. Sorry for missing some of the copyright text. I was able to confirm by looking at the deleted revisions that appeared on the other website before it was brought to our wiki. By the way, should the article have appeared on the page Wikipedia:Copyright problems if it's got a copyvio core template on it? The template was dated February 18, and there's nothing listed for that date. Maybe this step got missed; is it done manually or added by a bot? Regarding the sockpuppetry concern, since both users have edited recently there should be check-user evidence as well as behavioural evidence, so an SPI is a good idea in my opinion and might be quickly resolved. Hi Dianaa. Contrary to what some editors seems to think, I have not edited the article above, anytime - nor do I not intend to edit it. Ultraman again

Hi, Dianannaa, I was wondering if you would be willing to put a semi-protect on the article?

A user, stronjam, deleted the image you restored. If He acts again I intend to take him to SPI, given (1) he had never edited the article before, but used the same arguments a ryulong and restored an unfree image by ryulong (one not commented on in the text) and (2) his edits overlap with the gamergate controversy that recently was settled with arbcom banning ryulong.

After I followed Stefan2's suggestion that I delete the unfree picture from the convention, an IP user restored it. Given the article's edit history I expect to see this fought out slowly by proxy for a while. Semiprotection will at least allow us to identify any socks. Thanks again for your help.

I don't work the SPI board except in the most clear-cut instances; I'm not suited to that line of work. My feeling about the Ultraman article is that it's a content dispute, with both IPs and registered users disagreeing with you as to what images should be included and where.
