I was wondering if there is a way to search for wiki articles in your own area?? --Discolover18 (talk) 12:15, 18 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Do you mean articles in a particular subject area, or articles relating to your local geographic area (which are kind of the same thing, I suppose)? Yunshui  12:26, 18 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, articles within my local area of Erskine--Discolover18 (talk) 12:37, 18 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Is this any use?

Yunshui  12:49, 18 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yeah that's pretty good, thanks.--Discolover18 (talk) 12:49, 18 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
I live to serve. Sadly there's no Portal:Erskine (Portal:Scotland is about as close as you'll get), nor a useful category (Category:Renfrewshire might have some helpful stuff in, though). I also note that we need an article on Erskine Hospital, if you're bored and have nothing better to do... Yunshui  12:53, 18 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Ive thought for ages that the Erskine Hospital could be doing with it's own page and also the Mar Hall hotel as well. Yeah, ill see what happens. Thank you for your help.--Discolover18 (talk) 12:57, 18 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

l, you e== Help ==

I'm looking to start an article. I need some help and some questions answered. I have an article in my sandbox. I don't how to turn it into a proper article??? Thanks. --Discolover18 (talk) 13:06, 20 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

(typed before edit conflict)

The best place to look for guidance for starting a new article is WP:Your First Article, while the best place to get quick answers about general questions onwiki is at the WP:Teahouse. Once ready to start your new article, go to Articles for Creation at WP:AFC, or use the "Article Wizard" link on the YFA page.
You can also, of course, use the {{help me}} like you did, but that'll just put you on the list for a single helper...the Teahouse is more of a message board for multiple people to give comments.

(after conflict, and after looking)

Nice! I just edited your draft and added the "Articles for Submission" header to the top. All you need to do to submit the article is click the button. Honestly, I think it's quite nice, I'm just not an AfC reviewer. Revent (talk) 13:43, 20 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hi. Thanks for your help. I think that's it done right. I hope so. Thanks for your help. --Discolover18 (talk) 14:10, 20 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Well, you ended up submitting it multiple times, but that's no big deal and common... after you submit, there is a lag before the header changes. Your page is in the proper category (Pending AfC submissions) and that's what matters. Revent (talk) 14:30, 20 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your help once again. I'll get the hang of this one day. --Discolover18 (talk) 15:17, 20 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi. My sandbox has an article I wrote in it. However when I delete my sandbox, It deletes that article. It's strange. Can anybody help. The article is Mar Hall Hotel.--Discolover18 (talk) 08:36, 4 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Your sandbox currently redirects to the live article. In order to re-use your sandbox, you'll want to remove the redirect. Here's how that works: When you open your sandbox, you'll be redirected to the article, but at the very top, you should see the text "(Redirected from User:Discolover18/sandbox)". When you click on that, you'll be taken to your sandbox with the redirection disabled, allowing you to edit the sandbox and do with it as you please. For now, here's the direct link. Hope that helps. How do you archive the stuff on your talk page??--Discolover18 (talk) 14:30, 23 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

One way to do it is to program and use an archiving bot. I personally like using Cluebot the third.
Another way is do it manually, usually through cut and paste. This page explains how it's done. --I dream of horses If you reply here, please leave me a {{Talkback}} message on my talk page. @ 15:13, 23 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Robertson Park

edit

I noticed you tried to add back categories for Robertson Park of Category:Parks in Scotland, Category:Parks in the United Kingdom. I had removed these because I added Category:Parks in Renfrewshire which is a sub-category of both of those, and my understanding is that adding the parent categories is duplicating this. Hope this makes sense. --nonsense ferret 18:01, 8 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
