- Welcome!
Hello, Doquinn76, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for helping us build a great free encyclopedia. We have five basic principles, but other than that, we advise that you be bold and edit. If you ever have any questions or need help, feel free to leave a message at the help desk, and other Wikipedia editors will be happy to assist you.
Thanks again and congratulations on becoming a Wikipedian!
P.S. New discussion threads for you will appear at the bottom of this page.
Hello, Doquinn76, and thank you for your contributions!
I wanted to let you know it seems an article you worked on, David Michael O'Quinn, is copied from another Wikipedia page, David Michael O'Quinn. It's fine to do this as long as you provide the following information in the edit summary:
- a link to the article you copied from
- the date you copied it
You can do this now by editing the page, making any minor edit to the article, and adding the above information into the edit summary.
If you're still not sure how to fix the problem, please leave a message at the help desk. It's possible that I made a mistake, so feel free to remove the tag I placed on the article.
Thanks again for helping build the free encyclopedia! CorenSearchBot (talk) 04:58, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

editPlease do not write an article about yourself, as you apparently did at David Michael O'Quinn. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of David Michael O'Quinn
editA tag has been placed on David Michael O'Quinn requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Dori ☾Talk ☯ Contribs☽ 05:56, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
The article Who I Am and What I Want has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Unreferenced. Book by a non notable author. fails criteria at WP:NBOOK
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 17:27, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

Thing is, you were given proper information - it's all over your talk page here. However, I am one of the first to admit that we don't provide much in the way of useful information to new users before they start writing articles. To reiterate, unfortunately neither you nor your book meet Wikipedia criteria for encyclopedic articles at this time. Either you must be an internationally acclaimed author, or your book must have won an internationally recognised literary prize. That said, people don't write encyclopedic articles about themselves or their work; to do so is considered self promotion. The relevant policies are (please click these blue links):
