Talk:Gus Grissom

edit

I have recently re-factored the Gus Grissom page, deleting the blatent personal attacks from both sides, and archiving discussion not relating directly to the wording/addition/removal of content from the article. I noticed in this edit that you made that your section title was inappropriate. It was interpreted as a personal attack (see WP:NPA). Please remain civil. I have posted a template message at the top of the talk page to give other editors the same message. Sancho McCann 18:35, 11 February 2007 (UTC) Totally understandable. Just saw this bozo's nonsense and my brain asploded all over my keyboard. There are times I wish there could be a basic test for adding things to Wikipedia.--DrBear 18:53, 11 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

News Music/WLUK

edit

Hello. I could be wrong, but I was told that under WP:TVS talk, that news music sections aren't allowed on pages anymore. For what reason, I am not sure, but that is what I was told. If you would like to research further, please go ahead and I will leave that section be in case I am wrong. Take Care...NeutralHomer T:C 19:24, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I completely agree with you there. There should be a mass post system so that admins can send something to all members saying "this, this, and this are now against the rules and this and this are OK" or something like that. If you need any help with any TV station related problems, please let me know and I will be glad to help you as best as I can. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Wluk61logo.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Wluk61logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 13:27, 28 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

WBAY-TV building

edit

Ya wrote: The station's headquarters in downtown Green Bay is a former Catholic school that has undergone many renovations. The school's gymnasium is called the WBAY Auditorium, and is used as the studio for the station's Cerebral Palsy telethon. (The actual studio is in a small addition behind the building). The auditorium has also been used for local theatrical productions. The station's newsroom is in the basement of the building in an area that originally held a swimming pool, and later, a bowling alley.

Facts:

The WBAY Building was originally built as a Knights of Columbus Clubhouse (hence the name on the cornerstone "Columbus Club"). It was built as the "Catholic Alternative to the WMCA" of which all good Catholics were expected to patronize, anyone caught by that "other place" could expect a "reminder from the 'Board'" by a local priest (that news came from my grandmother).

It had a twelve lane bowling alley, Olympic-size swimming pool restaurant (basement), auditorium (first floor), billiards on the second and a gymnasium and hand-court on the third.

In the 1930's, the Knights of Columbus ran into problems with their loan and the White Fathers (Norbertines) took over the building (eventually, the KC's built a new building next door in 1938 which still stands today).

The Norbertines decided to turn the second and third floors into an all-boys Roman Catholic High School called "Catholic Central". The auditorium had the seats taken out of the main floor in order to accommodate a "full-size" gym.

The swimming pool was eventually covered up and became lanes 13-18 in 1961 when the new automatic pinsetters were installed.

You can read the rest of it here. http://www.wbay.com/Global/story.asp?S=99819&nav=menu24_10_13

The WBAY Auditorium is also used for other productions than just the CP Telethon.

The WBAY Auditorium is the only part of the building that doesn't have air-conditioning.

Now...try it again!

Apollo 16 edits

edit

Not sure what vandalism you were trying to revert on Apollo 16 today, but the sentence about "Fallen Astronaut" doesn't belong in this article. I reverted that yesterday after it showed up in a series of nonsense edits from an anonymous account. --ScottJ (talk) 22:32, 18 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:FIRST PAGE 1.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:FIRST PAGE 1.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 02:12, 21 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
