Speedy deletion nomination of Vincent James Mannoia Jr.

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Vincent James Mannoia Jr. for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

I notice that one of the first articles you created appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

Managing a conflict of interest

Hello, DrVJMJ. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

• Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
• Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
• Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

In short, it is highly discouraged to write articles about yourself. In response to your question on my talk page, I removed the speedy deletion tag because the article did not qualify for speedy deletion under the criteria given. I had proposed it for deletion because it was a biography of a living person with no references. Now that there are references the article cannot be deleted under that criteria, so your actions in adding sources and removing the tag are fine.
