You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Floquenbeam (talk) 17:41, 6 July 2022 (UTC)

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:31, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

Crime Scene Kitchen

Please see the sources such as The Futon Critic and Zap2it, as well as FOX's official website. Episode titles do indeed include hyphens, and the episode titles should follow what the sources say. Magitroopa (talk) 16:52, 28 June 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Drmargi, you are now engaged in an edit war with me on the Hijack page. After I changed the edits you made, you should not have reverted back but discussed instead. Can you please explain your reasoning on the issue? Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 17:09, 9 July 2023 (UTC)

@Drmargi, I left you a comment two days ago; please take the time to address it. Our dispute isn't resolved until we find agreement. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 03:27, 12 July 2023 (UTC)

I've responded to the discussion on the talk page, which is where it belongs. Please remember to discuss the issue, not the editor. This discussion is closed. ----Dr.Margi 17:49, 13 July 2023 (UTC)

Your signature and linter errors

Just a reminder that your signature contains obsolete font tags. They create Linter errors, and it is advised that you change your signature to --<span style="font-variant:small-caps; text-shadow:blue 0.2em 0.2em 0.4em">--<span style="color:blue;">Dr.</span><span style="color:red;">Margi</span></span> [[User talk:Drmargi#top|<big>✉</big>]] ASAP.

The purpose of this message is because Linter errors affect the way the page looks, and with a lot of errors, the page may render badly. To reduce Linter errors, please change your signature. See WP:SIGFONT for more info.

If the software doesn't accept my replacement signature, let me know, and I may give you another replacement signature to use. Otherwise, you may have to change it to something else. Sheep (talkhe/him) 18:21, 18 October 2023 (UTC)

Happy First Edit Day!

  • one, I most certainly didnt copy it from anywhere, and 2 I watched the episode and that was in it so I have no idea where you get I need a source - all the synopsis are just watchers of episodes = there is NEVER a source. Please in no uncertain terms show me even one ever anywhere in wikipedia an editor had a "source" for a single thing thas was anypart of an episode's synopis2600:8800:FF0E:300:FD3F:2233:F632:F17F (talk) 16:32, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
Don’t be ridiculous. I couldn’t care less about you, and if I’ve edited you on another article, it’s pure coincidence. Now go learn to capitalize, punctuate and spell. ----Dr.Margi 06:29, 30 January 2024 (UTC)

Custom signature fix needed

Hi there! You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. Changes to Wikipedia's software have made your current custom signature invalid.

The problem: Your signature contains a syntax error or obsolete HTML tags.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, you can fix your signature, or you can do nothing.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:

  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box.
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (Do not click the red "Restore all default settings" button, which will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)

Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:

  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Click the Learn more button next to the error to learn how to fix the error.
  3. Update your signature to fix the error.
  4. Click Save to update to your newly fixed signature.

Solution 3: Do nothing:

  1. In accordance with a recent request for comment, all invalid signatures will be changed to the default, which looks like "Example (talk)", one month from now.

If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:05, 2 February 2024 (UTC)

A bit strange, if I may say so, that you would bother to revert this without ever having talken part in the talk page discussion there. Shall we assume that you like all that tedious name-dropping in the lead? SergeWoodzing (talk) 04:39, 8 February 2024 (UTC)

Unexplained Revert of my Edit

I'm assuming this was a mistake? There was no edit summary to explain the revert. Line of Duty does not use the term "seasons", it uses series. Appearances seemed to be a more neutral term to avoid confusion from the series as a whole. TheDoctorWho (talk) 07:45, 22 March 2024 (UTC)

Jason Brown (figure skater)

I just enter the information as provided on the official ISU profile, although I suspect you are correct. If you have another source to contradict this, please feel free to add it. Bgsu98 (Talk) 23:20, 27 March 2024 (UTC)

Drmargi, please stop this madness. Universal Cable was Universal Content Productions all along on Mr Robot. 148.252.158.60 (talk) 22:35, 24 May 2024 (UTC)

That’s not the issue, and you know it. You’ve been reverted by multiple editors because you are adding incorrectly formatted information to the infobox. That has to stop. Drmargi (talk) 00:15, 25 May 2024 (UTC)
Well it's already too late because you're blocked for a month. Much to that actually it is time that you finally reliaze that the other IP user who added info was corrected formatted information. 148.252.159.156 (talk) 23:54, 26 May 2024 (UTC)
This from someone who’s been IP hopping to evade your own block. It doesn’t alter the fact that you keep pushing an erroneous edit, and over multiple pages. Drmargi (talk) 02:23, 27 May 2024 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 month for repeated violations of the three-revert rule and the edit warring policy, as you did at Mr. Robot. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Daniel Quinlan (talk) 00:35, 25 May 2024 (UTC)

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

OK, I took a time out to step away from this issue and disconnect from the edit war. I know better where edit wars are concerned, but let myself be frustrated by an IP hopper forcing in an edit that several editors had already reverted and told him was incorrectly constructed. I've got other things that matter more here to work on, and will do so without further edit warring. The delay in requesting an unblock was a deliberate choice to give me time to "get over it" and find other places I'm interested in devoting my time. Drmargi (talk) 01:00, 1 June 2024 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action, or you have not responded to questions raised during that time. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Yamla (talk) 10:17, 16 June 2024 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Ouch, this is your seventh block for edit warring. I see a lot of merit in your unblock request and I see you have an incredibly long and constructive edit history. But, youch, your seventh block for edit warring? I'd support an unblock if you commit to WP:1RR. I want to be clear, other reviewing admins may well find your above unblock request compelling without any further restrictions (and if so, reviewing admin, please act!). My goal here is simply to ensure there is never an eighth block for edit warring here. If you, Drmargi, have another idea on how to ensure that, please let me know! --Yamla (talk) 12:14, 1 June 2024 (UTC)

I concur with Yamla that a 1RR restriction is a good idea; I also don't mind another admin acting. 331dot (talk) 14:01, 1 June 2024 (UTC)

Well, guys, let me preface this by saying I respect both of you as admins, and know you do a lot of block reviews.

I've been sitting with this for days, trying to come to another conclusion than the one I have, but I'm afraid I can't agree to the 1RR restriction. I already find the terms of this block excessive, and thus punitive, but to exchange that restriction for an open-ended 1RR restriction feels even more so. Yamla, and again with respect, you considered one factor in making your decision, the number of prior blocks, without any consideration of how long it's been since I was last blocked or how long/active my career with Wikipedia has been. Moreover, my having sat out the first week of the block as a cooling down period counted for almost nothing. There's no balance in the decision made, and that's why it all feels punitive to me.

Consequently, I will simply sit out the rest of the block, after which, if I still care enough to do so, will resume editing. Can I guarantee I won't edit war again? I don't know. There are few guarantees in life. All I can do is reflect on past incidents and endeavor to make a better decision next time, and all the blocks and 1RR restrictions in the world won't alter that. So, I'll carry on for a couple more weeks, then see everyone on June 24, maybe. --Drmargi (talk) 23:47, 7 June 2024 (UTC)

Olympics/Paralympics held in the USA

Howdy. I checked the other Olympic/Paralympic Games pages, that were hosted by the USA. The don't include the state names, in the infobox. GoodDay (talk) 16:58, 8 September 2024 (UTC)

Doesn’t make city names correct. American city names are always presented with their state names. This is an encyclopedia, and it’s incumbent on us to list those names correctly. Most of the state names were removed recently for no good reason. Drmargi (talk) 19:35, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
I forget where, but a consensus was reached to use only 'city, sovereign state' in the infobox. We do list sub-national designations in the intros, so there's no need to repeat in the infobox. GoodDay (talk) 20:20, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
