Start and Welcome!
editHere's my whack at it so far. I'll flip it up soon. I plan to start Chief Has No Horse (Chochoco, Ochoco) soon, too. All help and comments encouraged! Duff (talk) 01:40, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

- Hey, welcome back. Here's some more info:
- The treaty he signed was actually one of the 1865 treaties, officially called the Treaty with the Snake. [1] He signed as "Pah-ni-ne". Cheers! Katr67 (talk) 07:36, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks! Great info and I'll be weaving it in. Trying to straighten out and standardize my references approach on this too. Will now need to weave into the newly posted clip & paste copivio article at Chief Paulina, so scratching my head on the best way to do that. I thought, get it up to speed here in userspace, then integrate/merge. Duff (talk) 10:51, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
- On his signed name, according to my references and yours at *http://www.mailtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090628/NEWS/306289971/-1/LIFE11 , he signed with a mark, which the "translator" then syllabified as English spelling Pah-ni-ne; no diacritical marks. Shoshoni languages are tricky in pronunciation as well as in translation. It would be great to have a sonic event at the beginning of the article, right after the name, containing a correct pronunciation. Duff (talk) 23:16, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
