editRe: User:Shrik88music
editI agree that Shrik88music hasn't abused other accounts or IPs. So, I agree not to restore the sockpuppeteer tag to his talk page. I don't think he realizes the importance of logging in every time he edits. Perhaps you could explain that to him. You are correct that I have lost a lot of patience with him, especially because he has stated (diff) that he is fluent in English and yet he continues to communicate in sometimes unintelligible textspeak. --Geniac (talk) 01:01, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

editdoes the incomplete sentence make any sense ? He formed on screen pairs with many actresses but his pairing especially with actresses like Sharmila Tagore, Asha Parekh, Mumtaz, Hema Malini, Tina Munim, Shabana Azmi, Smita Patil and Poonam Dhillon.......what? it needs to be mentioned that these were the most popular as they delivered big hits as a pair... references have been provided by me ....just see the wiki page of my last versionShrik88music (talk) 19:04, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
HI there
editLooks like our friend is back to old tricks with J.G. Wentworth page. I filed a sockpuppet report, not sure what else I should do. I am certain it is the same editor with different users as the edits are the same as they were before. I want to make sure I follow proper procedure... Anything else I can do?

GOCE drive invitation
editGreetings from the Guild of Copy Editors
The latest GOCE backlog elimination drive is under way! It began on 1 July and so far 18 people have signed up to help us reduce the number of articles in need of copyediting. This drive will give a 50% bonus for articles edited from the GOCE requests page. Although we have cleared the backlog of 2009 articles there are still 3,935 articles needing copyediting and any help, no matter how small, would be appreciated. We are appealing to all GOCE members, and any other editors who wish to participate, to come and help us reduce the number of articles needing copyediting, as well as the backlog of requests. If you have not signed up yet, why not take a look at the current signatories and help us by adding your name and copyediting a few articles. Barnstars will be given to anyone who edits more than 4,000 words, with special awards for the top 5 in the categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", and "Number of articles of over 5,000 words". |

editThanks for your intervention in re John Peter Grant. You and i and Sitush have made contributions since, some of which have disappeared from the talk page. The last one I made on the additional page this morning vanished after i saved it. The aim was let Sitush know that the 1827 date can't be edited out just now on the face of what the British Library, whom I've contacted about it, says about the file I mentioned in a previous one, already also removed. If you know any way these entries can be recovered, please let me know. I have so far, out of politeness, - of which I do not have a great store, admittedly - not drawn the attention of either of you to another fundamental rule of Wikipedia, which probably derives from George Orwell. It says that if any rule prevents you from improving Wikipedia, ignore it. Just now I think I am making use of this rule, but it could be that the result will be an improvement, if the notes I make on talk pages don't vanish without explanation.Delahays (talk) 13:07, 7 November 2014 (UTC)

Inspiring 3O
editThanks a lot for inspiring incessant and continuing personal slurs like this and this ! --SergeWoodzing (talk) 12:21, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
- I'm sorry you feel that way. One of these diffs could certainly have been worded better. If you have concerns about a user's conduct, you're always free to look at dispute resolution options. — e. ripley\talk 15:07, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
- I cannot accept your apology as long as you have caused relentless and unsubstantiated personal slurs like this (yes another one) and refuse to do anything about it yourself. It's like the kid who totally fowled up some lady's kitchen, making it practically impossible for her to cook anymore, and then ran away and hid. You have given that user substantial support in continuing to be obnoxious and to keep infesting our enWP articles with often incomprehensible Swenglish. Happy? --SergeWoodzing (talk) 04:35, 15 November 2014 (UTC)
- And just so you know whom you have supported, and continue to support in your total silence on his mischief, it's someone who out of revenge and spite and frivolity does things like this and this and this and this, all because I've asked him to be more careful with his Swenglish. Since you don't know Swedish, you can't clean up the mess he leaves time and time again in enWP articles ("Notes to self"), because you can't figure out what he means. That leaves me, and the slight possibility of someone else who knows Swedish and cares, to go on doing so. Lovely! --SergeWoodzing (talk) 13:17, 17 November 2014 (UTC)
- The paranoia knows no bounds. The Commons deletions were legitimate test cases as to how Commons interprets to its own policies. I resent your exclusionary remarks to the effect that I am either hounding you and/or purposely out to destroy “your” enwp. - "Paranoia" is another one of your irrelevant personal insults to add to the list. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 06:42, 19 November 2014 (UTC)

Adoption
editHello, I am looking to be adopted as a new Wikipedia user. Would you available to adopt me at this time? I would like to become involved in copy editing articles and editing pages that I have knowledge regarding. Nutshell9 (talk) 05:12, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for your help. I have also recently been using the Hatnote Recent Changes map to view recently edited pages and check to see if vandalism is happening (and revert edits if it is). Is there a group I could get involved in that is related to that? Thank you! Nutshell9 (talk) 17:53, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
John Peter Grant
editI am sorry that you got dragged into the John Peter Grant saga but also very appreciative of how you handled it. It looks likely that the other party has decided to withdraw, which is a shame but perhaps not unexpected. Some day, I'll find the time to pursue some of the lines that they mentioned and expand the article generally. I've just gained access to Questia and there seem to be quite a lot of mentions of him in the Jamaican context. - Sitush (talk) 21:00, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
DRN needs assistance
editYou are receiving this message because you have listed yourself as a volunteer at the Dispute Resolution Noticeboard.
We have a backlog of cases there which need volunteer attention. If you have time available, please take one or more of these cases.
If you do not intend to take cases or help with the administration of DRN on a regular basis, or if you do not wish to receive further notices of this nature, please remove your username from the volunteer list. If you later decide to resume activities at DRN you may relist your name at that time.

Help needed at DRN
editYou are receiving this message because you are signed up as a volunteer at the Dispute Resolution Noticeboard. We have a number of pending requests which need a volunteer to address them. Unless you are an inexperienced volunteer who is currently just watching DRN to learn our processes, please take a case. If you do not see yourself taking cases in the foreseeable future, please remove yourself from the volunteer list so that we can have a better idea of the size of our pool of volunteers; if you do see yourself taking cases, please watchlist the DRN page and keep an eye out to see if there are cases which are ready for a volunteer. We have recently had to refuse a number of cases because they were listed for days with no volunteer willing to take them, despite there being almost 150 volunteers listed on the volunteer page. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. DRN help needed and volunteer roll call
editYou are receiving this message because you have listed yourself on the list of volunteers at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard/Volunteering#List of the DRN volunteers.
First, assistance is needed at DRN. We have recently closed a number of cases without any services being provided for lack of a volunteer willing to take the case. There are at least three cases awaiting a volunteer at this moment. Please consider taking one.
Second, this is a volunteer roll call. If you remain interested in helping at DRN and are willing to actively do so by taking at least one case (and seeing it through) or helping with administrative matters at least once per calendar month, please add your name to this roll call list. Individuals currently on the principal volunteer list who do not add their name on the roll call list will be removed from the principal volunteer list after June 30, 2016 unless the DRN Coordinator chooses to retain their name for the best interest of DRN or the encyclopedia. Individuals whose names are removed after June 30, 2016, should feel free to re-add their names to the principal volunteer list, but are respectfully requested not to do so unless they are willing to take part at DRN at least one time per month as noted above. No one is going to be monitoring to see if you live up to that commitment, but we respectfully ask that you either live up to it or remove your name from the principal volunteer list.

SITUSH - this editor, having responded with abuse to my previous attempt to sort out his treatment of John Peter Grant as Governor of Jamaica (included in the abuse was a statement - still there I think - that he wasn't going to study Jamaican history, which from a Wikipedia editor insults Jamaica, even if it is within some guideline or other he has invented, perhaps) has now reverted a modest attempt to improve it I edited in, claiming that it is unsourced. I actually used one of the three books in his booklist, mentioning I had done so - he clearly hasn't read it. As it happens I live in Inverness, and knew one of the last generation before the current one of the Grants of Rothiemurchus, slightly - now dead alas, a friend of my wife's. I also have a history degree of sorts and have been working on the Highland connection with Jamaica for about ten years. I don't dispute that Sitush may know about Bengal which Grant also governed, but the article in its current state has only a bare mention of the fact. This sort of thing destroys any reputation Wikipedia may claim, and to ask for subscriptions while permitting it is fairly close to fraud. I'm not asking you to get involved - just putting my side in case you are dragged back in. - DelahaysDelahays (talk) 10:16, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
