Andhra Box Office is a blog. No indication that it suffices as a reliable source per WP:UGC

edit

Hi there, for your edification, the Indian Cinema Task Force at Wikipedia doesn't generally consider Andhra Box Office a reliable source for financial figures, as it is a blog run by unknown parties. There is no clear editorial oversight, and no presumption that the data is collected by seasoned journalists trained in the art of ethical journalism. Thus, we stick to what mainstream sources with established reputations for fact-checking and accuracy have to say. Please refrain from using this source as a reference at Wikipedia. Note also that Indian film financial data is all based on guesswork. There are no absolutes and it is not a healthy practice to obsess about these figures. Thank you, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:35, 5 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

You also need to stop making edits like this, where your attempt to reformat a reference results in a broken reference. Scroll down and click on the [2] after the gross figure. You wind up here. This doesn't help prove anything. See Referencing for Beginners if you want to learn how to add references. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:01, 5 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Malformed references and other issues

edit

This change resulted in a malformed reference. This change also resulted in a malformed reference. This change also results in a malformed reference. In all cases, the links don't take readers to actual articles, rather, you're sending them to these sites' main page. This is useless. Note that if you keep submitting problematic references like this, it's going to quickly be considered disruptive. Since I'm sure that's not your motivation, I strongly recommend you familiarise yourself with Referencing for Beginners.

Re: this edit, we no longer use INRConvert in infoboxes. Please refrain from doing this. There were several reason for why we no longer do this, which you can read about by searching the archives at WT:ICTF. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:28, 5 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Diffs: [1][2] Hi again, I've already brought this to your attention a few times. If you keep submitting malformed references, you are probably going to wind up blocked to prevent damage to the encyclopedia. Most of your links point to the main page of news websites instead of the specific articles. Please be sure you're linking to the specific article. Also, please stop using {{INRConvert}} in the infobox. Consensus prefers the exclusion of this template. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:46, 5 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Keep in mind too, that even if you can find a source that says that Arrambam made 80 crore in 3 weeks, that does not mean that it did not make 124 crore (2015 reference) over 5 weeks or 10 weeks, or that it released later in China or somewhere else where it had a boost in ticket sales. We do not cherrypick data. If there is a difference of opinion in gross at the time the film was released it might be prudent to use a range, i.e. 80–124 crore. But do not conform data to your personal perspective just because you don't happen to like the numbers in the article. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:55, 5 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did with this edit to Ghilli. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Home Lander (talk) 22:14, 21 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Billa (2007 film). This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Diffs: [3] and the same thing here. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:14, 22 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
