EPennington
Welcome!
editHello, EPennington, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Yesterday/Today/Tomorrow, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome! Storchy (talk) 10:27, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, I work with the organisation who's page I am editing at the request of the founder Bryan McCormack. I have never edited a Wikipedia Page before and so I do not really know what to do to ensure successful references for the text my boss had provided in order to update our page? Thank you EPennington (talk) 12:57, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hello, please read WP:Conflict of interest. The edits you are making have a strongly promotional tone, even if that wasn't your intention. As an editor with a clear conflict of interest, you must follow the process laid out there, by requesting edits at the talk page. Thank you. Storchy (talk) 15:35, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you - I am now in the process of also adding citations and references to the article EPennington (talk) 15:41, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- Please stop. References are not the problem, it's the promotional tone of what you're adding. Have you read WP:Conflict of interest yet? Please do so now. Storchy (talk) 16:14, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- I have yes and I do understand it. However, this is the text our founder provided for me to update our page with. I shall attempt to alter with a netural tone. EPennington (talk) 16:17, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- What is your connection with the group please? You haven't disclosed this yet, as requested above. Storchy (talk) 16:21, 7 September 2022 (UTC)

- Thank you. Please read WP:Paid-contribution disclosure, particularly the part that reads "those with a conflict of interest, including paid editors, are very strongly discouraged from directly editing affected articles, but should post content proposals on the talk pages of existing articles". - we aren't paying anyone to edit.... my 3 hours of edits have again been reverted. Not thrilled. I am following guidelines. EPennington (talk) 16:29, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- Even if you are an unpaid member of the organisation, the third paragraph at the top of WP:Conflict of interest reads: "COI editors are strongly discouraged from editing affected articles directly, and can propose changes on article talk pages instead." This policy is designed to keep Wikipedia articles as neutral and unbiased as possible. Thank you. Storchy (talk) 16:35, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- How can I propose changes? i only see minor edits or major edits as an option? EPennington (talk) 16:42, 7 September 2022 (UTC)

Since the article was already published before you started editing it, you could simply propose the changes you want to be made at Talk:Yesterday/Today/Tomorrow. For more information on how to do this, please see the summary at WP:Suggestions for COI compliance. More detailed information, please see WP:Edit requests. Thanks, Storchy (talk) 16:52, 7 September 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Yesterday Today Tomorrow
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Yesterday Today Tomorrow requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.yttassociation.org/ytt-approach. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Theroadislong (talk) 17:40, 7 September 2022 (UTC)

Paid editing
edit As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:EPennington, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=EPennington|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. Theroadislong (talk) 17:42, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- I shall stop from editing and tell our founder the edits cannot be made. EPennington (talk) 17:43, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- To avoid deleation of the page, I shall stop all editing from this point forward. Thank you EPennington (talk) 17:47, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
