718 Bot's image exchanges

Greetings. I'm a fan of 718 Bot, and especially its PNG conversions. But is this a problem? The old image was given a {{deletable image-caption}}, but the image was replaced without removing the caption. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on this. All the best, – Quadell (talk)

east probably won't be around to give his thoughts for a while, as he is currently on an indefinite wiki-break. لennavecia 18:19, 2 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:PimpC.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:PimpC.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:36, 1 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Review of unblock request

See User talk:Mavol. He says all the right things, and I am inclined to unblock him and give him another chance. He's been blocked a year, and has pledged to abide by Wikipedia's external links rules, which was what he ran afoul of before. I was just giving you the courtesy of commenting before I acted on his request. Do you have any reason why I should not unblock him at this time? --Jayron32.talk.contribs 18:34, 1 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

east is on an indefinite break and has not edited in quite some time. Chances are slim that he will comment on this in the near future. لennavecia 19:29, 1 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Oh snap. I looked at his contribs history and noticed that the latest edit was April 30th. However, it looks like all of his edits since mid march were done by his bot, which is why I thought he was still around. Oh well. If you run into him, let him know about this. I will wait a few days to see if he pops his head in. If he does not, I will go ahead and unblock since he cannot be reached. Thanks for the heads-up. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 20:48, 1 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Reverting

Hello. I was wondering if you would be willing to restore the images Image:GMTVpresenters.jpg, File:GMTVlogo.gif, and File:GMTV.JPG. I have the appropriate source and copyright information for those two images. RingtailedFoxTalkContribs 05:47, 2 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

The first is not appropriate for restoration, as it pictures living people from an on-going show who could, theoretically, be photographed together and freely licensed. For the other two, I see the article already contains logos, so for what purpose do you need to add two more? لennavecia 18:15, 2 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Well, those are older "historical" logos that are no longer used. I thought it would be appropriate to show them at least in the history section. As for the image with the presenters... i suppose you're right on that. It wouldn't be fair to post a picture of them online without permission, that would invade their privacy. RingtailedFoxTalkContribs 20:03, 2 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Considering the images are copyrighted, it's a hard claim to fair use for so many images. Such images should be limited in articles. For living people in particular, not due to privacy issues, merely that they are replaceable. You cannot, for example, replace a logo with a free version, because you'd just be recreating a copyrighted work, but you can photograph living people and freely license. لennavecia 11:41, 4 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Editor review

Hello there. I remembered you from my previous RfA, where you had been a vocal opposer. I wondered if you could comment on my current editor review, as I feel it would be best to see if those who hadn't thought of me as highly of me five months ago now think I have improved. east is away from the project for an undetermined amount of time. لennavecia 11:42, 4 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Woah

You have...10 times more administrative actions then edits...that's scary. ResMar 23:42, 7 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

An admin bot runs on his account daily, thus his current edit history despite being away from the project. Similarly, he's used deletion scripts to facilitate in quickly removing large numbers of inappropriate files from the project, thus inflating his admin actions count. لennavecia 01:11, 8 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

My Userpage - Help

Hello. I used your code to show adminstats and created the subpage. Oddly enough on my page, I can enter any other administrator's name, and the stats show up. However, when I use my own, it's blank. Do you have any idea why that would be? Cheers. Law type! snype? 03:53, 17 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

east is away from the project for an undetermined amount of time, but I think I can help you with this. The bot runs every 24 hours, so within a day of you using the template, the stats should appear. I don't believe you can enter "any other administrator's name" and get stats, but surely any other admin who uses this template. If it doesn't work tomorrow, let me know. لennavecia 04:27, 17 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
OIC. Thank you. I will hang tight. Law type! snype? 04:29, 17 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Protect USMA as today's TFA?

I see that you've added USMA to the protection log, but the article can still be edited and has been vandalized several times already in the last hour. Is just replaced some vandalism myself. Any way to lock the page until it is no longer the TFA?  Ahodges7   talk 00:52, 25 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

The protection added by east718's bot is move protection. The main page articles are not edit protected except in extreme circumstances. See WP:NOPRO. لennavecia 02:56, 25 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
