Sara Evans photo

edit

I'm sorry but that photo you keep putting back on is not good. It does not even look like her, I know it is but it just doesn't look like her and she usually has straight hair, not curly hair and I believe it would be best to have an image that is more recognizable than one that isn't.

Also, this site is not a place for games, this is a serious site, just because YOU uploaded that pic doesn't mean that it's the one thst should be used. It's not a contest, it's not a race, the best stuff is used, not your stuff. --Faris b 20:01, 31 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

My only problem is with the Sara Evans photo. It doesn't look like her, can you get a different photo then? Your LeAnn Rimes and Faith Hill photos are good but the Sara Evans one needs to be changed, again because it doesn't look like her. --Faris b 20:54, 1 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for changing the photo, that one is much better.

Your pics

edit

Ok, no offense, I know you're trying to do something right but can you please STOP submitting images without copyright info? They will be deleted if you don't.

Also, I'm sorry to tell you this but if you submit www.myspace.com as the copyright holder you might as well submit Google as the copyright holder, you need the SOURCE website from where it ORIGINALLY came from like for example www.saraevans.com or something like that. I'm just trying to help here, I hate seeing images get deleted.

Orphaned fair use image (Image:SaraEvansphoto-2.jpg)

edit
  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:SaraEvansphoto-2.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 16:40, 23 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Real Fine Place Swing22.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Real Fine Place Swing22.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 22:43, 28 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

IMAGES!

edit

Hello? Do you not read these? I ask you this one more time because I care. Why do you keep messing with images for country singers without giving sources? They have all been deleted. You will be 'permanently banned if you keep it up.

If you don't know how to reply, go to the top of either this page or my userpage by clicking "edit this page" at the top and then write a response.

Faris b 03:46, 1 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry if you don't like it...somebody needs to update these pages and i am the only one who will do it and i'm sorry if i don't know how to do copyrighting correctly but at least i am trying to update these really old pictures everywhere....if you are going to keep berating me, please fix the pictures and stop putting these old pictures up...put new stuff!

No, it's not that I'm complaining about, I'm just worried that you'll get yourself banned in the process by continuing this. You've been banned once, the 2nd time, I believe, is permanent. I don't mind current pics but you can't just go to Google and choose the image you want, it doesn't work that way, you need to go to the artis's page (www.saraevans.com) or something like that and get a photo, then you know the copyright. I tried that, but I could only find the copyright info for 2 of your many pics you submitted and those 2 remain but the rest get deleted. I have raised several country singers' articles from stub status and such and when I put pictures, I would go to the artist's official site or something like that to get photos.

Sara Evans

edit

You said: "Can you please find a good and recent picture of Sara Evans with detailed copyright info because there is currently no picture because you revoked mine"

It is very difficult to find images that are not protected by copyright. We certainly can use some that are copyrighted under the appropriate license and detailed fair-use rationale but I prefer to avoid copyrighted images altogether. Are you aware of any images of this person which are not copyrighted? --Yamla 04:23, 1 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please STOP

edit

Please stop uploading wrongly tagged photos. You cannot simply take photos for a fan site and then tag them with a "copyright, but nobody cares, free use" - fansites are not a reliable source, they do not care about copyright, but we must.

Please take a break, have a long and hard read over our copyright policies and guidelines (WP:IUP, WP:C, WP:TAG, ... for starters).

Final Warning
Stop reinserting images which have been removed because of legal and fair use concerns. Your actions can be seen as vandalism. If you do one more such edit you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. You may not get another warning before being blocked.

Thanks/wangi 22:08, 1 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked for 24 hours from editing Wikipedia because of your vandalism to User talk:Wangi. If you wish to make useful contributions, you may do so after the block expires. See your block log for more details. wangi 23:03, 1 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Once your ban has expired please feel free to use me as a mentor (of sorts), when uploading images - It's much easier for everyone involved if you get it right. However I am away for a few weeks. Thanks/wangi 02:16, 2 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Always_Album_Cover.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Always_Album_Cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Image:Feels_Like_Home.jpg

edit

I have tagged Image:Feels_Like_Home.jpg as {{orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. If this image is being used as a link target instead of displayed inline, please add {{not orphan}} to the image description page to prevent it being accidentally marked as orphaned again. BigrTex 21:56, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image:Jdmdc2005.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Jdmdc2005.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex 19:15, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
