Latest tech news from the Wikimedia technical community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you. Translations are available.
Recent changes
- The
Special:Book
page (as well as the associated "Create a book" functionality) provided by the old Collection extension has been removed from all Wikisource wikis, as it was broken. This does not affect the ability to download normal books, which is provided by the Wikisource extension. [1] - Wikitech now uses the next-generation Parsoid wikitext parser by default to generate all pages in the Talk namespace. Report any problems on the Known Issues discussion page. You can use the ParserMigration extension to control the use of Parsoid; see the ParserMigration help documentation for more details.
- Maintenance on etherpad is completed. If you encounter any issues, please indicate in this ticket.
- Gadgets allow interface admins to create custom features with CSS and JavaScript. The
Gadget
andGadget_definition
namespaces andgadgets-definition-edit
user right were reserved for an experiment in 2015, but were never used. These were visible on Special:Search and Special:ListGroupRights. The unused namespaces and user rights are now removed. No pages are moved, and no changes need to be made. [2] - A usability improvement to the "Add a citation" in Wikipedia workflow has been made, the insert button was moved to the popup header. [3]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 5 March. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 6 March. It will be on all wikis from 7 March (calendar). [4][5]
Future changes
- All wikis will be read-only for a few minutes on March 20. This is planned at 14:00 UTC. More information will be published in Tech News and will also be posted on individual wikis in the coming weeks. [6]
- The HTML markup of headings and section edit links will be changed later this year to improve accessibility. See Heading HTML changes for details. The new markup will be the same as in the new Parsoid wikitext parser. You can test your gadget or stylesheet with the new markup if you add
?useparsoid=1
to your URL (more info) or turn on Parsoid read views in your user options (more info).

Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 12 March. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 13 March. It will be on all wikis from 14 March (calendar). [7][8]
- After consulting with various communities, the line height of the text on the Minerva skin will be increased to its previous value of 1.65. Different options for typography can also be set using the options in the menu, as needed. [9]
- The active link color in Minerva will be changed to provide more consistency with our other platforms and best practices. [10]
- Structured data on Commons will no longer ask whether you want to leave the page without saving. This will prevent the “information you’ve entered may not be saved” popups from appearing when no information have been entered. It will also make file pages on Commons load faster in certain cases. However, the popups will be hidden even if information has indeed been entered. If you accidentally close the page before saving the structured data you entered, that data will be lost. [11]

Need clarification
Hi @Eejit43
Thanks for paying attention to my translation of Teghenyats Monastery. You've sent it to draft without mentioning the reason. To be able to improve it I need your comments to know where exatly pay attention to.
Best regards
@Nare Adams Nare Adams (talk) 07:23, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Nare Adams I actually did specify a reason, that being that it needs more sources to establish notability. In fact, the far majority of the text is unreferenced and needs reliable sources in order to both prove notability, and back up the claims made in the text.
- The text is also not entirely written in a neutral tone, and I see some puffery wording. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 13:48, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Eejit43 thanks for clarifications. I added sources, while the "puffery wording" is pure citation from the historians of the time. Hope you will have time to review the new version of the article. Nare Adams (talk) 20:16, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
- The entirety of "Architectural structures" and the far majority of "The Archaeological Description" remain unreferenced. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 20:21, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Eejit43
- I appriciate your attention and aspiration to improve the article, but I have a problem. Now I can't find the article. Can you help me with it? Nare Adams (talk) 20:50, 13 March 2024 (UTC)

afcrc-helper stuck on categories
Hi Eejit43 and thank you for the afcrc-helper script you created!
One small problem: the script seems to be stuck on Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Categories. When the tool is used, it's simply blank without any requests or error messages displayed. Clicking "run" makes it show "No requests have been handled!".
However, the script works fine on Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Redirects, so I don't really know what's going on.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could look into this issue.
CanonNi (talk) 12:42, 17 March 2024 (UTC)
- I'll take a look shortly, it is likely getting caught on parsing something in a request... ~ Eejit43 (talk) 13:59, 17 March 2024 (UTC)
- I've added some new checks to handle more variations in the way requests are written, and it should now run properly! Thanks so much for reporting, and I'm glad you're finding the script useful! :) ~ Eejit43 (talk) 14:25, 17 March 2024 (UTC)

Recent changes
- The notice "Language links are at the top of the page" that appears in the Vector 2022 skin main menu has been removed now that users have learned the new location of the Language switcher. [14]
- IP info feature displays data from Spur, an IP addresses database. Previously, the only data source for this feature was MaxMind. Now, IP info is more useful for patrollers. [15]
- The Toolforge Grid Engine services have been shut down after the final migration process from Grid Engine to Kubernetes. [16][17][18]
- Communities can now customize the default reasons for undeleting a page by creating MediaWiki:Undelete-comment-dropdown. [19]
Problems
- RevisionSlider is an interface to interactively browse a page's history. Users in right-to-left languages reported RevisionSlider reacting wrong to mouse clicks. This should be fixed now. [20]

"Category request" and "Redirect request" heading prefixes
Hi,
thanks for all your work at WP:AfC/R! It occurred to me just now that putting "Category request" at the start of every section heading on the category requests page and "Redirect request" on the redirect requests page doesn't make much sense. It did make sense when there was a joint page for both, obviously, but now it's just clutter. Dropping the phrases wouldn't make much of a difference on the pages themselves, I'd say - but it would be quite noticeable in their sidebar ToCs, where they currently have the effect of making many entries a line longer than they really need to be. To illustrate:
“ | Redirect request: En Vivo Puros Corridos Redirect request: Del Barrio Redirect request: Del Barrio Redirect request: Alma Vacia, Redirect request: Manana Sera Redirect request: Manana Sera |
” |
I know next to nothing about the automated aspect of these pages, though, so I figured I'd just pass this thought along to someone who hopefully knows a bit more.
Thanks again!

- That's a very good idea! The only issue I could see running into would be for empty requests, but I think we could work around that. I'll propose this to other editors and see what they think! Thank you! :) ~ Eejit43 (talk) 21:43, 21 March 2024 (UTC)

New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024
Hello Eejit43,
Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.
Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.
Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.
It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!
2023 Awards
Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!
WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.
Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.
Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.
Reminders:
- You can access live chat with patrollers on the New Pages Patrol Discord.
- Consider adding the project discussion page to your watchlist.
- To opt out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.
Change made for Red Line
Dear @Eejit43,
The Karnataka State Govt had prepared the DPR for this new line and I've attached the references for this proposed line. Kindly check and revert back the page. Thank you. Santosh4118 (talk) 17:29, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- I don't contest that, but Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, and the track's notability hasn't been proven. I'm not going to edit war with you, however, and will wait for another reviewer to take a look. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 17:32, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
Redirect-helper script
Sorry to bother you— would you mind adding the {{r to natural disambiguation}} rcat to the list of available templates in your redirect-helper script? Thanks, Cremastra (talk) 19:56, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- Of course! If you could add it to WP:ALLRCATS (along with {{R from natural disambiguation}} it seems...), that would help, as I have a a script that parses templates from that list. If not I'll get to it later today. Thanks for pointing that out! :) ~ Eejit43 (talk) 20:09, 2 April 2024 (UTC)

- Is there a way for you guys at categories for creation to take a more critical eye to the Churches by dependent territory? I've had a bring a ton of these to CFD lately. The IP that's requesting them is a known troll WP:LTA/HKGW. Mason (talk) 00:48, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you, I wasn't aware of this LTA case. To be honest the categories seemed fine when going through them originally, especially as there are likely more pages that would apply. I'm not opposed to any of the proposals you have made, and please do check the previous approved requests at WP:AFC/C if you'd like.
- I'll make sure not to accept any similar requests, thanks! ~ Eejit43 (talk) 00:53, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
- No worries! I wasn't aware that it was a long-term issue until a day or two ago. And, I agree that on the surface the nominations look fine, but what seems to happen is two things: 1) the category doesn't actually need diffusion by century, and 2) the IP is taking a really unique interpretation of dependent territory, and is using this as a means to remove them from the parent nation the category is nested in. Mason (talk) 01:10, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

Recent changes
- Web browsers can use tools called extensions. There is now a Chrome extension called Citation Needed which you can use to see if an online statement is supported by a Wikipedia article. This is a small experiment to see if Wikipedia can be used this way. Because it is a small experiment, it can only be used in Chrome in English.
- A new Edit Recovery feature has been added to all wikis, available as a user preference. Once you enable it, your in-progress edits will be stored in your web browser, and if you accidentally close an editing window or your browser or computer crashes, you will be prompted to recover the unpublished text. Please leave any feedback on the project talk page. This was the #8 wish in the 2023 Community Wishlist Survey.
- Initial results of Edit check experiments have been published. Edit Check is now deployed as a default feature at the wikis that tested it. Let us know if you want your wiki to be part of the next deployment of Edit check. [30][31]
- Readers using the Minerva skin on mobile will notice there has been an improvement in the line height across all typography settings. [32]

- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 9 April. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 10 April. It will be on all wikis from 11 April (calendar). [33][34]
- New accounts and logged-out users will get the visual editor as their default editor on mobile. This deployment is made at all wikis except for the English Wikipedia. [35]

Problems
- Between 2 April and 8 April, on wikis using Flagged Revisions, the "Reverted" tag was not applied to undone edits. In addition, page moves, protections and imports were not autoreviewed. This problem is now fixed. [36][37]

- Default category sort keys will now affect categories added by templates placed in footnotes. Previously footnotes used the page title as the default sort key even if a different default sort key was specified (category-specific sort keys already worked). [40]
- A new variable
page_last_edit_age
will be added to abuse filters. It tells how many seconds ago the last edit to a page was made. [41]
Future changes
- Volunteer developers are kindly asked to update the code of their tools and features to handle temporary accounts. Learn more.
- Four database fields will be removed from database replicas (including Quarry). This affects only the
abuse_filter
andabuse_filter_history
tables. Some queries might need to be updated. [42]

What was happening on Talk:2021-2022 inflation surge?
AnomieBOT was probably running into a misbug where it bypasses triple-and-more redirects but keeps re-processing the page. Normally this doesn't cause a problem since the re-processing is normally just null edits. But why were you edit warring with it to remove a colon from the target and remove the (useful, IMO) redirect categorization templates? Anomie⚔ 11:50, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Anomie that you for mentioning that, I was going to bring it up with you later. {{R avoided double redirect}} was out of date and throwing an error. I can't seem to reproduce that error right now, however, though it was somehow related to the earlier move. As such, I ran my user script, redirect-helper on the subject page to resolve that double redirect, assuming the talk page would have had the same issue. Seems like there must have been a caching issue on the page, and as such it kept throwing the error when AnomieBot updated the page. Seems like it is resolved now, thankfully. If not, I'll dig into the issue a bit more deeply.
- And while you are here: {{R from modification}} should be switched out with the new {{R from alternative hyphenation}}. Thanks! :) ~ Eejit43 (talk) 14:28, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
- I forgot to mention, my tool automatically removes the auto-g8 (not specifically, but all non-whitelisted templates, something I'll can change). As for the redirect templates, I'm generally not a fan of having any rcats on talk pages aside from {{R from move}} as I think all it does is clog up tracking categories that would then have the subject page and talk page. I think it's better to just have the subject page categorized, but that is again just my opinion. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 14:33, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
- I wonder whether {{R avoided double redirect}} was complaining about Talk:2021–2022 inflation surge still pointing to Talk:2021–2023 inflation until someone fixed that double redirect. Anomie⚔ 16:05, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
- That would be it, yes! I got muddled around with that big chain of redirects. Thanks! ~ Eejit43 (talk) 16:33, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Anomie just FYI, alongside the change to {{R from alternative hyphenation}}, the use of {{no redirect}} is no longer needed with recent changes to those templates! ~ Eejit43 (talk) 02:20, 16 April 2024 (UTC)

This reminded me of three things (relating to the script):
- Feature request: currently the script suggests rcats e.g. r to section/anchor and r wikidata. It would be nice if you could just click on the warning text to add them.
- Second feature request: supporting rcat redirects from Category:Template redirects with possibilities. If it helps I have some code for this for Missing Redirects Project, see the source code and search for
fetchRcatsAndInit
. - I'm planning on nominating your tool for meta:Coolest Tool Award.

- 2. Another good idea, and I'll have to think about how I want to implement it. I'll also start on this soon (and maybe simply fetch rcats from the category as well, instead of parsing from WP:ALLRCATS)!
- 3. I'm honored, thank you! I'm glad this tool has been so useful.
- Again, thanks! :) ~ Eejit43 (talk) 23:17, 16 April 2024 (UTC)

Recent changes
- Starting this week, newcomers editing Wikipedia will be encouraged to try structured tasks. Structured tasks have been shown to improve newcomer activation and retention. [43]
- You can nominate your favorite tools for the fifth edition of the Coolest Tool Award. Nominations will be open until May 10.
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 23 April. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 24 April. It will be on all wikis from 25 April (calendar). [44][45]
Future changes
- This is the last warning that by the end of May 2024 the Vector 2022 skin will no longer share site and user scripts/styles with old Vector. For user-scripts that you want to keep using on Vector 2022, copy the contents of Special:MyPage/vector.js to Special:MyPage/vector-2022.js. There are more technical details available. Interface administrators who foresee this leading to lots of technical support questions may wish to send a mass message to your community, as was done on French Wikipedia. [46]

Query regarding redirect-helper warning
Hi Eejit43 - and thanks for building redirect-helper :)
I just had a query regarding a warning it gave me -- I was trying to create a redirect from Ffransis (given name) to Ffransis with the rcat {{R from unnecessary disambiguation}} (before I realised that Ffransis G. Payne would be a better target, as the rest of the people listed at Ffransis had it as a surname), and redirect-helper warned me that [t]his page is a redirect to a surname list, but it is not tagged with a correct disambiguation categorization template
. I was slightly confused by this - it might be that I'm missing something, but I'm not sure what redirect template the script wanted me to use here!
All the best, —a smart kitten[meow] 09:59, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
- Ah, now I'm wondering if redirect-helper wanted me to use {{R from incomplete disambiguation}} -- I suppose whether the disambiguation is unnecessary or incomplete depends on whether or not a name list is thought of as more of a stand-alone list or as a tool for disambiguation. —a smart kitten[meow] 10:05, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
- redirect-helper considers valid surname list templates to be {{R from ambiguous sort name}} and {{R from ambiguous term}}. I hadn't thought of {{R from unnecessary disambiguation}} when creating that check.
- However, I think using both "R from ambiguous term" and "R from unnecessary disambiguation" would make sense, as the latter doesn't imply that the target is a disambiguation page (or in this case, a surname list).
- Does that sound right to you? Thanks! :) ~ Eejit43 (talk) 11:16, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
Bad move
You chose a bad move target for Tiden (newspaper, Arendal) because Tiden (newspaper) is also a Norwegian newspaper. Geschichte (talk) 04:11, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
- Whoops, thank you! I have no clue how I missed that. I'll fix that later, and likely make a disambiguation. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 11:08, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
- Done! Tiden (Arendal newspaper) is the new location, and the other newspaper has been moved to Tiden (Christiania newspaper). Tiden (newspaper) is now a redirect to the Tiden disambiguation page. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 13:30, 23 April 2024 (UTC)

afcrc-helper feauture request
Hi again - I was just wondering if it might be possible to add the feature to afcrc-helper
to be able to accept/decline some requests in a section, and leave the others for another reviewer to respond to? The use case for this in my mind is in case a reviewer feels confident responding to some requests in a section, but perhaps isn't personally sure about accepting or declining the others - which another reviewer might feel more happy to do. (I just attempted to do this myself at WP:AFC/R, but afcrc-helper didn't like that I hadn't selected a response for all the requests made in a given section.)
(I promise I'm still planning on replying in the section I started above about redirect-helper
, btw - I'm just very disorganised :P
)
All the best, —a smart kitten[meow] 12:56, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hello!
- This is actually something I had considered for a while. However, the implementation of this would be quite difficult, especially considering the script would need to account for actions other scripts take too. Parsing those sections could just lead to too many issues I think. At some point this might be something I look more into, but for the lack of usage I'm not sure it is necessarily worth it.
- Probably best just to leave requests open if you are unsure about part of it. Sorry!! :) ~ Eejit43 (talk) 13:16, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
- No problem - that makes sense. Since leaving this message, the potential complexity of implementing this started coming to my mind as well - so I can’t say I blame you for leaving it :) All the best, —a smart kitten[meow] 14:07, 26 April 2024 (UTC)

Latest tech news from the Wikimedia technical community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you. Translations are available.
Recent changes
- The appearance of talk pages changed for the following wikis: Azerbaijani Wikipedia, Bengali Wikipedia, German Wikipedia, Persian Wikipedia, Hebrew Wikipedia, Hindi Wikipedia, Indonesian Wikipedia, Korean Wikipedia, Dutch Wikipedia, Portuguese Wikipedia, Romanian Wikipedia, Thai Wikipedia, Turkish Wikipedia, Ukrainian Wikipedia, Vietnamese Wikipedia. These wikis participated to a test, where 50% of users got the new design, for one year. As this test gave positive results, the new design is deployed on these wikis as the default design. It is possible to opt-out these changes in user preferences ("Show discussion activity"). The deployment will happen at all wikis in the coming weeks. [47]
- Seven new wikis have been created:
- You can now watch message groups/projects on Translatewiki.net. Initially, this feature will notify you of added or deleted messages in these groups. [55]
- Dark mode is now available on all wikis, on mobile web for logged-in users who opt into the advanced mode. This is the early release of the feature. Technical editors are invited to check for accessibility issues on wikis. See more detailed guidelines.
Problems
- Kartographer maps can use an alternative visual style without labels, by using
mapstyle="osm"
. This wasn't working in previews, creating the wrong impression that it wasn't supported. This has now been fixed. [56]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 30 April. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 1 May. It will be on all wikis from 2 May (calendar). [57][58]

Recent changes
- The appearance of talk pages changed for all wikis, except for Commons, Wikidata and most Wikipedias (a few have already received this design change). You can read the detail of the changes on Diff. It is possible to opt-out these changes in user preferences ("Show discussion activity"). The deployment will happen at remaining wikis in the coming weeks. [59][60]
- Interface admins now have greater control over the styling of article components on mobile with the introduction of the
SiteAdminHelper
. More information on how styles can be disabled can be found at the extension's page. [61] - Wikimedia Enterprise has added article body sections in JSON format and a curated short description field to the existing parsed Infobox. This expansion to the API is also available via Wikimedia Cloud Services. [62]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 7 May. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 8 May. It will be on all wikis from 9 May (calendar). [63][64]
- When you look at the Special:Log page, the first view is labelled "All public logs", but it only shows some logs. This label will now say "Main public logs". [65]
Future changes
- A new service will be built to replace Extension:Graph. Details can be found in the latest update regarding this extension.
- Starting May 21, English Wikipedia and German Wikipedia will get the possibility to activate "Add a link". This is part of the progressive deployment of this tool to all Wikipedias. These communities can activate and configure the feature locally. [66]

- On Wikisource there is a special page listing pages of works without corresponding scan images. Now you can use the new magic word
__EXPECTWITHOUTSCANS__
to exclude certain pages (list of editions or translations of works) from that list. [67] - If you use the user-preference "Show preview without reloading the page", then the template-page feature "Preview page with this template (what's this?)" will now also work without reloading the page. [68]
- Kartographer maps can now specify an alternative text via the
alt=
attribute. This is identical in usage to thealt=
attribute in the image and gallery syntax. An exception for this feature is wikis like Wikivoyage where the miniature maps are interactive. [69] - The old Guided Tour for the "New Filters for Edit Review" feature has been removed. It was created in 2017 to show people with older accounts how the interface had changed, and has now been seen by most of the intended people. [70]

Possible bug with the RM/TR helper
Hi, just wanted to let you know, I tried to use the helper to handle a move in this revision of the helpdesk, but it threw an error, stating that the draft title for Luke Charlesworth is invalid. It might just be to do with my extensions, but I figured I'd let you know. ASUKITE 15:06, 17 May 2024 (UTC)

Recent changes
- The Nuke feature, which enables administrators to mass delete pages, will now correctly delete pages which were moved to another title. [77]
- New changes have been made to the UploadWizard in Wikimedia Commons: the overall layout has been improved, by following new styling and spacing for the form and its fields; the headers and helper text for each of the fields was changed; the Caption field is now a required field, and there is an option for users to copy their caption into the media description. - The HTML used to render all headings is being changed to improve accessibility. It will change on 22 May in some skins (Timeless, Modern, CologneBlue, Nostalgia, and Monobook). Please test gadgets on your wiki on these skins and report any related problems so that they can be resolved before this change is made in all other skins. The developers are also considering the introduction of a Gadget API for adding buttons to section titles if that would be helpful to tool creators, and would appreciate any input you have on that.

Another possible bug in RM/TR Helper
I noticed an issue today with RMTR Helper not loading. After a bit of trial and error, I finally narrowed it down to three move requests where the {{RMassist/core}} template didn't have spaces around all the pipe characters. I would suggest either replacing .split(" | ")
with .split(/\s*\|\s*/)
or adding some other error handling if finalParameters[2]
doesn't exist. --Ahecht (TALK

- @Eejit43 While I have your attention, it would also be nice to have the script automatically ping the requester when you leave a comment. I haven't tested it, but I believe that would look something like changing line 323 to
`\n${request.full}${request.result.reason ? `\n:: ` + ((request.requester && request.requester.length > 0) ? (mw.util.isIPAddress(request.requester) ? '' : `@[[User:${request.requester}|${request.requester}]] `) : '') + `${request.result.reason} ~~~~` : ''}$1`,
