April 2017

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Free Church of Scotland (since 1900). Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. James Fraser of Brea

Hi, I see you have linked the article James Fraser of Brea to the Siege of Inverness (1650) article. However, in the article about James Fraser of Brea it says that it was his father, Sir James Fraser, who held the castle during the siege. Therefore it is somewhat misleading to link from the siege article to the younger James Fraser. Really it should only link to an article about the elder Sir James Fraser.QuintusPetillius (talk) 10:39, 23 February 2019 (UTC)

Maybe there should be two articles: Rev James Fraser of Brea and Sir James Fraser of Brea. I'm not sure how Sir James, who died in 1649, could have been in command in 1650. His son, Rev James, was only 11 in 1650. There was another siege in 1649. Maybe the article could be expanded to explain the inconsistency. Thanks for changing the link in the article. Both Anderson and Mackenzie are stating that it was James Fraser of Brea. I suspect that Mackenzie used Anderson as his source. A minor problem

The NewPagesFeed (The place where your articles are tagged at) has a glitch where it says "Potential issues: Copyvio" and this is disrupting both AfC and NPP. Context; this article has not been materially updated or improved for several years; I've effectively rewritten it. So it's not clear to me why you feel entitled to reverse updates without the simple courtesy of asking for an explanation, if needed.

Missing cites in John Kid

The article cites "Irving 1881", "Rogers 1871", and "Wodrow 1929" but no such sources are listed in the bibliography. Can you please add? Wodrow seems to be a typo and should be "Wodrow 1835"?
