Hey : ) I started our 'leading paragraph' on the vocab development sandbox so that we'll hopefully have something there when we submit to DYK for Monday. Please add to it or revise things. Have a great weekend! Alindsay9 (talk) 06:13, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Erika, if you haven't already noticed on our page, I just wanted to let you know that Mr. Stradivarius set up our references and the short footnotes. This made it really easy to put page numbers in, so I did so for the books/articles in books that I used as references in my section. If you used any books, I thought you might wanted to do the same (although I know you mentioned previously that you already returned the books/only used chapters or articles, so this might not apply to you). I'll leave a message for Asia & Juliet as well. : ) Alindsay9 (talk) 15:20, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
DYK
editHi Heiberg,
Your course page says that nominating the article for DYK is part of your evaluation. I am willing to do it for you, but I would need your professor to let me know that was OK before I did so. The instructions for how to post a new DYK nomination are fairly straightforward; you should be able to do it without my help. If you are concerned about the page history standing in the way of you acheiving a DYK, I would recommend stating in the nomination that the article's expansion was developped entirely in a sandbox and only went live on the 12th. It would also be helpful to mention in the nomination that this expansion was part of the Canada Education Program; the evaluators are generally more amenable to DYK nominations that result from such programs. Let me know when the article has been nominated and I'll be glad to participate in the discussion.
DYK for Vocabulary development
editOn 30 March 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Vocabulary development, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that in vocabulary development from age six to eight, the average child in school is learning six to seven words per day? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
