Hello Electriclamb. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Ini Archibong, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Electriclamb. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Electriclamb|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Jack Frost (talk) 11:24, 27 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi @User:Jack Frost. Sorry I am new to wikipedia editing, as I wrote on your talk page I am definitely not being paid (sorry that might have not been the right place to do that? unsure :/), just a student doing research on this designer. I think he deserves a page on wikipedia as he is pretty famous. I have now deleted all language that sounded like I was praising him too much. please review the article and let me know what you think! thanks. again I am new to this so I would welcome any advice on how to write better wikipedia articles!Electriclamb (talk) 19:36, 27 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Ini Archibong

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ini Archibong, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Nomination of Samuel Ross for deletion

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Samuel Ross until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article.

Issuing level 1 warning about removing AfD template from articles before the discussion is complete. (Peachy 2.0 (alpha 8))

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Samuel Ross. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. This is an automated message from a bot about this edit, where you removed the deletion template from an article before the deletion discussion was complete. If this message is in error, please report it.—cyberbot ITalk to my owner:Online 17:32, 7 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Hi. I am appealing this block because there has been some kind of mistake or misunderstanding. I have been accused of 'sockpuppetry' but this is plainly untrue. This is my one and only wikipedia account, I am new so still learning the ropes and perhaps making some mistakes here and there, but I would really appreciate being unblocked as I have been enjoying editing and writing articles on wikipedia, and I would be sad not to be able to do it anymore. Is there any way I can prove that this accusation of sock puppetry is wrong? Maybe my IP address can be checked against the account which is wrongly believed to belong to me? I'd appreciate some help and guidance. Thank you! :-) Electriclamb (talk) 10:10, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Please address the concerns raised at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Louisehynes11/Archive. Yamla (talk) 12:14, 15 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello Yamla Sorry for late reply - I misunderstood what you asked me to do. Unfortunately it was a coincidence that the louisehynes11 account tried posting a page about Samuel Ross one month prior to mine. As I said I am new to wikipedia and have been doing a lot of small edits for two reasons: 1)Improve my wikipedia editing skills and get to know the platform better 2)Become an active and contributing member of the wikipedia community and earn trust from other members. In the long run I would like to keep submitting articles, specifically about artists & designers that I admire and think are deserving of wikipedia pages (this is my personal and academic interest in life). I have a list of other artists & designers I have been researching and would like to create new pages for, as well as a few pages (within the topic of art&design) I have spotted which I believe need improving and expanding. Please let me know if you need any more info! Thank you. Electriclamb (talk) 13:46, 21 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

{unblock|I am not the person who I am being accused of being. You can Google her and find her in two seconds. She works for Samuel Ross -- I do not. I am trying to develop new skills while improving my writing and research techniques. Like most people, I have used Wikipedia extensively for years. I noticed places where I thought I could add something positive and useful so I decided to join the community. I have an interesting list of things I thought would be good to add (obviously now on hold, but I would be happy to share this). I was starting to enjoy being part of Wikipedia but honestly, it has been pretty unpleasant having to constantly defend myself. I am not a paid anything. I am not a sock puppet. I am just someone who wants to contribute to something that I think is valuable. Electriclamb (talk) 10:57, 26 April 2021 (UTC)}}Reply

Request reason:

Hi! I’m wondering if you guys are ever going to let me back into the community. I'm a little bit frustrated as I feel no one is seeing my unblock requests? Is anyone actually seeing this? I respect the ethos of the Wikipedia community and have not created a new user profile (also I am proud of the work I have contributed so far so would really like my profile back!). Can someone who makes these decisions please have a look at my situation. I'd be happy to answer any questions Thanks! Electriclamb (talk) 15:54, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Accept reason:

Hi Jpgordon. Thanks for taking the time to review this! I'm really happy about the outcome :) Electriclamb (talk) 20:15, 7 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

DYK for Sabine Marcelis

edit

On 15 March 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Sabine Marcelis, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Dutch designer Sabine Marcelis was a semi-professional snowboarder in New Zealand before she decided to pursue a career in the arts? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Sabine Marcelis. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Sabine Marcelis), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
