Neutrality on a edit I wrote
Hello would you be able to tell me if my edit is neutral and if there are any improvement that could be made etc?Ive had a few responses in the forums but they all seem to have political bias behind them, Heres what I wrote:
In October 2018,the Secret Service were involved in a incident, where a .38 Revolver belonging to to Biden was discarded into a dumpster close to a high school[1].The firearm in question was reportedly discarded into the dumpster by Hallie Biden,Beau Biden's widow. When she tried to return to retrieve the firearm it had been removed from the dumpster by an elderly man who regularly rummaged through dumpsters and was eventually returned to Hunter who handed it over to law enforcement[2]According to Politico, When Biden filled out a Form 4473 during the purchase of the firearm, answered “no” to a question about unlawful use or addiction to “marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance”,Despite his prior usage of drugs.[3]If he answered "yes" it would make him unable to purchase the firearm.[4]Two Secret Service agents went to StarQuest Shooters & Survival Supply in Wilmington, Delaware, where they tried to take possession of the Firearms Transaction Record, however the owner, Ron Palmieri refused later turning over the papers to the ATF.[5]
- Four unrelated things before I get into bias:
- Some editors like to use curly quotations, like “ instead of ". " (straight quotations) should always be used to keep search predictable in certain situations and to keep quotation marks in general consistent, see MOS:CURLY.
- Duplicate references can have a name assigned to them so duplicate references aren't used. You can use a ref like <ref name="POLITICOBidenGun">{{Cite web |title=Sources: Secret Service inserted itself into case of Hunter Biden’s gun |url=https://www.politico.com/news/2021/03/25/sources-secret-service-inserted-itself-into-case-of-hunter-bidens-gun-477879 |access-date=2022-04-26 |website=POLITICO |language=en}}</ref>, and then call upon the ref later as <ref name="POLITICOBidenGun"/>
- In English, punctuation marks (commas, semicolons, question marks, exclamation marks, periods) typically have a space after them, so ".The" becomes ". The". Occasionally, some people will use two spaces so ".The" becomes ". The", but two spaces is rendered as one in wikitext (MOS:DOUBLESPACE).
- The double link [[.38 caliber|.38]] [[Revolver]] is used; avoid a sea of blue.
- As for bias, I would start by analyzing the quality of sources used in your edit, which happens to be the two institutions Politico and The Guardian. Both are reputable perennial sources, so any bias issues probably stem from how the sources are used.
- I usually then analyze if such an event is newsworthy or if its inclusion would cause undue weight to the person in question. The context of this section is probably on Hunter Biden's article. Seeing as no arrests were made and this is pretty much how the story ends, it would be undue weight to mention it on their article, and the incident isn't a large enough issue to be noteworthy.
- I would suggest finding more sources that do genuinely make this a much larger issue than it is, but two sources saying, "Beau Biden's wife put a gun in a trashbin. Someone found it." really isn't that much of a noteworthy event. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 23:14, 26 April 2022 (UTC)
- CNN also reported on it as well (https://www.cnn.com/2022/03/30/politics/hunter-biden-federal-investigation-heats-up/index.html) as some other news networks and writers (https://jonathanturley.org/2021/04/08/president-biden-announces-new-red-flag-rule-fit-for-hunter-biden/).There are many other articles but some of the others arent considered neutral by wikipedia. Even though no arrests have been made that is also the case with the Biden laptop story. It is reported that there is a case that may be formed against Biden as stated in one of the articles. Conservative cheese ball (talk) 10:43, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
- WP:BEBOLD if you believe the edits would be constructive, but to me, it's not a large enough story to warrant such a large section. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 14:15, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
- I did originally post the edit but it got taken down in under 2 minutes by someone for being "undue".The edit was only an extension to the criticisms/controversies section of Mr Biden's Wikipedia page. The article main focus is the media's coverage of Biden illegal purchase of a weapon and dangerous attempt at discarding it.In my opinion I see this a wikipedia/news worthy. Use of opinion piece to define a organisation
Hello ElijahPepe,
Would you say from your experience that this article is an opinion piece? From what I can see it seems very much so.However, I'm looking to see what other people think. The way in which the source is being used to make the statement is extremely subjective and is an opinion, the article should instead say something along the lines of at most "some see the organisation as being affiliated with the far-right". The consensus is that TheConversation can be used, however articles that are opinion pieces from the TheConversation should not be used.Meaning it should be looked at on a case by case basis-Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources#The Conversation . The claim is one that would be considered very extraordinary and I think it needs alot of really strong sourcing to back it up.
Intrested to here your thoughts

Talk:Robb Elementary School shooting discussion closure
Hello. I noticed that you closed this discussion. On a technical level, this was inappropriate for you to do. A discussion's consensus can only be assessed by an uninvolved editor. As you !voted in your own proposal, that restricts you from closing it. I am not suggesting that your assessment is incorrect, just that you should not have closed it. See WP:Closing discussions#Closure procedure and WP:RFC#Ending RfCs. In future, please avoid closing a discussion that you have participated in or that you started. Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! HumanBodyPiloter5 (talk) 02:32, 21 August 2022 (UTC)

Edits to Blåhaj
Hello, thank you very much for your contributions to the Blåhaj article, and providing a better and high quality photo of the toy to be displayed in the infobox. I would like to ask, however, if you saw my edit where I changed references to Blåhaj to be in the singular, as well as this one where I removed some redundant information from the lede, and explained why in the edit summaries? And if you have, could you explain why you are reverting those? I'd like to understand your logic on that and come to an agreement on those issues if possible, in lieu of reverting each other repeatedly without communication. Thanks again for your contribution! Joyce-stick (talk) 16:19, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
- I added the physical properties of the Blåhaj because it pertains to the article's topic and there's a section for it in the article (a lede should be a summary of the article itself). As for the plurality of Blåhaj, plenty of RSes use Blåhajs to refer to the toy. The article doesn't flow well with Blåhaj being singular because Blåhaj, despite being a proper noun, is a Swedish word, and there are multiple Blåhajs in the world. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 16:26, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
- Alright, adding that information to the lede makes sense then, and I've reverted my own edit on that front. However, I'd like to politely disagree that the article does not flow well with the singular "Blåhaj" being predominantly used? Often in discussion and coverage, at least in the English language, Blåhaj is generally referred to in the singular, either as "Blåhaj" or otherwise as "The IKEA shark" or a similar term, conveying not the idea of a mass-produced product, but a character, meme, and symbol. You would not, for instance, say "the Statues of Liberty" because there may be multiple such statues extant as replicas, or "the Nintendo Switches" because there are millions of Nintendo Switches. This is not just my opinion, it's common practice in sources such as this, this, and this, (and yes all three of these are cited in the article) among many others, where Blåhaj is called "Blåhaj" in the singular. Thus it's justified to call Blåhaj by its WP:COMMONNAME, at least in English coverage. Joyce-stick (talk) 16:38, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
- Take a look at this sentence:
In 2018, Blåhaj grew to prominence as an internet meme, with social media users posting humorous photos of it in their homes.
- The usage of Blåhaj seems to imply that there is only one Blåhaj, but there is no "one Blåhaj". "Blåhajs" would work better here, because it explicitly states plurality. In cases where there is only one Blåhaj, like the Japanese marketing campaign, then "a Blåhaj" would work better. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 16:49, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
- The subject has been raised on the talk page of the article. For now the consensus is in favor of using Blåhaj in the singular, and the article has been edited in line with this. If you wish to oppose that consensus, I recommend you reply to the discussion there. Joyce-stick (talk) 20:49, 21 August 2022 (UTC)

Timeline of the death and state funeral of Elizabeth II
Hi. Hope you are doing well. I just wanted to ask a few questions regarding the timeline article that you created yesterday. What were your plans when setting it up? Is it meant to cover only the day of her death and her state funeral in detail, or is it supposed to cover everything in between as well? And, are you planning on further expanding it? I'd be glad if you could provide some answers, as that would help us avoid creating a duplicate of the timeline already included in the main article. Regards. Keivan.fTalk 16:10, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for asking! My plan was to set up a general article for the timeline of the death and state funeral of Elizabeth II, as aptly named in the title, so every detail that's relevant to that topic would be listed. I have plans to expand it, but I need to get the date and times organized first. If someone were to read that article, my hope is that they'd get a general overview of the times that the events surrounding the death and state funeral of Elizabeth II happened, but not exact details (kind of like Timeline of Opportunity).
- I have no requirement for how the article should be laid out, but I would much prefer if the article kept that bullet point format seen in the background and the 8 September sections. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 16:29, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- Perfect. Thanks for the quick response. A user copy pasted the entire summary from the main article into the page on the timeline, which I thought was unnecessary. I think if they were to be added back, they need to have all the details and be laid out in the list format (bullet points, etc. as you mentioned). I'm busy working on the main article at the moment, but I'll try to help with this one as well. Again, thanks for the clarification. Keivan.fTalk 16:36, 11 September 2022 (UTC)

- If these are WikiProject categories that will be empty from time to time, you need to tag them appropriately or they will show up on our Database list of Empty categories and they will continue to be tagged for CSD C1 speedy deletion by me or another editor who reviews the list.
- Just add the tag {{emptycat}} on the relevant category pages so they will be marked to not delete the categories even if they are empty. Thanks. Liz Read! Talk! 05:57, 13 October 2022 (UTC)

Jeff Winger
Assuming you gain consensus for keeping the stand-alone page, please don't forget the cleanup you need to do when you split out a section into its own page. If the stand-alone page becomes stable, the info on the List of Community characters is far too detailed, and should be pruned. Add a {{main}}
template to the Jeff Winger entry in the list, and condense the text there to a summary of the new page's content, avoiding needless repetition. Please see step 6 of WP:SPLIT. Good luck CapnZapp (talk) 10:59, 2 December 2022 (UTC)
- Now that you have achieved consensus, please don't forget to clean up after your split. Regards CapnZapp (talk) 13:27, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
Skydance Taskforce
How do i open a task force on Skydance Media? I looked though the instructions and i have to make a subpage for some reason. Any ideas on how i would make one? BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 19:15, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
- Find a WikiProject, like WikiProject Animation, and create a subpage, in your case, Wikipedia:WikiProject Animation/Skydance Media task force. The WikiProject status template should help you get started. If WikiProject Animation has a list of task forces, add it to the list.elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 20:19, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
- is there an example i can use to make it? I mean, Skydance has Television, Video Games, and sports. that's a lot to take by. BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 23:20, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
- Take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Current events/Monkeypox outbreak task force. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 23:39, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
- hmm... interesting. Well, it's a company page but should i change it to Wikipedia:WikiProject Companies/Skydance Media task force or just leave it for Animation? BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 00:14, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- Leave it in animation. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 00:26, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- alright, i got the page set up anyhow. you really think this could work? i'm a little nervous and anxious for this. BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 00:34, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- I suggest you ask on WikiProject Animation if you need someone else to run it or need more members. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 02:03, 18 December 2022 (UTC)

- So far so good on the task force. i've gotten everything set up. you think it could work on the other skydance films? Like Terminator Genisys or The Greatest Beer Run Ever? BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 02:01, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- Yes. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 02:03, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- Cool! Would that be for WikiProject:Film? BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 06:19, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- If you intend to branch out beyond animation, I would suggest moving the WikiProject to another one, or create two at the same time. I would not recommend the latter, though. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 06:36, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- I’ll keep it in animation til i decide if i can move it to film. BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 06:47, 18 December 2022 (UTC)

- I've managed to add WikiProject Film in the task force since they already got a category based on it. Hope this will boost enough for Skydance Media. BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 22:24, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
History of Twitter (October 2022–present) moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, History of Twitter (October 2022–present), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. The article Hawaiian Airlines Flight 35 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fram (talk) 11:28, 19 December 2022 (UTC)

Category: History of Islam
In your comment at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals/Islamic History, you mentioned that Category:Islamic History contained 100s of articles, but when I open it I can only find 66. How is that? The ⬡ Bestagon [t] [c] 06:29, 24 December 2022 (UTC)
- The root category may only have 66 pages, but Category:History of Islam has several subcategories with hundreds of pages. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 18:58, 26 December 2022 (UTC)

Top 50
You might've seen I called you for the annual report, in gratitude for all you helped through the year in the Top 25. If you ever find the time, you can do any of the remaining write-ups, just one would be more than enough. igordebraga ≠ 20:48, 27 December 2022 (UTC)
