Elvarg
Welcome
editWelcome to Wikipedia, the greatest encyclopedia on Earth! You seem to be off to a good start. Hopefully you will soon join the vast army of Wikipediholics! You may wish to review the welcome page, tutorial, and stylebook, as well as the avoiding common mistakes and Wikipedia is not pages. You may also want to check out Wikipedia:Merge, for information about merging, renaming and moving pages. The Wikipedia directory is also quite useful. In addition, you might want to add yourself to the new user log; if you made any edits before getting an account, you may wish to assign those to your username.
By the way, an important tip: To sign comments on talk pages, simply type four tildes, like this: ~~~~. This will automatically add your name and the time after your comments.
Finally, here are some open tasks:
You can help improve the articles listed below! This list updates frequently, so check back here for more tasks to try. (See Wikipedia:Maintenance or the Task Center for further information.)
Help counter systemic bias by creating new articles on important women.
Help improve popular pages, especially those of low quality.

Hope to see you around the Wiki! Remember to be Bold! with your edits, and if you have any questions whatsoever, feel free to contact me on my talk page!Russia art
editHi Elvarg. I just wanted to say that I thought your solution to redirect "Russia art" to Russian culture was a excellent way to deal with nonsense. (I may steal your idea from time to time...:)Cheers. --Bookandcoffee 20:32, 6 November 2005 (UTC)
Logos
editI'm not good at logo making, no. But I think a sign that implies that people should stop on a freely editable page is not the right one. Generally, I don't really see a lot of need to add to the clutter at the top of very many articles with images. They don't actually convey any more information than is already in the text. Someone else added images recently to a number of popular tags; I don't think they lasted the day. That's just my personal opinion, though. With unobtrusive logos that are well designed, you may be able to make them stick. -Splashtalk 22:32, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
- I'd be happy to help you create a few, should you desire it. My main gripe is the text is quite pixelated. Replacing it with a higher quality image would probably be better, or as Splash said, leave the templates to be as uncluttered as possible. I find the boilerplate messages ugly as-is, and don't think that adding more to them will help anything, though I wouldn't be opposed to a nicely designed image or something similar. -Mysekurity(have you seen this?) 03:12, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
Sandbox warning
editWelcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for making editing tests in the Wikipedia sandbox, and not on other pages. However, when you use the sandbox, please do not remove the sandbox header. It identifies the page as the sandbox and provides directions to its users. Thank you. Georgia guy 02:37, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
Response to what you wrote on my talk page: just do the same thing; only don't eliminate the sandbox header. Georgia guy 02:42, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
Copyright Violation
editI noticed that you had uploaded Image:Wiki5.png as GFDL. It appears to be from a LGPL source however. I have remarked it as LGPL, as it also appears unaltered. Linuxerist E/L/T 18:20, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Zel6.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Orphaned non-free media (Image:KwantlenEagles.gif)
editThanks for uploading Image:KwantlenEagles.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 01:30, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Pyst, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 23:44, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
An editor has nominated Pyst, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pyst and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:29, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
editHello Elvarg! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 329 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. For the Election committee, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 12:57, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
The file File:Wikiproppolicy.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 8 May 2019 (UTC)
