There are apparently concerns that some of the content is being copied from his official site; you should really talk to the deleting administrators about this, though. Kirill Lokshin03:24, 8 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Sealibague.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:39, 8 March 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fibonacci03:39, 8 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Alhamdulillah, i just wanted to say thank you for helping out in the Department of Magdalena article, one of the things that deterred me from esxpanding this, or any article, is lack of pictures or images, i was so glad when i saw that you created a map with the political divisions of Magdalena, im not so savvi when it comes to computer made images or stuff like that but thanks, and please let me know your opinions on this article while im expanding it. mijotoba14:14, 12 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Oh i just had one question, is there anything in particular i need to do if i want to upload the Magdalena map to commons, so it could be used in sister projects? i dont know, since yu are the creator, and yu uploaded them to en.wiki i thought there would be a special license or something....

What template was this one replaced with? (It is still being used in Barrios Unidos; your nomination has marked the article for speedy deletion as well.) That said, I don't see how the template fits the speedy deletion criteria; you should probably rominate it for regular deletion at WP:TFD. Regards, Mike Rosoft10:37, 17 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why did you need to TFD this? Instead of creating a new one (which looks worse in my opinion), you could have simply edited the old one. Editing the old template so a (slightly smaller) Bogota flag and coat of arms appears on the top is all the improvement it needs in my opinion. Funpika18:37, 19 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
I should have rephrased my first question. My point was that you could have just improved the nominated template rather than try to get it deleted and make a whole new one. Funpika20:30, 19 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good call on the "How to rate importance" subpage; it's much needed. I think the history and econ things are pretty spot on, but I think we've tended to disagree about the relative importance of geography and department divisions. Admittedly I'm a newcomer to the project, but I feel like a general geographic overview is important insofar as it provides context for understanding Colombia as a political entity. While the project is rightly focused on all things Colombian, the average encyclopedia reader is coming to get either a historical or political perspective on how the country fits into the regional or global picture. Therefore, items that are essential to that understanding should be rated higher, much like a reader trying to understand the USSR would be better served by reading articles about Khrushchev and the Eastern Front (World War II) than Vladivostok. I'm fine rating them top or high, I just think given the massive amount of work needed on basic things, by putting the departments and capitals too high in importance we're skewing the worklist from things that will provide more users with more useful information more quickly. Thoughts?
By the by, I'll probably be contributing less and less over the next few months...I'm going to start working 60-70 hour weeks pretty soon, and that's gonna take it out of me. I'll probably still gnome around, but then I leave Colombia (I use this to work on translation skills and bone up on things I haven't read in on). I'll probably start working more in Arabic starting in the summer, as my goal is to get up to a 3 in Arabic by next April. Hopefully I'll have time to do the contributing I want to! Why did you revert my edit to Antioquia? As I stated on the article's discussion page, I have simply moved the municipalities section to their own list, so that it wouldn't clutter up the article, and linked to the new list from the main article. Ygoloxelfer18:07, 26 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I guess I tried to do too much too early. I've moved the section back in, and also added a short geography section using information adapted from the Spanish wikipedia. Ygoloxelfer18:24, 26 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for improving the municipalities section - it looks a lot better than just having the basic list, which is what I was trying to avoid. Ygoloxelfer11:18, 27 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I stumbled across the pic Image:Iedcontrolledexplotion.png that you took a few months back. It's a really stunning pic and it can probably survive the Featured Pic process. However, it's over 12mb large in png format. Do you have it in jpg format at high res? I can convert it, but that might create unnecessary jpg artifacts. Tell me either way, so I can convert it or wait for a better version from you. =D Oh...and did you go deaf after that explosion?!? It couldn't have been good to your hearing. ;) JumpingcheeseCont@ct07:21, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey, I was just patrolling new pages and I noticed you just created quite a few new stubs. I have no complaint about the articles themselves; however, there is one thing I'd like to bring up about your use of edit summaries. This is really no big deal, but when you use an edit summary like "Created" when starting a new page, it's actually less helpful than if you have no edit summary and just use the automatic "Created page with 'This is the '''contents of the page'''. Lorem ipsum...'." The automatic summary obviously isn't the best edit summary you could have, but it's better than just "Created". If you want your own edit summary, something such as "Created new stub on a town in Colombia" is more descriptive and better fits the purpose of an edit summary. Again, this is just a minor concern, but it would be helpful if you remembered this when creating pages. Thanks, PyrospiritFlamesFire04:09, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for finding a better solution to the name of the Inírida, Guainía article. I have always used the accented version, but mijotoba assures us that the accent has now been eliminated. I notice that the [Inirida municipality web page] does not use the accented version. Of course this is the same user who assures use that Inirida is a city. --Bejnar17:29, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Vista Hermosa, Meta, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. 158.59.198.25015:40, 16 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Since geography influences history, but rarely does history significantly influence geography, normally geography is placed before history, as the geographical information may help in the understanding of the historical information. In the article Inírida, Guainía, you reversed this order, making it less clear to someone reading the article straight through, why Inírida is so isolated. Do you mind if I change the order back? --Bejnar20:39, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
I've been following the format of Colombia, which has history first and then geography, as well the other main cities and towns. Concerning the geography over history I have my doubts. Usually a regular reader will use the table of contents and the reader may go straight to the sub-article. (really dependes on the reader)... so I was just trying to keep the uniformity. What do you think?--F3rn4nd0(BLA BLA BLA)05:00, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
I agree that more articles than not do it that way (history first), and sometimes the geography and economy get mixed together, which tends to make one want to keep them together, and while I agree that some uniformity is important, I don't think that we need to be over-zealous about it. Some articles will call for history first and others don't. Personally, I think that geography should be first as a default, for the reasons that I first enumerated, but I notice that I have also written articles that put history first. --Bejnar23:05, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi F3rn4nd0, you just placed a WikiProject Colombia tag on this page, and deleted the assessment information from the {{Volcano}} tag. Why did you delete that info?
Please do not delete other WikiProjects' assessment information. Every WikiProject is free to make separate assessments to an article, so there is no need for you to delete things.

Hi - a stub template or category which you created has been nominated for deletion or renaming at Wikipedia:Stub types for deletion. The stub type, which was not proposed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, does not meet the standard requirements for a stub type, either through being incorrectly named, ambiguously scoped, or through failure to meet standards relating to the current stub hierarchy or likely size, as explained at Wikipedia:Stub. Thank you F3rn4nd0 for your participation in the Salvatore Mancuso article. I will continue little by little the current Spanish version. I saw you removed the cite too. Do you think is it not needed? Is it possible you check also the Muiscas article? --El Viajero Paisa02:15, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hello F3rn4nd0. Actually I am the one who did such translation of the Muiscas, because I wrote the article in Spanish. I put the template as I know that my English still no ready to do such compositions. That's why I thank you for your help. About Mancuso, in the Spanish version the article needs more references and neutrality. I think we can wait a little to do something in English so not to translate imprecisions. The text we have composed so far, I think, is enough for now. Real thank you. --El Viajero Paisa10:45, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Image:Laslajascathedral.png, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
non free image
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on [[Talk:Image:Laslajascathedral.png|the article's talk page]] explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

Thanks for uploading Image:9.fueradeconcursojorgeonate.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Hi, thanks for clearing up the multiple meanings of gaita. I was the anonymous user who changed gaita to bagpipes. I actually have an account, and I must have overlooked that I wasn't logged in when I made the change. I turned gaita into a wiki link so that it links to the multiple meanings page that you shared with me. Thanks! --Hugo Estrada18:53, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:24muchasgracias.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex20:55, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

You should be aware that User:Putzin has been posted a message to my user page and attached your signature, rather than his own. A brief look at user conduct policies did not show me which rue he has thus violated, but I am sure the Wikipolicy somewhere must proscribe such fraudulent activity. Could you please either direct me to the location or bring the matter to an admin's attention. Thanks. Kevin McE07:13, 30 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello there....The problem here is that there isn't any formal list of all the massacres committed by the different groups over all these years. One can find information about specific events, but there's not really a comprehensive list, at least publicly. Juancarlos200422:54, 2 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

A album image can be used in a singer article if it talks about the album in some kind of detail there and with a valid fair use rationale. If it's obviously for deceration, then it can be removed, but it's not in the Selena article. I been working with fair use images for over a year, trust me I know. Image source problem with Image:CartagenaBolivar.jpg
Latest comment: 17 years ago1 comment1 person in discussion
Thanks for uploading Image:CartagenaBolivar.jpg.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Hi Fernando,
thanks for providing a photo you took of Silvestre Dangond to Wikipedia. By lincensing it under the GFDL and CC-by-2.5 you agreed that this image can be used freely by anyone (under the conditions of these licenses). However, you added a remark which contradicts this: "for wikipedia and sister projects only". I hope you will remove that restriction; if not, the image will have to be deleted.
