Embarking on the Wikipedia extra credit assignment proved to be a unique and enriching experience, providing me with insights into the collaborative world of online knowledge sharing. Overall, the process was both challenging and rewarding, pushing me to delve into new territories that I had not explored before.

In the course of this assignment, I learned the intricacies of Wikipedia's editing interface, understanding how to navigate through its various features and contribute to existing articles. The guidelines and policies emphasized the importance of neutrality, reliable sourcing, and factual accuracy, instilling in me a sense of responsibility to uphold the platform's commitment to credible information. This not only refined my writing skills but also heightened my awareness of the significance of corroborating information from reputable sources. Lotsobear555 (talk) 19:40, 2 December 2023 (UTC)

week 7 /Alexis0705

what I have learned in the process is: Reliability of Sources: It is important to ensure that our contributions are based on reliable and verifiable sources is crucial. This helps maintain the integrity of the information presented. Neutrality: Articles on platforms like Wikipedia should maintain a neutral point of view. Avoiding bias and presenting information objectively is essential. Adherence to Guidelines: we should familiarize ourselves with the platform's guidelines to avoid potential conflicts and ensure that our contributions align with the community's expectations.

I think I will continue to editing on Wikipedia because Knowledge Sharing: Contributing to articles allows me to share my knowledge on a particular topic with a wide audience, fostering learning and understanding. Community Collaboration: Wikipedia operates on a collaborative model. Working with other contributors can provide valuable insights, corrections, and diverse perspectives. Skill Development: Editing articles involves skills like research, critical thinking, and adherence to guidelines. It can enhance my abilities in writing, citation, and information synthesis Alexis0705 (talk) 05:20, 3 December 2023 (UTC)

I found the joy of an editor from editing Wikipedia, and I also realized that everyone can edit Wikipedia. First of all, this means that when I look for information in the future, I need to verify the source of the information from different ways, not just from Wikipedia. As for authoritative information, secondly I realize that as an editor I have a responsibility because others may use your editorial content as an authoritative source of information, so I should be held accountable for every edit I make.
Overall, this is a meaningful assignment. I believe that I will continue to edit Wikipedia in the future, and pay more attention to the authenticity of dialectical information when using Wikipedia. This is a very meaningful learning for me. Kiki6789 (talk) 21:09, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

week 7/ chrismisu (2)

One of the key learnings from this assignment was the importance of accuracy and relevance in online content. The edit history shows me the contribution of different users. I can link my research to improve the article. This allows me to contribute meaningful and substantiated content, enhancing the overall quality of the article. Additionally, this task provided an opportunity to critically evaluate article content, encouraging a deeper engagement with the subject matter. So in the future, I can continue using the skill I learned from this class to edit and improve the articles once I realize there may be some mistakes or room for improvement. Hi Professor!
Editing Wikipedia has been a revealing experience for me. It showed me that anyone can contribute, which taught me to cross-verify information from multiple sources, not just Wikipedia. As an editor, I've realized the responsibility I hold since others may view my contributions as authoritative. This makes me more accountable for each edit.
This experience has been enriching. I plan to continue editing Wikipedia and will be more critical of the information I use and contribute. This has been a valuable lesson in the importance of information authenticity. 70.18.197.62 (talk) 20:04, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
