Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. I believe you were one of the people who deleted this article in 2008. It was my first one sorry. Anyway I think I fixed it and the others are no longer on here. I am supposed to notify you guys to look. Hopefully you can. This other editor has made it a point to follow me around and be mean for no reason so I would rather someone constructive see it before she gets to it. I just want to be productive and get actual feedback to help me get it right and not have it removed by someone just being mean. Thanks! Dani808 (talk) 16:11, 11 July 2016 (UTC)

Extended confirmed protection
Hello, Fabrictramp. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.
Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.
In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:
- Extended confirmed protection may only be used in cases where semi-protection has proven ineffective. It should not be used as a first resort.
- A bot will post a notification at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard of each use. MusikBot currently does this by updating a report, which is transcluded onto the noticeboard.
Please review the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you.
This message was sent to the administrators' mass message list. To opt-out of future messages, please remove yourself from the list. 17:47, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

Two-Factor Authentication now available for admins
Hello,
Please note that TOTP based two-factor authentication is now available for all administrators. In light of the recent compromised accounts, you are encouraged to add this additional layer of security to your account. It may be enabled on your preferences page in the "User profile" tab under the "Basic information" section. For basic instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication, please see the developing help page for additional information. Important: Be sure to record the two-factor authentication key and the single use keys. If you lose your two factor authentication and do not have the keys, it's possible that your account will not be recoverable. Furthermore, you are encouraged to utilize a unique password and two-factor authentication for the email account associated with your Wikimedia account. This measure will assist in safeguarding your account from malicious password resets. Comments, questions, and concerns may be directed to the thread on the administrators' noticeboard. New deal for page patrollers
Hi Fabrictramp,
In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.
Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.
Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)
A new user right for New Page Patrollers
Hi Fabrictramp.
A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right.
It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best.
If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR. (Sent to all admins).MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:47, 15 November 2016 (UTC)

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
Hello, Fabrictramp. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

- Speedy deletion - Thank you for these guidelines. They are very helpful.
I had wanted to begin becoming a wikipedia contributor/editor for sometime and finally got around it. I thought I could contribute because I finally found something that I knew something about and that didn't have a page. You explained why you took it down really well and I appreciate that help. No copyright infringement intended. I was just excited about starting out on wikipedia. I will work on familiarizing myself with editing for a bit before tackling something so big. Editing a page: Adding photos and properly citing with dates etc.
I am having trouble figuring out how to add photos to the page Timothy Schmalz and was hoping you could help. I also can't figure out how to properly add reference information at the bottom of the page (date retrieved etc). --Emily1226 (talk) 17:04, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
- Check the help pages listed in the welcome message on your talk page, and you should find instructions on how to add photos. (I rarely add photos, so I have to look up the instructions each time I do.) For referencing, if you're using the standard editor there should be a link in the blue bar at the top of the editor that says "cite". Click on that, and you'll get a drop down in the bar below it that says "templates". Choose a template and fill in the blanks, and the reference will be properly formatted and inserted where your cursor is. HTH--Fabrictramp | talk to me 19:02, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

I honestly don't mind being corrected, but are you sure? "magazine covers are a claim of notability" On the cover of Life or Rolling Stone maybe, but a magazine/website that wouldn't even meet WP's notability criteria? If being on the cover of any magazine makes one notable I'm starting to write an article about myself. Seriously, what am I missing here? Cheers, Yintan
- The standard to avoid CSD is much lower than the standard to avoid prod/AfD -- to avoid CSD there just needs to be an attempt, while to avoid deletion altogether you need to actually meet the criteria. If you've examined the sources and found them lacking, by all means go the prod/AfD route. But speedy isn't appropriate here.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 20:45, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Somebody else already put the article up at AfD, by the way. Cheers, Yintan 21:39, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

You did have a page with the same name on the English Wikipedia, but it was a redirect to itself with no content. The redirect was deleted since it would only confuse users. However, I'd caution you against recreating the page as an article, since it's likely to be deleted. Wikipedia is not the place to be promoting yourself.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 00:34, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

Contesting Speedy Deletion
Contesting speedy deletion of Cheaper than Dirt. My friends link to MidwayUSA and Sportsman's Guide all the time. I tried to write like those. Why are those ones ok and the CTD one isn't?
Pewpewpew2 (talk) 20:49, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- Honestly, those articles aren't that great, either. In fact, you'll notice that The Sportsman's Guide has a tag noting that it's written like an advertisement -- if the article isn't cleaned up, it will eventually get deleted.
- I'd suggest you read carefully through the links in your welcome message, especially about notability and the importance of a neutral, encyclopedic tone. Then try the article again at Articles for Creation so you can get some feedback on it before it gets moved to main space. That will give you time and help in getting a quality article into the encyclopedia.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 23:20, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
Jack Phillips (pitcher)
Noticed a Jack Phillips (pitcher) page via random articles. I like to find stubs and add cites to make articles complete, but the page you created a few years back for Jack Phillips really doesn't have much information at all. He was a nobody who pitched in a single game for four innings. There are no articles of import on his death, other than the extremely-barebones one cited for his electrocution.
Since Jack Phillips appears not to meet any of the notability criteria, I was going to propose deleting the page. Is there a reason Jack needs a Wikipedia page?

Deleted Talk Page
I began translating and writing the page Cristianos por el socialismo. While I was working on it, I started a talk page at Talk:Cristianos por el socialismo. You deleted this page on 28 November 2016, in accordance with Wikipedia guidelines Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#G8, because the page Cristianos por el socialismo didn't exist. I understand this action. However, I have now published the article, and would like to recover the talk page. Thanks for your help and ask for infos
Hello,
Thanks for helping me with my first approach to wikipedia world.
You deleted the page I created, for copyrighted material. You are right, but I received the request of write that page directly from the holder... Is there a way to find my draft and write a new text, with no copyrighted text starting from what I wrote? Second question..If I translate something from a italian wikipedia page, is it considered copyrighted material? Thanks for your attention.
And.noc (talk) 00:46, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
- Material you create from translating the Italian wikipedia entry is not copyrighted, so that is fine to use.
- However writing a page at the request of the original copyright holder is problematic. Take a few minutes to read WP:COI carefully -- it's unlikely you will be able to write a neutral, encyclopedic article when you are doing it on behalf of the article's subject.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 00:48, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
Solved, Thanks
Hello, You deleted my page for content infringement, specifically from a website called Bank Tech Asia. I have completely removed all things that I took from them, and made my own paragraph about my person's career. Is it ok if I mainly reupload the same wiki page, with just that paragraph being changed?
Thanks, Rayfin — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rayfingmd (talk • contribs) 11:40, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
- I'd suggest making the page at Articles for Creation and having someone look at both the copyright issues and the promotional nature of the article. It was written more like a Linked In bio than an encyclopedia article. You should also look for some neutral, third party sources that show notability.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 14:18, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

Bad source on Deacon page. Leads to what looks like a phishing page.
Hello, I really don't know how this works, so I'm sorry if I'm doing this wrong, but I felt this was something that needed to be addressed. I was doing research on deacons in the Catholic Church, and came across a topic on women as deacons. So I wanted to follow up on the source to get more information. I clicked on the number to take me to the source page, and ended up getting a bunch of what looked like phishing sites instead. I'm really not sure how I'm supposed to fix sources on Wikipedia, but seeing as you were a contributor for this article I thought it would be a better idea to hand you the task instead, or at least notify a capable member of the community. Thanks for your help. The source is number 27 in the footnotes of the deacon page.

Please don't remove the COI tag from Alex Buesnel. The article is not currently written in a neutral, encyclopedic tone, which is typical of COI issues.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 22:27, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
- If an article's narrative aren't encyclopedic enough, all WP editors, including you, are able to edit them accordingly. Like this: Instead of "Since humble beginnings in 2003," perhaps change it to "Since 2003," or something similar. My edit(s) were made to improve citations and source links, not narrative.24.11.116.253 (talk) 00:03, 21 December 2016 (UTC)

Company Wikipedia Page
Hello,
I created the Ex-Consultants Agency wikipedia page you deleted earlier today for my company. I am wondering how I can go about creating a page for my company that will not be deleted. It was flagged for containing promotional material. I am unsure what was considered promotional on the page. I would like to create something similar to this company's page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HourlyNerd.
Please offer any advice you may have on how to create a business page without it being flagged for deletion.
Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dorsawalnutcreek (talk • contribs) 00:38, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Dorsawalnutcreek:First, welcome to Wikipedia. I've left you a welcome message on your talk page that has a lot of useful links about creating pages that will stick around.
- I'm not sure I'd use HourlyNerd as an example of a good page. It's been nominated for deletion a couple of times, and since it reads very much like a press release, is likely to be nominated for deletion again. As an employee of Ex-Consultants Agency, you are likely to have the same problem -- I have yet to see a company's employee be able to write a neutral, well-referenced encyclopedic article about their company. Maybe you'll be the first, but the odds are against you.
- Read carefully through the links in your welcome message, and then make a draft at AfC. Be sure to have it reviewed before moving it into article space, because your first version read like an advertisement and only listed your company's website as a source, which doesn't demonstrate notability.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 20:56, 8 March 2017 (UTC)
Providing with improtance
Hi Fabrictramp, You have deleted the page I've posted about www.molfar.io : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molfar.io
I'm just wondering, what is wrong there? I've mentioned that: - the company provides with a unique methodology of product launch; - the companies research were published in several resources; and - there are some popular apps that the company published.
I reviewed a list of other companies pages and it is mentioned much less than in current. So, I'm just curious what should be there to be published?
Other company profiles: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HourlyNerd https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ciklum
Thanks IFortuna (talk) 10:05, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
- @IFortuna:First, see the section above about why HourlyNerd is a poor example to copy. Similarly, the article on Molfar.io was written as if it came from the company's "about" page, and did not include any independent, reliable sources showing notability. Read carefully through the links in the welcome message on your talk page to see what's needed for an article to stick around (note, for example, that the article on Ciklum has sources independent of the subject). Then if you want to try again, make a version at AfC and have it reviewed.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 21:01, 8 March 2017 (UTC)
Enoon Mai
Do you think it's worth me trying to fix up Enoon Mai? The references are a total mess; some are literally just youtube.com, lots are not RS... I would remove the obvious ones, but it's difficult to tell which refs the author meant when they wrote it [1] [2] [3] etc.
I'd guess (without having actually googled yet) that it may have a chance at notability.
But what do you think is the best approach? Would it be easier to nominate it for deletion, and see if others fix stuff? 86.20.193.222 (talk) 21:35, 8 March 2017 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's a mess. Unfortunately, being a mess isn't a deletion reason. *sigh* If it were me, I'd do a search, find a single reliable source, nuke the existing text and use that source to write a valid stub. I would normally do it, but I'm about to sign off for the afternoon.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 21:37, 8 March 2017 (UTC)

So, I am wondering how I might be able to create a page that offers valid information regarding me being one of his dharma heirs, without it being an autobiography - although people would want to know about me. Pages are created about people while they are still alive. Should I ask a 3rd party to create the page?
Thank you! Don — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dongiles (talk • contribs) 06:58, 9 March 2017 (UTC)
- If people want to know about you, you should create your own autobiography on your own website. For Wikipedia's policies on autobiographies, check out Wikipedia:Autobiography, which was linked in the welcome message you got. Asking someone else to create a page for you isnt' a good idea. Not only will there be a problem with conflict of interest, I've done a search and you're going to have problems meeting the notability standards with independent, reliable sources.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 15:54, 9 March 2017 (UTC)

Judy O'Bannon page
Can you let me know what specifically the issues are with the page. I am new to creating pages, so I can't seem to find the specific note, but it appears to be with a specific citation. Thanks. Jsqp (talk) 10:03, 13 March 2017 (UTC) jsqup March 13, 2017 6:03AM
- I'm not sure what you're asking. There are no maintenance tags on Judy O'Bannon. The page Draft:Judy O'Bannon was deleted by another admin because an article already exists, so there's no reason for a draft page.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 14:29, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up and advice on the Yoola page. I've made the changes to Draft:Yoola and submitted for review.
Tyronism
Hey, i created a page for a relegion that me and a lot of people in my community and a few others practice, I was wondering why it keeps getting removed. I see thst other religions like. Christianity get to habe a page, but ours doesn't? HCSwarrengraham (talk) 17:19, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- Read through the notability guide. I think you'll find Christianity is just a bit more notable, based on the number of independent, reliable sources that talk about it.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 17:23, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
I have read thst, but does thst mean that we can only make a page based off how many people agree with us??? HCSwarrengraham (talk) 17:26, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
Also, there is a reason behind the name, http://www.thefreedictionary.com/Tyronism HCSwarrengraham (talk) 17:27, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- Notability has nothing to do with people agreeing with you, nor whether there is a reason for the name. Perhaps you should read the guide again...--Fabrictramp | talk to me 22:27, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
I'm removing a tag you placed, and here's why
I am removing the {{Notability}}/Biographies tag you placed on Colleen Barros because IMO she passes POLOUTCOMES "Sub-cabinet officials". If you disagree, feel free to take the page to WP:AfD. Thanks! --Mr. Guye (talk) 21:23, 30 March 2017 (UTC)

- There wasn't anything of substance there, so you're much better off starting from scratch. Read through the links in the welcome message you got, especially about your first article and about independent, reliable sources. Then make a page at AfC and have it reviewed. Focus on showing in a neutral, encyclopedic way why the company is notable enough to be in an encyclopedia, and add references that are directly about that company, not just generic links to Intel and Best Buy.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 23:08, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
Deletion of the Page Bert Croucher
Hello,
I understand that the page I created did not look very professional at the time of creation, I apologize for this and would actually like to ask you a few questions as how to make it look more professional quickly ie; upload photographs etc, but first, i need approval; hey lol. I did try to contest the deletion but don't think I got to you in time so have copied and pasted it here...
This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (your reason here) --79.70.49.68 (talk) 04:17, 16 April 2017 (UTC) Bert Croucher is a notable part of the history of Southampton. He is mentioned in other Wikipedia posts with no link to his name which I plan to rectify. I would like to share many photos and information about his achievements; something that would be desired by those that are familiar with the sport as he is famous for his post of Speedway Manager for Southampton Saints at Banister Court Stadium in Hampshire. I will provide you with links whereby he is mentioned on your site so that you may make your decision. I am qualified to write the page as an Author/Novelist and Freelance Journalist and ensure that all information provided about Bert will be relevant and desired by those familiar with the sport - A big part of Southampton history dating back to the second world war. A well-known person, Bert Croucher played a big part in Saints Speedway for several decades- if you do a google search on his name you will see that this is true. He is also referred to in several books that can be found in some of the most prodigious bookshops and deserves to be given a page to honor his contributions to the sport and the people of Southampton. The reason I am trying to build the page is because he is listed elsewhere on Wikipedia and I would like to add references to his name to link the information together and also fill in some of the gaps to explain his contributions a little better. I can assure you that I will take great care with the page to ensure it is professional and relevant. links to him elsewhere are as followed; <ref>Southampton Saints</ref> SOUTHAMPTON SAINTS - Club information Bert Croucher.(Wikipedia) <ref>Southampton Saints Champions</ref> Southampton Saints Champions - runners up British league division two in 1962 and 1963 (Wikipedia) The History of Speedway ISBN NUMBER-0-904584-45-3 pages 20-25 Google search Daily echo Years forgone British Speedway Linked in Grasstrack GB and much more I will let you check it out.
Would you allow me to create a page for him now?
I also have another question which I may as well ask now as I have an opportunity to talk to someone who knows what they are doing on this site; I am an Author a series of teenage fiction Novels- published. Would I be able to set up a Wikipedia site for my series of books? and of myself as an author? thought I'd ask now rather than do it and have it deleted. Thanks a lot, I appreciate your time. Many thanks and Kind regards Amy Croucher (talk) 07:44, 16 April 2017 (UTC)

- If you want to try again on the Bert Croucher article (which I don't recommend, due to the conflict of interest issues, read the links in the welcome message at the top of your talk page, paying special attention to the parts about independent, reliable sources, and make a draft at AfC. Have it reviewed before moving it into article space, and take any feedback you get there seriously.
- As to your novels, perhaps you should go back and read the links in the message I left you about conflict of interest. They apply even more to articles on your own novels than they do to Bert Croucher... --Fabrictramp | talk to me 14:18, 16 April 2017 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Darren Rodwell
Hi there! You recently edited Darren Rodwell. I'm writing because I've filed a renewed proposal to delete the page, on grounds of insufficient notability. I'd like to invite your comments on this. Thanks! Matt 190417 (talk) 17:53, 4 June 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up. Yeah, I'm fine with that -- notability seems iffy at best. I just hate when people slap a BLP prod on an article within 20 minutes of creation instead of adding a ref -- seems bitey to me. :) --Fabrictramp | talk to me 23:17, 4 June 2017 (UTC)

You deleted this article as G3, a blatant hoax. Maybe there is something that I don't understand. It appears that Trey Sartorius is a real child actor whom Wikipedia has decided is not notable, and some editors have tried to sneak articles in past create protection. I see a notability issue, and the intentional use of incorrect spellings of his name is disruptive, but why is this being called a hoax? Robert McClenon (talk) 01:56, 12 August 2017 (UTC)
- I couldn't find anything that wasn't user submitted that showed he starred in the movies listed, the imdb link was dead. Perhaps it was just a really bad article? Seemed like a hoax to me.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 02:44, 12 August 2017 (UTC)
- Okay. I see. Unverifiable. There have been previous attempts to create the article, and some of them have involved sockpuppetry, but sockpuppetry and a hoax are two entirely different bad things. I am really puzzled. On a Google search, the IMDB link is no good. (You said that.) Something is wrong. I don't know what. Robert McClenon (talk) 03:22, 12 August 2017 (UTC)
What I gather you mean is that you find that a credible claim of significance was made, but that you couldn't find a case for notability, and the former is a less stringent test than the latter. Okay. Robert McClenon (talk) 04:43, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Juan fernando jaramillo
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Juan fernando jaramillo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. reddogsix (talk) 02:55, 30 August 2017 (UTC)
- I'm fine with the deletion, but A7 is the wrong reason for deleting a redirect going to a nonexistent page. G8 would have been the way to go on this.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 14:16, 30 August 2017 (UTC)

Response to your message
Hi Fabrictramp,
I am still getting acquainted with Wikipedian communication methods and etiquette. I read your message, particularly with regard to you assertion that I may have a conflict of interest with the topic. Abe Silverman was my grandfather. Does me writing about my grandfather violate a rule of which I was not aware? I don't wish to get into a long back in forth about objectivity (it's a rhetorical device that does not exist and is used by those with privilege and power to maintain their own social position). If I'm in violation of an unpublished rule for writing verifiable facts about my grandfather (I retracted a less verifiable assertion), then I'll take my energy elsewhere.

Hello,
Beginning in September 2017, the Wikimedia Foundation Anti-harassment tool team will be conducting a survey to gauge how well tools, training, and information exists to assist English Wikipedia administrators in recognizing and mitigating things like sockpuppetry, vandalism, and harassment.
The survey should only take 5 minutes, and your individual response will not be made public. This survey will be integral for our team to determine how to better support administrators.
To take the survey sign up here and we will send you a link to the form.
We really appreciate your input!

Namely this proposal by the Macedonian president for UN:
DRAFT UNITED NATIONS RESOLUTION
The General Assembly,
Taking into considerations that “the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”, admitted into to the United Nations membership in 1993, by the Resolution 47/225, upon recommendation of the Security Council Resolution 817 (1993), had been until present day recognized by the enormous majority of United Nations members by its Constitutional name and that negotiations with Greece over the State’s name didn’t yielded in any outcome,
Considering Articles 2 (particularly par.1,4,7) and 4(1) of the Charter of the United Nations,
Heaving in mind also the General Assembly Resolutions 113/II of 1947 and 197/III of 1948, and particularly the Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice delivered on 28 of May, 1948, relating to inadmissibility of preconditions for membership outside of the scope of the exhaustive conditions of Article 4(1) of United Nations Charter,
Reaffirming that every state naturally has an inherent right to a name and that determination of the state’s names represent the subject of their sovereign domestic jurisdiction,
Reaffirming also that state’s names, as a legal identity of international subjects is essential element of their juridical personality, and their statehood,
For the purpose to resolve the long term unusual and unacceptable membership status of the state member of the United Nations, issue originated from the unusual admission resolutions stipulating preconditions outside of the scope of the exhaustive conditions of Article 4(1) of the Charter of the United Nations, and for the purpose to protect the order of the United Nations and particularly the legal representation in the United Nations System,
Decides to extend the membership of the state provisionally referred as “the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia” under its official constitutional name Republic of Macedonia.

Madame Monsieur
I saw you decline the speedy deletion nomination on the Madame Monsieur article because Eurovision was enough to be notable, but they aren't competing in Eurovision and I just wanted to clarify that. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 22:54, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Jjj1238:Sorry, that was an abbreviation to make the edit summary more concise. A7 is designed for bands that can't even make a good faith claim of notability (like, we fo, and being in a national final for Eurovision would be enough for a novice editor to assume they are important. Do they meet the stricter notability standard to have the article stick around? I'm not judging that in declining the speedy. If you think they don't, AfD would be the way to go.----Fabrictramp | talk to me 23:00, 21 January 2018 (UTC)

- An RfC has closed with a consensus that candidates at WP:RFA must disclose whether they have ever edited for pay and that administrators may never use administrative tools as part of any paid editing activity, except when they are acting as a Wikipedian-in-Residence or when the payment is made by the Wikimedia Foundation or an affiliate of the WMF.
- Editors responding to threats of harm can now contact the Wikimedia Foundation's emergency address by using Special:EmailUser/Emergency. If you don't have email enabled on Wikipedia, directly contacting the emergency address using your own email client remains an option.
- A tag will now be automatically applied to edits that blank a page, turn a page into a redirect, remove/replace almost all content in a page, undo an edit, or rollback an edit. These edits were previously denoted solely by automatic edit summaries.
- The Arbitration Committee has enacted a change to the discretionary sanctions procedure which requires administrators to add a standardized editnotice when placing page restrictions. Editors cannot be sanctioned for violations of page restrictions if this editnotice was not in place at the time of the violation.

Article talk page - review by NPR
Hi, Fabrictramp, Greetings. I am a new page reviewer (NPR) and I have 2 questions and hope you could assist me
- Does a NRP could or should place the project tags and quality scale on the article talk page when the NRP has curated the page?
- If the article has only a sentence and no source provided such as the one I had place CSD Magura Govt. Boys High School which you have declined and moved to draft space to give the creator more time to develop the page, could NPR move the page to draft page or it is the admin right to do so? I ask this question as I have encounter another page as such in the new pages feed - Scolt Sami language.
Kindly advise and thanks in advance. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 14:16, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- @CASSIOPEIA: For #1, you can do as much or as little on the talk page as you care to. I'd say 99% of NPR's don't place those tags, but if you feel inspired the projects will appreciate it. As to moving to draft space, yes please do so! After the move you'll probably want to tag the redirect for deletion. :) Thanks for asking, and thanks for helping out!----Fabrictramp | talk to me 02:19, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Fabrictramp, Good day. Thank you for the quick response. Appreciate it.
- If most of the NPR don't work on the article talk page after they have curated the page, then which group would usually would pick up the task?
- When a page is "move" from namespace to draft, I thought you just "move it" but not redirect. Could you explain further and maybe layout the steps for me please.
- Thanks in advance for the assistance above. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 16:41, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- The various projects find the pages and tag the talk pages, usually based on the categories. Similarly, various people patrol through pages that need categories and add them, etc.
- When you choose "move" from the menu, for non-admins the page will get moved and a re-direct will automatically get created. (Admins can choose to suppress the redirect.) You can get more details at WP:MOVE----Fabrictramp | talk to me 04:38, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Fabrictramp, Thank you. That would I would usually have done. So I will use the move from the menu, and will send a message to the creator and attach appropriate links to help to find topics where they could improve the article with Wikipedia guidelines. Appreciate your help Fabrictramp. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 19:08, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
- Fabrictramp, Greetings to you. I have done up on of the article talk page tag. Kindly advise if I have done it correctly - see here Talk:Pauline Londeix. Could you also advise me (1) where to find all the Wikiproject lists so I could input the correct project group in the text, and (2) where could I find the template guidelines and "how to" template guidelines and wiki mark-up particularly for tagging article talk page in Wikipedia. Thank you in advance. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 11:35, 6 February 2018 (UTC)
- I pretty much never add those templates, so I have no idea if they're right or not. LOL. You might ask at the Teahouse. I don't know if there's an up-to-date list of wikiprojects, but Category:Articles by WikiProject would be a good place to start. Each of the subcategories there should have a link to the wikiproject page. Cheers! ----Fabrictramp | talk to me 02:17, 7 February 2018 (UTC)

- Community ban discussions must now stay open for at least 24 hours prior to being closed.
- A change to the administrator inactivity policy has been proposed. Under the proposal, if an administrator has not used their admin tools for a period of five years and is subsequently desysopped for inactivity, the administrator would have to file a new RfA in order to regain the tools.
- A change to the banning policy has been proposed which would specify conditions under which a repeat sockmaster may be considered de facto banned, reducing the need to start a community ban discussion for these users.
- CheckUsers are now able to view private data such as IP addresses from the edit filter log, e.g. when the filter prevents a user from creating an account. Previously, this information was unavailable to CheckUsers because access to it could not be logged.

- Administrators who have been desysopped due to inactivity are now required to have performed at least one (logged) administrative action in the past 5 years in order to qualify for a resysop without going through a new RfA.
- Editors who have been found to have engaged in sockpuppetry on at least two occasions after an initial indefinite block, for whatever reason, are now automatically considered banned by the community without the need to start a ban discussion.
- The notability guideline for organizations and companies has been substantially rewritten following the closure of this request for comment. Among the changes, the guideline more clearly defines the sourcing requirements needed for organizations and companies to be considered notable.
- The six-month autoconfirmed article creation trial (ACTRIAL) ended on 14 March 2018. The post-trial research report has been published. A request for comment is now underway to determine whether the restrictions from ACTRIAL should be implemented permanently.
- There will soon be a calendar widget at Special:Block, making it easier to set expiries for a specific date and time.
- The Arbitration Committee is considering a change to the discretionary sanctions procedures which would require an editor to appeal a sanction to the community at WP:AE or WP:AN prior to appealing directly to the Arbitration Committee at WP:ARCA.
- A discussion has closed which concluded that administrators are not required to enable email, though many editors suggested doing so as a matter of best practice.
- The Foundations' Anti-Harassment Tools team has released the Interaction Timeline. This shows a chronologic history for two users on pages where they have both made edits, which may be helpful in identifying sockpuppetry and investigating editing disputes.

- Following a successful request for comment, administrators are now able to add and remove editors to the "event coordinator" group. Users in the event coordinator group have the ability to temporarily add the "confirmed" flag to new user accounts and to create many new user accounts without being hindered by a rate limit. Users will no longer need to be in the "account creator" group if they are in the event coordinator group.
- Following an AN discussion, all pages with content related to blockchain and cryptocurrencies, broadly construed, are now under indefinite general sanctions.
- IP-based cookie blocks should be deployed to English Wikipedia in June. This will cause the block of a logged-out user to be reloaded if they change IPs. This means in most cases, you may no longer need to do /64 range blocks on residential IPv6 addresses in order to effectively block the end user. It will also help combat abuse from IP hoppers in general. For the time being, it only affects users of the desktop interface.
- The Wikimedia Foundation's Anti-Harassment Tools team will build granular types of blocks in 2018 (e.g. a block from uploading or editing specific pages, categories, or namespaces, as opposed to a full-site block). Feedback on the concept may be left at the talk page.
- There is now a checkbox on Special:ListUsers to let you see only users in temporary user groups.
- It is now easier for blocked mobile users to see why they were blocked.
- A recent technical issue with the Arbitration Committee's spam filter inadvertently caused all messages sent to the committee through Wikipedia (i.e. Special:EmailUser/Arbitration Committee) to be discarded. If you attempted to send an email to the Arbitration Committee via Wikipedia between May 16 and May 31, your message was not received and you are encouraged to resend it. Specifically, a draft that has been repeatedly resubmitted and declined at AfC without any substantial improvement may be deleted at MfD if consensus determines that it is unlikely to ever meet the requirements for mainspace and it otherwise meets one of the reasons for deletion outlined in the deletion policy.
- A request for comment closed with a consensus that the {{promising draft}} template cannot be used to indefinitely prevent a WP:G13 speedy deletion nomination.
- Starting on July 9, the WMF Security team, Trust & Safety, and the broader technical community will be seeking input on an upcoming change that will restrict editing of site-wide JavaScript and CSS to a new technical administrators user group. Bureaucrats and stewards will be able to grant this right per a community-defined process. The intention is to reduce the number of accounts who can edit frontend code to those who actually need to, which in turn lessens the risk of malicious code being added that compromises the security and privacy of everyone who accesses Wikipedia. For more information, please review the FAQ.
- Syntax highlighting has been graduated from a Beta feature on the English Wikipedia. To enable this feature, click the highlighter icon ( ) in your editing toolbar (or under the hamburger menu in the 2017 wikitext editor). This feature can help prevent you from making mistakes when editing complex templates.

Why did you delete Phenom People Inc?
I would like to know why you deleted the page, Phenom People. What was wrong with it? It was all factually based and thoroughly cited. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alimorganp (talk • contribs) 03:59, 25 July 2018 (UTC)
- Take a few minutes to carefully read and comprehend the speedy deletion notice that was placed on your page. Nothing in there says the page was not fact based or cited. I would advise you not to recreate the page under any other page names -- instead, ready the reasons why the page has been deleted multiple times. If you think you can address those reasons and write a quality page, do so in the draft space and have it reviewed before it gets moved into the main article space. Continuing to recreate this page will lead to your being blocked from editing.----Fabrictramp | talk to me 00:16, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
Contested deletion
As stated in the Talk part of Corey Ellis (musical artist) page. We were simply trying to expand the content on his page by adding more content for his fans to explore. It was never our intention to do cause deletions for either person. If we could at least get the code back for this we will continue to work on this on these items until they meet the standards.
Our team's goal was not to cause an issue we just simply wanted to give more content to your site with very credible sources or what we believed were.
I hope you have a great day, and would appreciate a second look as I feel these were done very impulsive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ktthatme (talk • contribs) 01:35, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
- I can assure you that starting a discussion on whether Corey Ellis (musical artist) should be deleted was not impulsive. I have been an admin on Wikipedia for many years and tend to decline more deletions than I request or do. However, that article isn't deleted, so there is nothing to restore there.
- I do have some concerns, however. Your user name already seemed problematic, implying you might be associated with Kyle Treadwell, which gives you a conflict of interest in your edits. And your message above says that you are editing for a group, which is also a problem (see WP:SHAREDACCOUNT).
- Take some time to carefully read the deletion discussion, then read the links on general notability and notability for musicians. After you are sure you understand those, feel free to address those concerns in the deletion discussion.----Fabrictramp | talk to me 15:17, 26 July 2018 (UTC)

Deletion Contested - Phenom People Inc.
Hi - previously I had asked why the Phenom People Inc. page was deleted and you responded by saying that while it was factually based and well cited, you deleted it because it had "unambiguous advertising or promotion". I would like to know what specifically needs to be fixed so this page can be produced. You said to ready the reasons why the page should stand. With each edit, I've corrected to follow Wikipedia's guidelines by sourcing and writing in language that is non-promotional. As I have no affiliation with the brand, I have no bias. How would you advise that we proceed?

Administrators' newsletter – August 2018
News and updates for administrators from the past month (July 2018).
- After a discussion at Meta, a new user group called "interface administrators" (formerly "technical administrator") has been created. Come the end of August, interface admins will be the only users able to edit site-wide JavaScript and CSS pages like MediaWiki:Common.js and MediaWiki:Common.css, or edit other user's personal JavaScript and CSS. The intention is to improve security and privacy by reducing the number of accounts which could be used to compromise the site or another user's account through malicious code. The new user group can be assigned and revoked by bureaucrats. Discussion is ongoing to establish details for implementing the group on the English Wikipedia.
- Following a request for comment, the WP:SISTER style guideline now states that in the mainspace, interwiki links to Wikinews should only be made as per the external links guideline. This generally means that within the body of an article, you should not link to Wikinews about a particular event that is only a part of the larger topic. Wikinews links in "external links" sections can be used where helpful, but not automatically if an equivalent article from a reliable news outlet could be linked in the same manner.
- The WMF Anti-Harassment Tools team is seeking input on the second set of wireframes for the Special:Block redesign that will introduce partial blocks. The new functionality will allow you to block a user from editing a specific set of pages, pages in a category, a namespace, and for specific actions such as moving pages and uploading files.

It is my understanding that the page should have had 7 days to be revised, edited or such before it was deleted. This company has been around for about 100 years and while it may not be popular with the Kardashian clan culture of the moment, the company has invented and produced products that are medically relevant.. Especially in the field of Podiatry. They are essentially the company that created the modern powder for Athletes foot and also developed and trademarked what I believe was the 1st commercially available foot dispenser for treatment among athletes, industrial workers and hospitals. I am pretty sure we delivered 10 references including the links to the approved patents. The De Fremery family has been a long standing well known members of the Palo Alto and Northern California communities and have been extremely active within political arguments regarding property taxation over the last 150 years. Again their accomplishments may not be apparent to the common media but within the fields of medicine and podiatry they are quite relevant, even to this day.

- Following a request for comment, the process for appointing interface administrators has been established. Currently only existing admins can request these rights, while a new RfC has begun on whether it should be available to non-admins.
- There is an open request for comment on Meta regarding the creation a new user group for global edit filter management.
- Partial blocks should be available for testing in October on the Test Wikipedia and the Beta-Cluster. This new feature allows admins to block users from editing specific pages and in the near-future, namespaces and uploading files. You can expect more updates and an invitation to help with testing once it is available.
- The Foundations' Anti-Harassment Tools team is currently looking for input on how to measure the effectiveness of blocks. This is in particular related to how they will measure the success of the aforementioned partial blocks.
- Because of a data centre test, you will be able to read but not edit the Wikimedia projects for up to an hour on 10 October. This will start at 14:00 (UTC). You might lose edits if you try to save during this time.
- The Arbitration Committee has, by motion, amended the procedure on functionary inactivity.
- The community consultation for 2018 CheckUser and Oversight appointments has concluded. Appointments will be made by October 11.
- Following a request for comment, the size of the Arbitration Committee will be decreased to 13 arbitrators, starting in 2019. Additionally, the minimum support percentage required to be appointed to a two-year term on ArbCom has been increased to 60%. ArbCom candidates who receive between 50% and 60% support will be appointed to one-year terms instead.
- Nominations for the 2018 Arbitration Committee Electoral Commission are being accepted until 12 October. These are the editors who help run the ArbCom election smoothly. If you are interested in volunteering for this role, please consider nominating yourself.

Draft:HDPE Pipe CSD
Request to reconsider CSD'ing the HDPE pipe as a huge section is copy-pasted from that company website. That's why I thought it was advertising. HDPE already has an article as well. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 05:16, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- So it is a copyvio? If so, tag as such and I'll be happy to delete it, otherwise best to just delete offending lines. As to the dupe, since this is a draft the way to go would be talking to the editor and suggesting they revamp the draft to show my HDPE pipe is notable enough to warrant a separate article. It probably isn't, but it's a good educational opportunity.----Fabrictramp | talk to me 17:01, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
Administrators' newsletter – November 2018
News and updates for administrators from the past month (October 2018).
- A request for comment determined that non-administrators will not be able to request interface admin access.
- A request for comment is in progress to determine whether the Mediation Committee should be closed and marked as historical.
- A village pump discussion has been ongoing about whether the proposed deletion policy (PROD) should be clarified or amended.
- A request for comment is in progress to determine whether pending changes protection should be applied automatically to today's featured article (TFA) in order to mitigate a recent trend of severe image vandalism.
- Partial blocks is now available for testing on the Test Wikipedia. The new functionality allows you to block users from editing specific pages. Bugs may exist and can be reported on the local talk page or on Meta. A discussion regarding deployment to English Wikipedia will be started by community liaisons sometime in the near future.
- A user script is now available to quickly review unblock requests.
- The 2019 Community Wishlist Survey is now accepting new proposals until November 11, 2018. The results of this survey will determine what software the Wikimedia Foundation's Community Tech team will work on next year. Voting on the proposals will take place from November 16 to November 30, 2018. Specifically, there is a proposal category for admins and stewards that may be of interest.
- Eligible editors will be invited to nominate themselves as candidates in the 2018 Arbitration Committee Elections starting on November 4 until November 13. Voting will begin on November 19 and last until December 2.
- The Arbitration Committee's email address has changed to arbcom-en wikimedia.org. Other email lists, such as functionaries-en and clerks-l, remain unchanged.
ArbCom 2018 election voter message
Hello, Fabrictramp. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

Interface administrator changes
- Following a request for comment, the Mediation Committee is now closed and will no longer be accepting case requests.
- A request for comment is in progress to determine whether members of the Bot Approvals Group should satisfy activity requirements in order to remain in that role.
- A request for comment is in progress regarding whether to change the administrator inactivity policy, such that administrators "who have made no logged administrative actions for at least 12 months may be desysopped". Currently, the policy states that administrators "who have made neither edits nor administrative actions for at least 12 months may be desysopped".
- A proposal has been made to temporarily restrict editing of the Main Page to interface administrators in order to mitigate the impact of compromised accounts.
- Administrators and bureaucrats can no longer unblock themselves unless they placed the block initially. This change has been implemented globally. See also this ongoing village pump discussion (permalink).
- To complement the aforementioned change, blocked administrators will soon have the ability to block the administrator that placed their block to mitigate the possibility of a compromised administrator account blocking all other active administrators.
- Since deployment of Partial blocks on Test Wikipedia, several bugs were identified. Most of them are now fixed. Administrators are encouraged to test the new deployment and report new bugs on Phabricator or leave feedback on the Project's talk page. You can request administrator access on the Test Wiki here.
- Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee Elections is open to eligible editors until Monday 23:59, 3 December 2018. Please review the candidates and, if you wish to do so, submit your choices on the voting page.
- In late November, an attacker compromised multiple accounts, including at least four administrator accounts, and used them to vandalize Wikipedia. If you have ever used your current password on any other website, you should change it immediately. Sharing the same password across multiple websites makes your account vulnerable, especially if your password was used on a website that suffered a data breach. As these incidents have shown, these concerns are not pure fantasies.
- Wikipedia policy requires administrators to have strong passwords. To further reinforce security, administrators should also consider enabling two-factor authentication. A committed identity can be used to verify that you are the true account owner in the event that your account is compromised and/or you are unable to log in.
- Shock Brigade Harvester Boris (Raymond Arritt) passed away on 14 November 2018. Boris joined Wikipedia as Raymond arritt on 8 May 2006 and was an administrator from 30 July 2007 to 2 June 2008.
Proposed Deletion of Action Deafness
I noticed you've done some work on Action Deafness. Just to let you know, I've nominated it for deletion. You can see the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/December 2018#Action Deafness.CircleGirl (talk) 01:40, 12 December 2018 (UTC)

Recreate article Vera Von Monika
I would like to recreate my article that was recently deleted for lack of reliable sources. I've done my research and come with more references including the IMDB page of the artist I'm doing this article. How can I procede? (Jezzyescobar (talk) 23:23, 17 December 2018 (UTC))
- @Jezzyescobar: I've restored the article and moved it to Draft:Vera Von Monika, which will give you more, but not unlimited, time to work on it. Take a few minutes to read the notability guidelines. You'll need to add independent, reliable sources to avoid deletion.----Fabrictramp | talk to me 05:00, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Fabrictramp: Thank you so much. I worked in my article, so I just hope I could get feedback from the community so my article is ready to be posted as a permanent one (Jezzyescobar (talk) 00:49, 21 December 2018 (UTC))

Administrators' newsletter – January 2019
News and updates for administrators from the past month (December 2018).
- There are a number of new or changed speedy deletion criteria, each previously part of WP:CSD#G6:
- G14 (new): Disambiguation pages that disambiguate only zero or one existing pages are now covered under the new G14 criterion (discussion). This is {{db-disambig}}; the text is unchanged and candidates may be found in Category:Candidates for speedy deletion as unnecessary disambiguation pages.
- R4 (new): Redirects in the file namespace (and no file links) that have the same name as a file or redirect at Commons are now covered under the new R4 criterion (discussion). This is {{db-redircom}}; the text is unchanged.
- G13 (expanded): Userspace drafts containing only the default Article Wizard text are now covered under G13 along with other drafts (discussion). Such blank drafts are now eligible after six months rather than one year, and taggers continue to use {{db-blankdraft}}.
- The Wikimedia Foundation now requires all interface administrators to enable two-factor authentication.
- Members of the Bot Approvals Group (BAG) are now subject to an activity requirement. After two years without any bot-related activity (e.g. operating a bot, posting on a bot-related talk page), BAG members will be retired from BAG following a one-week notice.
- Starting on December 13, the Wikimedia Foundation security team implemented new password policy and requirements. Privileged accounts (administrators, bureaucrats, checkusers, oversighters, interface administrators, bots, edit filter managers/helpers, template editors, et al.) must have a password at least 10 characters in length. All accounts must have a password:
- At least 8 characters in length
- Not in the 100,000 most popular passwords (defined by the Password Blacklist library)
- Different from their username
- User accounts not meeting these requirements will be prompted to update their password accordingly. More information is available on MediaWiki.org.
- Blocked administrators may now block the administrator that blocked them. This was done to mitigate the possibility that a compromised administrator account would block all other active administrators, complementing the removal of the ability to unblock oneself outside of self-imposed blocks. A request for comment is currently in progress to determine whether the blocking policy should be updated regarding this change.
- {{Copyvio-revdel}} now has a link to open the history with the RevDel checkboxes already filled in.
- Following the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections, the following editors have been appointed to the Arbitration Committee: AGK, Courcelles, GorillaWarfare, Joe Roe, Mkdw, SilkTork.
- Accounts continue to be compromised on a regular basis. Evidence shows this is entirely due to the accounts having the same password that was used on another website that suffered a data breach. If you have ever used your current password on any other website, you should change it immediately.
- Around 22% of admins have enabled two-factor authentication, up from 20% in June 2018. If you haven't already enabled it, please consider doing so. Regardless of whether you use 2FA, please practice appropriate account security by ensuring your password is secure and unique to Wikimedia.
Vandalism
Intentionally screwing up a rd also "verges on vandalism". Why don't you do something useful, like actually fix the rd? — kwami (talk) 04:15, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
If you had left it alone, a bot would've taken care of it. Since you're interfering, why don't you contribute to WP and either rd it correctly, or delete it if there is no article to rd it to? Rather than intentionally introducing errors. — kwami (talk) 04:18, 16 January 2019 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – February 2019
News and updates for administrators from the past month (January 2019).
Interface administrator changes
- A request for comment is currently open to reevaluate the activity requirements for administrators.
- Administrators who are blocked have the technical ability to block the administrator who blocked their own account. A recent request for comment has amended the blocking policy to clarify that this ability should only be used in exceptional circumstances, such as account compromises, where there is a clear and immediate need.
- A request for comment closed with a consensus in favor of deprecating The Sun as a permissible reference, and creating an edit filter to warn users who attempt to cite it.
- A discussion regarding an overhaul of the format and appearance of Wikipedia:Requests for page protection is in progress (permalink). The proposed changes will make it easier to create requests for those who are not using Twinkle. The workflow for administrators at this venue will largely be unchanged. Additionally, there are plans to archive requests similar to how it is done at WP:PERM, where historical records are kept so that prior requests can more easily be searched for.
- Voting in the 2019 Steward elections will begin on 08 February 2019, 14:00 (UTC) and end on 28 February 2019, 13:59 (UTC). The confirmation process of current stewards is being held in parallel. You can automatically check your eligibility to vote.
- A new IRC bot is available that allows you to subscribe to notifications when specific filters are tripped. This requires that your IRC handle be identified.

- The RfC on administrator activity requirements failed to reach consensus for any proposal.
- Following discussions at the Bureaucrats' noticeboard and Wikipedia talk:Administrators, an earlier change to the restoration of adminship policy was reverted. If requested, bureaucrats will not restore administrator permissions removed due to inactivity if there have been five years without a logged administrator action; this "five year rule" does not apply to permissions removed voluntarily.
- A new tool is available to help determine if a given IP is an open proxy/VPN/webhost/compromised host.
- The Arbitration Committee announced two new OTRS queues. Both are meant solely for cases involving private information; other cases will continue to be handled at the appropriate venues (e.g., WP:COIN or WP:SPI).
- paid-en-wp wikipedia.org has been set up to receive private evidence related to abusive paid editing.
- checkuser-en-wp wikipedia.org has been set up to receive private requests for CheckUser. For instance, requests for IP block exemption for anonymous proxy editing should now be sent to this address instead of the functionaries-en list.
- The Arbitration Committee announced two new OTRS queues. Both are meant solely for cases involving private information; other cases will continue to be handled at the appropriate venues (e.g., WP:COIN or WP:SPI).
- Following the 2019 Steward Elections, the following editors have been appointed as stewards: Base, Einsbor, Jon Kolbert, Schniggendiller, and Wim b.
