The article Kenneth Whalum III has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

• make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
• Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

On a separate talk https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:APerson I got an OK to repost with the Reference links from his interview with the National Museum of African American Music. Why was the page declined now? ~

APerson said it was OK to use as a source. And it's a good source of information about the subject. APerson did not say that a YouTube video confers notability. Because the video just shows Kevin Whalum talking about himself, it's what we call a primary source. A subject requires multiple sources that establish notability. The sources need to provide significant coverage as well as being reliable and independent. The YouTube video is one source. It would be considered reliable, but not independent coverage.

The article needs to establish exactly what criteria of WP:MUSICBIO have been met here. He needs to meet only one of them. But I am not seeing that. ~Amatulić (talk) 23:42, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
