Thanks for your hilarious support on the HM talk page. It was exactly what i was trying to say but i thought it might be a bit too obnoxious. I'm glad to see there are some realists at HM too. ;) I see you're new here, so if you need any help feel free to ask questions on my talk page. Have fun editing and ignore the idiots, or should I say don't take them seriously, life is too short. David D. (Talk) 01:06, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
- So few realists? Shame, but you'll be out in the real world when you go to university. I see you're into track and field. I too used to run in my younger days. A great sport although unfortunately very unpopular in the US. Did you see Lagat and Bekele at the Millrose by any chance? David D. (Talk) 03:18, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
reverting edits
If you click on the history menu you will find all the previous version are cached. Click on the version you wish to revert to. When that version comes up click on edit this page and save that version. All edits after that version will be lost. Does that make sense? David D. (Talk) 14:38, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Differences in GoF Book and Film
Sure. I'll try to add a little to the last section. Emily 22:35, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
I'm still trying to learn, though, when it comes to some of this wikipedia stuff. Where should I put what I do? Emily 22:41, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
I'm sorry. I dodn't get much done last night. I can do a little more now. Thanks, I might make one of those User:Luvtheheaven/ pages sometime in the future, but for now I think I'll keep adding to your page (if that's ok with you). That way we'll both be able to easily see what each other has done. Emily 19:54, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
Sure, I'll start there. Emily 20:29, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
Ok. Emily 20:33, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, well, we should combine them... AND put them under "B" for "Barty". Can you do it? I can try and change Neville's Parents (N for Neville?). Emily 21:08, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
That's good. I like that change, I mean... (I've combines all of the differences about the third task into one, I hope it's not too long)... Emily 21:58, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
Well, tell me if I should try to shorten the Third Task one... I'm looking at your First Task now, and it looks good, although you might want to add that in the book, Harry found out about what the other three champions did from Ron (but that didn't happen in the movie). I just added the differences in the Graveyard scene... Emily 22:19, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
I was adding some stuff about the ropes... but there was an editing conflict, and you ahd already done so! What should I do now? Anything? Emily 22:39, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
Good idea about the characters... It's fine, what you have. I just, well, are there any more differences I should add? I'll try to check myself. Tell me when you've figured out about the characters! :) Emily 22:43, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
SPEW sounds good. I'm doing that now. Emily 22:51, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
That character list is impressive. The page looks good. If I have time during the next half hour, I'll try to see if there's anything else we should add. Otherwise, it looks pretty darn good! Emily 00:33, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- Okay. So there probably should be a mention of the fact that Cedric's father was quite rude to Harry in the book, and not in the movie. (There's a famous quote: "Ced's talked about you, of course," said Amos Diggory. "Told us all about playing against you last year...I said to him, I said - Ced, that'll be something to tell your grandchildren, that will...you beat Harry Potter!"), note this difference listed on Differences between book and film versions of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: In the movie, Cedric reappears and tells Harry to take his body back to his father. In the book, Cedric tells Harry to take his body back to his parents. Cedric's mother does not appear in the movie. Additionally, Amos Diggory was considerably kinder towards Harry in the film, as opposed to being rather rude to him as he was in the book; perhaps so that the audience would be a touch more sympathetic to the character after the loss of his son at the end. (Bold mine.)
- Is the invisibility cloak in the 4th movie at all? Because it's used at multiple times throughout the book, and if it's not it could be counted as an excluded item... I'll be able to tell you if it is (in the film or not) by tomorrow evening...
- Polyjuce Potion is mentioned before Barty Crouch Jr. is revealed in the book. On page 516 in my American version, the chapter "Padfoot Returns", I quote (bold is mine):
- "'Don't lie to me,' Snape hissed, his fathomless black eyes boring into Harry's. 'Boomslang Skin. Gillyweed. Both come from my private stores, and I know who stole them.'
- Harry stared back at Snape, determined not to blink or to look guilty. In truth, he hadn't stolen either of these things from Snape. Hermione had taken the boomslang skin back in their second year - they had needed it for the Polyjuice Potion - and while Snape had suspected Harry at the time, he had never been able to prove it. Dobby, of course, had stolen the gillyweed."
- Is the invisibility cloak in the 4th movie at all? Because it's used at multiple times throughout the book, and if it's not it could be counted as an excluded item... I'll be able to tell you if it is (in the film or not) by tomorrow evening...
- We should change the part, then about when Polyjuice Potion is first mentioned in the book.
- Perhaps we should mention the points given for the Triwizard Tournament in the book, and how there isn't any evident scoring method in the movie.
- It might be good to also mention that Hermione is supposed to be ugly in the books and much more beautiful than ever for the Yule Ball, unlike in the movie where Emma Watson is always quite pretty.
- The added running gag in the movie of Filch setting off a connon too early to signal the beginning of each task was not in the book...
- The explanation of Priori Incantatem is virtually non-existent in the movie, perhaps this might affect book/movie 7 if Voldemort and Harry still are unable to duel because of shared wand cores, we should add something about that...

That's it! Sorry! It's soooo long, I know... Emily 01:39, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
Cool. Tell me if there's anything you didn't manage to find time to do, or couldn't do yourself. Emily 01:59, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
Sure. I'll do Amos Diggory stuff now. My book is the one I bouht the weekend it came out in 1999. Pages 81-148 are bound together, yet as a section have fallen out of the book completely. Same with pages 149-176. Basically, my book is in three pieces! But other than that it's in perfect condition, lol. Emily 02:04, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- D Yeah. Anyway, I'm doing that Amos thing now (I'm going to put it under C for Cedric's Parents, by the way). Oh, and remove the invisibility cloak thing. I was wrong. If you look here, [1], you'll see the answer to my question, and the invisibility cloak DID appear in the movie afterall. Sorry.
Alright. It's taking me FOREVER to finish Amos Diggory, as I keep getting interrupted. But I'm doing it. And if Hermione's gown COLOR is added, I thought the other, more memorable details might want to be added, but I don't feel strongly about it... Emily 03:12, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
I really hope it's okay, I posted the Cedric's parents stuff, but it's probably too long, and needs to be more concise. I think I added too much of the 2nd quote, and not enough links. But I'm tired. I can look at it tomorrow if you'd like me to. The Hermione at the Yule Ball section is good, though. Perfect. Emily 03:43, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
Good job. It looks impressive. Someone from funtrivia, however, said that there is a mistake, and that Dobby (or a house0elf that looks a lot like him) appears in the distance at the Quidditch World Cup... Emily 19:54, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
How come you removed Dobby as an omitted character? Where does he appear?Amo 20:08, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
I still don't remember those two seconds, but I believe they happened (it actually does sound vaguely familliar, but the whole movie happened so fast it was hard to take in everything). Was is definitely Dobby that appeared, because Amo above doesn't know, and I'm not sure. It could have just been "some house-elf". Anyway, that note about House-elves you added does the job perfectly. I think we're done with the page. It was nice working with you! You should feel proud of what you've accomplished! Emily 20:16, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- Exactly. I'm just not convinced. I had a look at those stills and it didn't jump out at me as Dobby. So how sure are you that it's him, because quite apart from what we see on the screen there are points of the story that would make it unlikely (Would he already have his Hogwarts wages to be able to go? Why would he seek emplyment at a school during the summer holidays? House elves aren't known for enjoying having fun, or associating with Dobby. Why would he be one of a pair there?)?
Signatures
How do I change my signature from simply being my name (Emily) as a link to my main userpage, to having those little links for my talk page? I really would like a talk link... Emily 20:47, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
I was trying a lot of stuff, and I was trying to copy you, but it wasn't working. Now it is. I'm so happy now. Thanks! Emily (Funtrivia Freak) 00:20, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
Cool. It's hard to have a life, do much on wikipdeia, AND be active at funtrivia. What's your username at FunTrivia? I have written 38 quizzes that have gotten online- one ([2]) actually compares the 4th book and movie! And two others are Harry Potter quizzes... just scroll down to my list of quizzes on this page, [3], and look for them. Emily (Funtrivia Freak) 01:27, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
Cool. Tell me what you think of them! You can send me a message through FunTrivia if you like!
The comma
Hello. I'm afraid it was a bit churlish of me to stick the grammar explanation into the edit history. Would have been more polite to put it here. I'm rather a careless editor myself, as no doubt you already noticed. It was just that that one annoyed me, and it was not the only example of the same thing. I saw another one somewhere. In this case and with regard to your reply, the comma isn't part of the original quote. As you say, it is there because we have another 'which' clause coming up as part of our sentence. So the comma is part of the new sentence, not the quote, so goes outside the quote marks. In this case I was also unsure as to whether the quote should start with a capital letter. This struck me as unusual, but I was not sure it was wrong.
Now, if you really want to get into this, wiki has a standard style for making quotes, and i think using the normal double quote character is wrong. But I can't remember and am not so hung up about that point. I would naturally use a single quote mark myself, but again I am not sure that is official wiki guidance either. Sandpiper 09:44, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
yule ball
yes, i agree the title hermione and yule ball seemed a bit daft when it had become mostly not about her. I felt it important to mention nevilles dancing, because the film is really hyping this romance/comedy aspect of the story and it wasn't in the book, but I also wasn't sure where to put it. Neville is mentioned in several sections (again, the film has deliberately built up his character), but it didn't seem appropriate to add to the bit about his parents death, which mentions him by name. I liked having specific people mentioned in section titles though, makes it easier to spot a name if you are interested in particular characters. So i wasn't entorely sure what to do about it. Re: userboxes
I don't really know. All I know is that the boxes are located on a transcluded subpage, User:Hermione1980/Templates. Evilphoenix actually did the work, for which I still owe him a wikifavor, but maybe copying the code from that page and inserting your own templates will work. Hermione1980 23:09, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
- Wikifavor huh? Hm....Wikibackrub? Or you could go through and add all the Harry Potter stubs to Deathphoenix's Watchlist, and merge them into other articles in cases where that's needed, fixing redirects as you go. Or I'll just carry on with it. :-) Ëvilphoenix Burn! 04:44, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
Excuse me.
Hi Fbv65edel, It's me Daniel5127. I am as new member of Harry Potter Wikipedian. HBP Differences
Heya. Yeah, I deleted it because a) I felt there was enough consensus, and b) one of our definite policies is that Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. However, you'll be pleased to know that the material is easily retrievable; create a subpage in your personal userspace, and I'll paste it in (once you tell me the address). Hi!
Would you please make sure to discuss any further edits on the HM discussion page? It makes it easier to reach concensus that way. Make sure that you edit for notability, not personal preferance. Have a great night!!! Cheers, CherryPop 03:14, 25 April 2006 (UTC)CherryPop
Hi.
Hi Fbv65edel, I haven't seen you for about week. Do you remember me(Daniel5127)? Thanks you for the message before. I have something to ask you about Harry Potter. The differences between Order of the Phoenix, are there any evidence that Jennifer Smith is not going to be Lavender Brown's role in Order of Phoenix Movie? and What do you mean that Robert Hardy(Cornelius Fudge), Emma Thompson(Sybill Trelawney), Michael Gambon(Albus Dumbledore) etc are seems enthutiastic to return? It is in differenced between Movie and book(Order of Phoenix). Ahh, Are there any differences in movie for Philosopher's Stone, Chamber of Secret, and Prisoner of Azkaban? Perhaps, They did not make big mistake when they were filming the Philosopher's Stone, Chamber of Secret, and Prisoner of Azkaban Movie..... Its my own opinion. So, Do you think that are there any differences in Harry Potter movie(Philosopher's Stone, Chamber of Secret, Prisoner of Azkaban)? I know that you are still working on the articleDifferences in Harry Potter Movie such as Gobler of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, Half-blood Prince"...... Daniel5127, 02:24, 29 April 2006(UTC)
HBP Edits- I don't think so
If someone has not made any major decisions yet there not enthusiastic and there not not going to return. Daniel should be labeled Not made any major decisions yet even though he says he would loves to do the cave scene. And why not make it enthusiastic (if we go along your way), would love do the cave scene instead? ForestH2 (discuss | contribs)

Fletcher
On the Order of the Phoenix Cast Page why delete the citation? I understand about Emma Thompson that the time was wrong however if you want to get rid of that citation why not get rid of the old citations? Best Regards, ForestH2
Old Citations are like from December, January 2005, 2006. The Fletcher one was from February, 2006. Best Regards, ForestH2
Thompson
Check back on the OOTP talk page. I responded to your message. A quick entry here...The extra says or something like it Emma Thompson is returning and I think we should keep her in confirmed. ForestH2
That is how I did it
I looked at my user page. This is how I created the reference.. Still got To many Invalid Keys and Wrong Keys or something like that. Can't remember what exactly it said. ForestH2

Notice, they've added Mark Williams....Warwick Davis........some real ones, such as Tony Maudsley as Grawp. Some other ones two at the bottom of the page. ForestH2
Sure- I can help a little
I don't know how much time I'll have this weekend to be on Wikipdeia, but for now I can help you with something. What alteration should I start on? I think I'll start with Draco Malfoy, unless you think I should do otherwise. Emily (Funtrivia Freak) 18:46, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Differences between Book and Film Verisons by OOTP
You write in your edit summary, that it was not postive that Henry Llyod-Hughes was not going to return. I understand that part. But then I notice that you change it to say "Will be Cut or Recast" Isn't that sort of saying "It's postive he won't return?" ForestH2 (discuss | contribs)

HBP Differences
Fbv65edel/Archive 1, I noticed you were keeping the differences for the Half Blood Prince film, and I wanted to know she would we delete the actors who are now in the "Expressed Interest in Returning" on the actul Half Blood Prince page such as Neville Longbottom as Matthew Lewis who is still in Possible Repisals? And as above Chris did provide edit summaries. He needed to provide the correct edit summaries instead of an edit summary calling people names etc. ForestH2 (discuss | contribs)
It looks good...ForestH2 (discuss | contribs)
And I have tried to best to add the characters on to the Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (film) page. The characters-that are not on there. As we have discussed about speculation, this is not speculation so we should do this. If you see any other characters on your list please add them to the HBP Page. ForestH2 (discuss | contribs)

Second Wizarding War
I don't care about if I put 'Hermione Jane Granger' instead of merely Hermione Granger, or if I capitalize the 'of the' in the Order Of The Phoenix, it's how I write! And putting middle names are not superfluous, you never know what dumb@#$%&* are just looking at these because they're just too lazy too read the books, I give as much info. as I can, and I'm sure that it doesn't kill people to read a few extra words. Finally, Professor Albus Percivial Wulfric Brian Dumbledore does not fall under the catagory of factually incorrect, it would, if anything, fall under superfluous. And the official name of the two abattles are the Battle Of The Department Of Mysteries and the Battle Of The Tower; how can you have the H.P.L. as a link and not know this?
First War
Ooops - I read the tag backwards - thought it said that the article didn't contain any links - which it does. Instead I'll try to think about what should be linking to it, and put those links in. Thanks for letting me know about my mistake!
Richardson not back
I changed the citation for Miranda Richardson as to not returning however I wanted to ask you-does that citation tell us anything or do we leave it the same? It's an obvious source so.....Maybe we should take from that.all though no news if her character's been cut. ForestH2
See the source. She says Skeeter won't return. The source is on the OOTP Differences page. Who knows what she knows...I mean she's not the producer. ForestH2
Actully, that source is from quite a while ago as I mentioned a month ago on the Talk: Order of the Phoenix (film) page. So I don't know what to think....One is from December 15, 2005 and the other is unknown when it appeared however one can presume that my source appeared after the source that you said..ForestH2
O.K, go ahead for the Differences between book and film verisons to leave her in not returning, but say she will be recast for the momment.--ForestH2
Looks fine-added couple words.--ForestH2
FoxEarth
I had to talk to Foxearth because he is the IP adress who is deleting the characters on OOP Differences. --ForestH2
Richardson
That's good...However the Fan Zone source was written after the other source. Though...I'd try to stay away from the word "later" ForestH2
- Just stay away from the word later. ForestH2
I'll drop the subject with Foxearth but until he decides to not delete the characters on OOTP Differences he'll get the needed vandalisim warning. ForestH2
- Looks good. I might have a go with changing a little something around. But otherwise it's fine. --ForestH2
- Note that David Heyman confirmed the Dementor Scene. Same source as Lockhart
Where is he?
Was it (I've forgotten) Deathphoenix or Evilphoenix who was invobled in the Harry Potter Wikiproject who protected the OOTP and HBP film pages? I haven't seen him for a while-last I checked he was going on wikibreak to be back on April 1st. Do you know where he is? Or his e-mail adress? ForestH2
Do you know where his e-mail adress is? Maybe we could contact him.....The think is when I click E-mail this user, I get a funny window. ForestH2
- I think until he returns, that his talk page, should be semi-protected. That note he left there was horrible. ForestH2
