HP fandom
I know you moved the section about the theme park because someone complained it did not belong in 'fandom', but i'm not convinced that was correct. exactly what sort of people go to such a place if not fans? Sandpiper 01:17, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Edel, you've gotta help us
This is what Libertycookies just posted on JK Rowling's page:
"The Rebellion Begins" poster for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Commentators have suggested that the Harry Potter books and movies encourage dissent and rebellion against authority by youth."
This is not a joke; he honestly believes this. He has been posting his own outlandish ideas all across the Harry Potter section of this site. With his unfounded accusations against JK Rowling, I can't imagine he hasn't crossed the line. I've emailed three admins to try and get help on this, but no one's responded. I can't do this by myself and quite frankly I'm tired. I've been battling this for over a week without any help from administrators and I really would appreciate it if someone other than me decided to stand up for Wikipedia's supposed integrity. Serendipodous 16:10, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- Nice reply, Edel. Very civil. Very rational. I should warn you in advance, however, that it won't work. Serendipodous 18:03, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

Fair enough
But somebody has to do it. I've been doing this by myself for over a month now, with little help from anyone, and I really don't want to do this anymore. I hate having to do this alone; it makes me look like a fascist. I would appreciate help from someone (anyone!) in this; quite frankly I am astonished at the laxity the admins have desplayed as regards this guy's edits.Serendipodous 23:38, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- I don't care. He's free to edit his userpage any way he likes; he just can't do that to public discussion pages. Serendipodous 23:47, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
I've taken JK Rowling off my watchlist. I've gone to great lengths to bring Liberty's abuses to general attention, to a chorus of indifference. I can no longer edit that article. Serendipodous 08:47, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Warrington - Harry Potter Film
Regarding Warrington in the new Harry Potter film; Ashley Hull was indeed cast in this role. No references on google because he is new actor; no references to Warrington being cast because it is a minor role - however is role that is referenced in the film, thus should be included in the cast.
Please inform me of what "evidence" you would require?
Ok thanks for replying!
Entering the magical world of Harry Potter editing...
I'm just starting out, and I've decided to begin by helping out on the Hogwarts page. I did an 'intro' edit where I tried to tighten it up but it clearly needs more work. First on my list is doing references. I wanted to ask you though, if I should join the HP 'squad' and also if there any unusual ref. conventions for HP that I should be aware of? Thanks so much for your time! --Gingersnap Cookies 03:47, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for responding!
I'll read that over and get on editing the Hogwarts article. Thanks for responding so quickly! You rock! --Gingersnap Cookies 03:03, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Fan petition
I would argue that since the fan petition was started in response to Yates' statements, and the film is in development, as opposed to a completed film, it is notable.
Verifiability versus truth
I think we differ in our assessment of verifiability. Yahoo Movies give a comprehensive list of the complete crew involved in the film Order of the Phoenix. Their site is not edited by individual contributors as far as I know. Please correct me if I'm wrong. If they can list the names of all crew-memebers, why would the voice-actor of Kreacher be seen as not verifiable? Only because it is not an official source? AberforthD 01:28, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the explanations Edel. I can see your point. And as you rightfully say, the problem will be solved in 4 days anyway. However, I think that your being "nitpicky" as you call it yourself has more general implications beyond this article. We had a similar issue for the Brittish edition of the book "Deathly Hallows" where the page count of 608 rose suspicion because it is exactly the same as the previous book "Order of the Phoenix". People thought it was a copy/paste error by the book sellers (most notably amazon.co.uk) and the editor Bloomsbury never issued an official pagecount, unless we have to believe second hand information from people who say they have confirmed with Bloomsbury. So it was decided for that article to say the book is EXPECTED to be 608 pages. The policy you follow at the moment doesn't mention anything at all, even though there are indications the information might be correct. Why can't Kreacher be listed as a non-human character while stating that the voice actor is EXPECTED to be this or that person? AberforthD 02:08, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Provide verifiable source to verify your claim, it doesn't get any clearer. Matthew 01:58, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
- What is being discussed here? The country of origin for the infobox, or the MOS on the use of english? I thought it was clear that the writing should be in British english, but that the infobox should say both US and UK as the origin of the film since the major producer of this film is an American company. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 02:32, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
- It's the same argument as before. What makes it part of which country. It has lots of ties to the UK, but the primary source of it's money is from America. Does one look at where the money for the films comes from, or where the books come from. If one looks at the source of the film, which are the books, then it would make the film british. If that was the case, would that make The Ring actually a Japanese film, since it is a remake of a Japanese film? BIGNOLE (Contact me) 02:57, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

The one about Padma Patil was very valid so I'm not sure why you undid that.

My thing is that a giant list isn't really helpful. IMDb does that, but we are not IMDb, we are encyclopedia. Same thing applies to most of the Potter film articles. They should really stand alone from book or character articles. Alientraveller 09:33, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

I got this from the Wikipedia article on Michael Corner. Looking back at the article, I see a request for a citation now in place that was not there before. I have no idea where it came from. Thanks! Frickeg 02:26, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
