◊PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•A•C) This message was left at 00:10, 8 September 2020 (UTC)AfC notification: Draft:Nicky O'Daniel has a new comment
were it not
that your comments were made on a talk page where the editor had traditionally permitted great latitude, and one where he prefers to deal with transgressions himself, and despite the great sympathy and support I have shown over the years with some of your positions and articles, and the help that I think I have given you and will continue to give you, for increasing their quality, I would indeed give you a block . I really expected better judgement. DGG ( talk ) 03:56, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

DGG ( talk ) 06:19, 7 September 2020 (UTC)A few words:
- User:Dan arndt was correct in declining this submission: when it was declined, it had no sources indicating any notability
- Your post at Jimbo's talk page should have been useless and ignored[1]. You have played the race card before, without reason and without success, and you should really drop this angle.
- You were lucky that DGG accepted the article, as it was still extremely borderline as it stood.
- I removed a completely misinterpreted claim plus source from the article (now twice): the policies of one particular cinema (that they have a balcony where whites are welcome) is interesting for that cinema, racial politics in the US, whatever, but not for this movie, as that balcony is not something specific for this movie but applies to all movies in that cinema.
- Finally, you could have spared yourself a lot of trouble if you had inserted better sources from the start. I added a scholarly book which discusses this movie, the music and artists, for 20 pages. With this added, there wuold never have been a discussion about notability or a need to run to mommy to complain about racism and declined articles. IF yu want articles to get accepted, or if you want to get out of AfC and create articles in the mainspace directly again, you just will need to improve your work. Fram (talk) 12:33, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
- The subject is clearly notable, meets several of the film criteria, and should not have been declined twice by the same editor. Thanks for adding a source in a new further reading section. Using it as an in-line citation would be even better. Wikipedia is a collaborative enterprise so we work together improving articles. It is not on any one editor to finish them. It's embarassing how difficult it is to get articles like this one into mainspace and that it's taken so long. We need to do better as a community. FloridaArmy (talk) 12:42, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
- No, it is not hard at all to get articles like this into mainspace. You just have to use sources that show notability, not newspaper adverts, locations of the film poster, ... Only when there are no good online sources available and you have to resort to offline ones does it become harder, but this isn't needed here at all. Apart from the source I added, you could have used this as well, or this. Making it clearer that this was Ruby Dee's first role wouldn't go amiss either. Fram (talk) 13:01, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
- I included a book source cited and excepted extensively by the Library of Congress in its entry on the film and a New York Times article noting the film as part of a significant genre many decades after its release. The cited content also notes that soundies made from the film were released. The cited content also notes the roles by numerous important actors and musicians. Clearly notable. Awful rejections made twice by the same editor. Not interested in discussing further. Please find something useful to do and don't post here again. FloridaArmy (talk) 13:06, 7 September 2020 (UTC)

- I do not feel my acceptance was a matter of "luck"; the purpose of afc is to predict whether the draft will pass afd, and from previous experience over the years with the editors articles, I am confident that it is likely to be sourced well enough thati t will be accepted. It is however true that I am prepared to be somewhat flexible with subjects under-represented in the literature, and have been trying to defend them for my 13 years here. (Where I am less tolerant, is subjects for which there are available myriad sources that are all essentially hype or promotionalism ) FA, I sincerely feel that ((U|Fram}} is not only trying to be helpful, but is indeed being helpful--despite rather frequent disagreements, I would always be glad to receive their comments on anything I was doing. Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Million Dollar Productions
A tag has been placed on Draft:Million Dollar Productions requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
The page Million Dollar Productions redirects to Ralph Cooper
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. - Howard Simon Mwikuta was a kicker in the NFL. He had a short career with the Dallas Cowboys playing in the pre-season. He was the first NFL player born in Africa. He went to Morris Brown College.[1][2] He also played for the Dallas Tornado in the North American Soccer League.[3] He was born in Zambia.[3]
- Wilkie Moody was born in Africa and played for the league that preceeded the NFL.

davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 02:11, 29 September 2020 (UTC)Consider bypassing AFC for "clearly notable" people
There's a general rule of thumb that if someone has won an election to a state legislature in the United States, they pass WP:Notability. I won't say that EVERY person who EVER won election to a state legislature would pass WP:N but if there are any exceptions, they are few and far between.
So, when creating politician-stubs of people who either served in or won election to a state legislature, go ahead and bypass AFC unless you have a good reason not to. "A good reason not to" would include "I feel more comfortable having someone review it" or "other editors have asked me to use AFC in the past" or just about any other reason. However, to the extent that you can bypass AFC for "no brainers" like William H. Mishaw, it will allow AFC reviewers to spend time on more difficult submissions.
Whether or not you choose to bypass AFC, I want to thank you for your continued valuable contributions to the project. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 02:20, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks User:davidwr, but unfortunately I have an editing restriction for creating too many articles and saving too many others at AfD. FloridaArmy (talk) 02:26, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
