ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. Proxy block?

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

FlyingAce (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is 190.104.112.213. Not using a VPN or anything – it's my home WiFi. –FlyingAce✈hello 15:57, 17 June 2022 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Closing as resolved. 331dot (talk) 22:22, 18 June 2022 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

FlyingAce✈hello 15:57, 17 June 2022 (UTC)

Okay, I disconnected the wifi and can edit just fine with the phone's data plan. Not sure if I should leave the unblock request so the proxy block on my home IP is reviewed, though. –FlyingAce✈hello 16:07, 17 June 2022 (UTC)
You may have picked up a P2P VPN from another WiFi, have you cleared your browser cache? 331dot (talk) 09:40, 18 June 2022 (UTC)
@331dot: I just tried it but the issue persists. Out of curiosity I checked the IP on my desktop computer (connected to the same router via ethernet cable) and it shows the same IP address and block message. Oddly enough, connecting my computer to my job's VPN solves the issue there  . Not a big deal either way – as long as it's just the IP and not my account that is blocked, I can use my mobile data plan. –FlyingAce✈hello 18:32, 18 June 2022 (UTC)

Precious

Latin American encouragement

Thank you for quality articles such as Avenida Reforma, Elisa Molina de Stahl and Yolanda Fernández de Cofiño, for fighting vandalism an a large scale, for serving other Wikipedias, especially in Spanish, for encouraging an editor, for a starry dreamy image on your user page, - you are an awesome Wikipedian!

You are recipient no. 2769 of Precious, a prize of QAI. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:22, 14 October 2022 (UTC)

Charles M. Shultz

Why would you revert a good edit, and in the same comment say it probably goes in that section anyway? There's a reason I added it, because the information was in a section it didn't belong, so I didn't see it. Also, it's bad form to click "revert" on a good edit, and therefore tag someone's contributions as being reverted. Simply remove it. Bastique ☎ call me! 05:28, 28 November 2022 (UTC)

@Bastique: my apologies, I was going to move the information myself once I had a chance to sit down at the computer (which hasn't happened yet, unfortunately). Having said that, I explicitly did not use rollback on your edit; I used undo precisely because I wanted to leave an explanation in the edit summary. Not sure why it was tagged as a revert – I even avoided using Twinkle. –FlyingAce✈hello 05:42, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
No problem. I think "undo" tags the edit as being "reverted" as well. --Bastique ☎ call me! 05:47, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
