License tagging for Image:7-20 001.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:7-20 001.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:04, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
Take a look at the article history. There are a LOT of tidbits that have been changed oh-so-slightly to reflect more poorly on the agency and obfuscate its rail plans. I'm seeing this a lot in Wikipedia lately -- instead of inserting wholesale attacks (which get removed for blatant POV), vandals with an agenda change the wording very slightly, using multiple small edits, and try to fly under the anti-vandal radar. You should see the trouble I'm having with the Tulsa Race Riot article!
You've got most of the substantial edits, so I'll let you decide what repairs, if any, may be appropriate. --Robertb-dc 17:53, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- Also, the way you sign posts in a talk page is --~~~~, not ----~~. Computers are teh stup1d; they only do what you tell them to do, not what you obviously meant! :) --Robertb-dc 18:26, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Uptown Dallas
editHello. Uptown Dallas is a well-defined geographic PID (public improvement district) in the city of Dallas. North Dallas High School is north of Blackburn Street (the northern boundary of Uptown), Victory Park is well west of Uptown, and so is the Azure. The boundaries are clearly defined in the lead of the Uptown Dallas article. It is a common misconception though. The name "Uptown" has become so attractive that is often loosely associated with anything north of downtown and south of the Park Cities. Cheers! -- drumguy8800 C T 21:03, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
Image tagging for Image:1700 Pacific.JPG
editThanks for uploading Image:1700 Pacific.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Dallas buildings
editHello, and thank you for taking an interest on the List of tallest buildings and structures in Dallas page. If you can find a reference for the fact that the Praetorin Tower was taller than Southside on Lamar, that would be great. I do not doubt that your information is correct; I based the current list on a SkyscraperPage diagram, which often have errors. However, the table would simply need a refrrence giving the exact height. Emporis could probably be used; I would happy to add it myself if you can give me a citation (As you probably guessed, I do not know much about Dallas buildings with the exception of the city's taller skyscrapers :) ). And for the Republic Tower I, it is actually correct the way it is but only because the tall spire of Republic Tower I is included. Many sources do not count this, but Emporis and SkyscraperPage, on which this list is based, do. Therefore, the Adams Mark Center Tower and Republic II never stood as the tallest, as they did not surpass Republic I's spire. Cheers! Rai-me 11:03, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for finding that reference; it is great, and I will update the page soon. And thanks for the compliments about the page! I just have to create articles for all of the redlinked buildings, and then I will hopefully be able to nominate it at WP:FLC. As for the pinnacle height, there is actually a difference between pinnacle top and architectural top. The Sears Tower's antenna masts are not considered to be "architectural details," and are therefore not included in the building's official height. However, Republic I's spire is included in its official height, as it is considered an architectural detail. Therefore, Republic I is officially taller than Republic II and the Adam Mark Center Tower. Cheers! Rai-me 15:51, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
DART
editHi, I noticed your contributions to DART. The Light rail in North America has a section dedicated to Dallas's light rail system but it is not written. What's needed is a 1-2 paragraph summary of the whole light rail system if you'd like to write it. Cheers.--Loodog (talk) 00:08, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Summary description of Lincoln Plaza Image
editHi, I'm new to being a Wikipedian, so this post might not fit the usual form. However, I'm very interested in skyscrapers, especially those in Dallas, as I am a native-born Dallasite. I've also worked in Downtown Dallas since 1990, and have explored the geography, the tunnels, and as many of the taller buildings as I could. I don't like to be critical, but I feel it necessary to point out factual errors in published media when I discover them. Which brings me to my point.
The Summary of the building image file included in the Lincoln Plaza entry states that the picture was "taken from nearby Thanksgiving Tower". However, based on my knowledge of the geography of Downtown Dallas, which can be verified by any of the major online mapping sites, especially by revieiwing the satellite or aerial photos, that is impossible. Trammell Crow Center, at 2001 Ross Ave, between N Harwood & Olive streets, can be seen in the background and just to right of Lincoln Plaza, at 500 N Akard st, at approximately 10 degrees or so off-center. Looking at Lincoln Plaza from Thanksgiving Tower, at 1601 Elm Street, Trammell Crow Center appears on the map to be approximately 50 to 60 degrees to the right of Lincoln Plaza, which would place it completely out of the picture. Furthermore, Energy Plaza lies in a direct line of sight between Thanksgiving Tower and Lincoln Plaza, which is not as tall as Energy Plaza. This would make it impossible to see LP from there.
In reviewing the maps and aerial photographs, it appears to me (imho) that this photo must have been taken from another tall building, most likely Elm Place, or possibly Renaissance Tower. Thanks for accepting this correction in the spirit it is submitted - a desire for accuracy in published information! BruciferTX (talk) 13:36, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Old Irving Station
editI just found more on the old station in Irving, Texas. Acoording to the Dynamic Depot Maps website, the old Irving Station was an MKT station. Here's the picture they show. I take it Katy bought the CRI&G at some point. ----DanTD (talk) 13:49, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Clay Gould Ballpark.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Clay Gould Ballpark.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 18:46, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
- You'll need to follow the directions in the above note to have the copyright holder send their release of the image to Wikipedia's permissions team. In particular, permission to use an image on Wikipedia isn't strong enough, as many rightsholders do not often realize how many other outlets use Wikipedia's free content. (ESkog)(Talk) 18:36, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
- If you didn't create the image yourself, you'll need to have whoever owns the copyright send an e-mail from their official address to permissions-en@wikimedia.org indicating that they own the image and that they intend to publish it under a free license (such as Creative Commons). A good sample of what such a letter might contain can be found at WP:CONSENT. (ESkog)(Talk) 18:43, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for June 4
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Maverick Stadium, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Texas Rangers (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

UT Arlington Mavericks women's basketball
editTo FoUTASportscaster and Pvmoutside I added a roster to UT Arlington Mavericks women's basketball
However (at least) one player must be a walk-on. I looked at all the bios, and did not see which one(s). Can you help?
If you know and want to add it to the article, add "|note=W" to the template for the player. If that isn't clear, let me know and I'll do it.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 15:55, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

Warning
editRepeated moving of Texas–Arlington athletics pages will get you blocked. The consensus on Wikipedia is that these articles are going by "Texas–Arlington Mavericks", not "UT Arlington" despite what the school wants to be called. You also have a clear conflict of interest in the matter and I would stop trying to unilaterally go against consensus if I were you. Unless the consensus changes, this will be a battle you will not win. Thank you. Jrcla2 (talk) 20:32, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
