Hi there - Wikipedia relies on reliable sources to verify information, especially about living people. You didn't provide a source for your changes to the Antonio Rojano article, and I couldn't find one either. If you have a reliable source please let me know and we can change the article. Please let me know if you have any questions. GiantSnowman 11:12, 30 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please remember this. All changes need to be sourced. Nehme1499 15:55, 19 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Transfers and transfer windows

edit

Hi. In Greece – and quite a few other countries – the summer transfer window opens on 1 July. Turkey's transfer window open on 17 June. That means transfers announced now won't come into effect until then. Similarly, contracts usually run until 30 June. That means Ahmed Hassan (footballer, born 1993)‎ will not return from loan until then and our article should reflect that. That is why I have reverted the changes you made there. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 07:58, 31 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Gervinho, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 16:41, 16 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, you may be blocked from editing. Snowflake91 (talk) 09:11, 29 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced or poorly sourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Nouha Dicko. GiantSnowman 18:00, 3 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Transfer is confirmed by Transfermarkt and OFI Football club. Next time be quicker and make the changes as it should be. Footballrelated (talk) 18:47, 3 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Footballrelated, the WP:Burden of supplying a reference is on the person adding or changing content. In this case that was clearly you. Robby.is.on (talk) 20:44, 3 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Lorry Gundersen. I noticed that you changed content in an article, Bernard (footballer), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you, Lorry Gundersen (talk) 18:51, 21 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

It's official. I hope you make the changes Footballrelated (talk) 19:30, 21 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Manuel da Costa (footballer, born 1986), without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Egghead06 (talk) 17:43, 27 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

OK. Visit Transfermarkt and make the changes by yourself Footballrelated (talk) 17:52, 27 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Transfermarkt is NOT a reliable source for anything (WP:TRANSFERMARKT), stop adding transfers before they are officially announced by the club itself. Snowflake91 (talk) 19:08, 31 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Almost entirely my edits are about updating apps and goals on footballers pages. THEY DON'T need references for this. Stop acting like I'm the founder of WikiLeaks. Try to be more judgmental about LITERAL vandalism. I stick to apps & goals updating Footballrelated (talk) 08:29, 3 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

I've made almost 8.000 edits and you're arguing about 2-3 (unsourced). Even tho, these 2-3 were still correct, even unsourced. I'm here to discuss anything you like, democratically.. Footballrelated (talk) 08:35, 3 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

(Non-administrator comment) Wikipedia is not a democracy. The burden is on the editor to supply reliable sources for new content, and the content's truthfulness is not the issue. —Matuko (talk) 17:26, 5 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

@DatGuy: - he is back and still adding unsourced content to BLPs... GiantSnowman 18:03, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Does anybody provides sources when updating apps and goals? Wikipedia is not a place where you rule with an iron fist. Footballrelated (talk) 20:21, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

We cannot update caps without sources. If we don't have sources that support our changes, we cannot make them. That's Wikipedia 101. Robby.is.on (talk) 21:13, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

It's impossible to find sources for every single cap a player makes. If it is about a transfer I agree Footballrelated (talk) 21:23, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Transfermarkt is the only place, pretty reliable, we can find caps and goals updates. I cannot put references from transfermarkt on every single cap Footballrelated (talk) 21:25, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Whether you agree or not, it's Wikipedia policy and you need to follow it. Transfermarkt is not considered a reliable source here. Robby.is.on (talk) 21:28, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

I agree but let me get this straight: Do you believe that any editor put references in every single new cap of every footballer on every single new match he plays? Footballrelated (talk) 21:39, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Caps updates made to player articles need to be supported by sources in the article. I don't know whether every editor follows that rule but I would expect them to. Many of those that have repeatedly made unsourced changes have been blocked. Robby.is.on (talk) 21:43, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

OK fine, thanks for answering Footballrelated (talk) 21:44, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

You're welcome. One little addition: Of course, I too like to try and fill out the infobox of a player as much as I can. But I feel that it's not the end of the world if I am unable to put a piece of information in. Robby.is.on (talk) 22:26, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

I see. OK thanks and sorry for wasting your time. Other administrators are not so patient Footballrelated (talk) 22:30, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi, this is SteliosGR. Why do you keep reverting this edit? I explained that the reason why I changed it, was because both AEK and Aris won in the first game 3-0, therefore I picked the teams alphabetically (as they appear in the table at the start of the league, when no matches have been played). Please refrain from changing this again without explaining a proper reason. SteliosGR (talk) 01:41, 10 October 2022 (UTC+3)

Are you sure that you arguing with the right person? I never made this change Footballrelated (talk) 06:02, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

You are right. The edits were made by a weird IP address (User talk:91.140.5.174) with a lot of weird wrong Greek elections results in their page. My apologies. SteliosGR (talk) 03:45, 11 October 2022 (UTC+3)

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 3 months for persistently adding unsourced or poorly sourced content. Verifiability is a core Wikipedia policy. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.

I may be the only one who keeps updating caps and goals in Greek football pages. Thousands of edits can prove it. I find my block from a proper individual "GiantSnowman" unacceptable as he runs some pages like he has copyrights on them. Especially he got upset over an edit about the height of a specific footballer (which was the right one as HE HIMSELF confirmed later. 9/10 pages have no reference over the subject's height and you strongly disagree on putting Transfermarkt as a source. I apologize for the mess and I ask for the unblock Footballrelated (talk) 20:11, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

The need for sourcing has been explained to you above, and you've been blocked twice before for unsourced content. You will not be unblocked unless you can demonstrate that you will provide sources for your updates. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 23:45, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

I will provide sources for my updates. It was just a mistake. I have thousands of edits and none of them was an act of vandalism. A three months block for a minor mistake is wrong. Please, I ask for my unblock and I will act as expected, adding sources. Footballrelated (talk) 10:14, 3 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Disgusting attitude. Authoritarian. You allow vandals, which multiple times I asked for being blocked but yet Giantsnowman keeps acting like a Soviet leader. Thanks for not even hearing what I have to say. Footballrelated (talk) 11:55, 5 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

I asked many times to be unblocked because I have made THOUSANDS of edits and none or them was an act of vandalism and yet you don't even answer. I'll end up blocked permanently now that you've called your buddy snowman. Whatever, authoritarian habitat. Footballrelated (talk) 08:07, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Footballrelated, your Talk page is full of warnings and other attempts of helping you edit in line with Wikipedia policies. You continued to make unsourced and other disruptive changes. You were blocked twice for short periods. It was just a mistake. If you had made just "one mistake" you would never have been blocked even once.
I may be the only one who keeps updating caps and goals in Greek football pages. Thousands of edits can prove it. The block does not mean all your work here is worthless and that others are free of fault. It means that you violated Wikipedia policies too often.
Three months is not a very long time. Wait it out, reflect on your editing, don't sockpuppet – that will likely get you blocked indefinitely – and then return to editing. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 09:02, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
