AfroCine: The Months of African Cinema Continues….
editGreetings!
Thank you very much for signing up to participate in the Months of African Cinema global contest/edit-a-thon, and thank you for your contributions so far.
It is already the middle of the contest and a lot have been achieved already! We have been able to get over 200 articles created in over seven (7) languages! The figures soars to up to a thousand, if Wikidata entries are included. Furthermore, there have been about 5 in-person gatherings of Wikipedians in different countries across the world to create articles about African(a) cinema!
We are very excited about what has been achieved so far, but your contributions are still needed to further exceed all expectations! Let’s create more articles before the end of this contest, which is this November!!!
- Article suggestions can be found here. You can also add to this list.
- Some notable reliable sources for African cinema can be found here. Again, this list needs expansion.
- Interested in Wikidata translation? check out the Occupation Drive, which is being led by Wiki Loves Women, in support of the contest and the project!
- Please remember to list articles you have created or improved in the Article Achievements section of the contest page, so that they can be easily tracked.
Thank you once again for being part of this global event!
Kind regards.--Jamie Tubers (talk) 22:50, 10 November 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of N8tive Food and Beverage Bar
editHello Fquasie,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged N8tive Food and Beverage Bar for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Disambiguation link notification for March 27
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Angèle Makombo, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Congo. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:03, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
Gladys Maasdorp moved to draftspace. No secondary sources to prove notability, potential claim though.
editAn article you recently created, Gladys Maasdorp, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Speedy deletion nomination of Fatoumata Ba
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Fatoumata Ba, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement of https://urbanwomanmag.com/profile-of-fatoumata-ba-senegalese-vc-and-entrepreneur/. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. CUPIDICAE💕 13:00, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

Over linking!!
editHello @Fquasie, I have noticed your contribution to Wikipedia articles, especially Ghanaian articles. However you approach is not the best. You are over linking the articles. Refer to Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Linking to learn more about linking. Kindly read it and avoid over linking the articles.
For example, Akua Sena Dansua, Every Germany you have added a link to Germany that is not necessary. You just need to link only one. Please read this Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Linking#Duplicate and repeat links. Do not just be over linking articles just to get your number of edits high. Avoid that.
Thank you. Ampimd (talk) 15:30, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
- OK, thank you for your message, Well noted to avoid over linking Fquasie (talk) 15:33, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
- On the other hand, underlinking is also discouraged, as it fails to properly tie persons and things into the encyclopedia. You removed multiple links from the article on Unity Dow, which is a reviewed GA. There were not duplicate links in the article. Redlinks are encouraged as they enable readers who are interested in a topic to expand our knowledge of notable people and things. As our coverage of Africa is particularly poor, redlinks become crucial, as they immediately turn blue and link to other articles as soon as the article on that topic is written. I reverted your removal of links in Dow's article. Please do not repeat the action. Thanks. SusunW (talk) 13:41, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you so much. Well noted on the redlinks to allow article to be created for wider knowledge. Fquasie (talk) 14:19, 2 April 2022 (UTC)

- You are still over-linking, as in your edits today to Fatou Lamin Faye where you linked England and Nigeria. Please stop linking well-known countries like this. See WP:OVERLINK, a specific section of the page you were previously advised to read. Continuing to do so starts to become disruptive editing and may lead to increasing warnings. The article Bibi Bright has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Shirt58 (talk) 11:33, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Bibi Bright
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Bibi Bright requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
Concern regarding Draft:Gladys Maasdorp (MBE Winner)
editHello, Fquasie. This is a bot-delivered message letting you know that Draft:Gladys Maasdorp (MBE Winner), a page you created, has not been edited in at least 5 months. Drafts that have not been edited for six months may be deleted, so if you wish to retain the page, please edit it again or request that it be moved to your userspace.
If the page has already been deleted, you can request it be undeleted so you can continue working on it.
Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia. FireflyBot (talk) 09:01, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
The article Angelina Ampofo Asomaning has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
biography of non-notable artist
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 09:00, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
Your draft article, Draft:Gladys Maasdorp (MBE Winner)
editHello, Fquasie. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Gladys Maasdorp".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 21:49, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
Blocked

. Graham87 15:34, 9 November 2022 (UTC)
Despite being adequately warned above and assurances that you would stop, you have continued your over-linking sprees. Such callous disregard of the community's concerns is completely unacceptable. Also, "Added a content" is not a grammatically correct edit summary; the fact that you've even thought to use it, especially for edits that add grammatical errors, proves that your English is nowhere near good enough to contribute here. Graham87 15:34, 9 November 2022 (UTC)
{{unblock|reason= I have made mistake even though I was carefully not to repeat it but I think it could be corrected on this issue of over-linking and grammatical error. I'm appealing for unblocked to continue my contribution to Wikipedia. ~~~~}}
. Fquasie (talk) 19:51, 9 November 2022 (UTC)- Making hundreds or thousands of edits that do the exact same thing that you've been told not to do is not being careful, it is being unbelievably reckless. Also, your unblock request is malformatted; if you can't follow basic instructions to format it properly, that raises even more questions about whether you have the capacity to edit here constructively. Not to mention the many warnings about copyright violations above. Graham87 01:38, 10 November 2022 (UTC)
Humble Appeal for Account Unblock
editHello @Graham87, I trust you are doing great? Close to two years ago, I breached some codes of editing on Wikipedia and I was blocked for it. During my time off Wikipeda, I decided to learn more on the ethics of Wikipedia. I reached out to my local community , Open Foundation West Africa to unlearn and learn a lot about the movement. With the help of Eugene Masiku(@Kaffzz) and @Pirate 064, I have been groomed well enough to not repeat my mistakes.
I humbly ask for another chance to contribute to Wikipedia accurately. I wish you consider and accept my request. Thank You Fquasie (talk) 17:20, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- Please follow the instructions in the block notice to request unblocking. Thanks -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 17:57, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
(block log • active blocks • global blocks • autoblocks • contribs • deleted contribs • abuse filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, you should read the guide to appealing blocks, then contact administrators by submitting a request to the Unblock Ticket Request System.
Please note that there could be appeals to the unblock ticket request system that have been declined leading to the post of this notice.
Graham87 (talk) 01:43, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
- I don't think unblocking you would benefit Wikipedia. The editors you listed above are not established editors in the Wikipedia community ... and the fact that you used the word "groomed" in the way you did above indicates that your English is still not good enough for this place; that word usually refers to either pet grooming (which is OK) or sexual grooming (which absolutely isn't). Please edit another language's Wikipedia addition. Graham87 (talk) 01:43, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
