If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Thekla Convent requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://stjohntheforerunnerblog.blogspot.com/2015/09/five-reasons-to-visit-monastery.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Welcome to Wikipedia

edit

Hello Fr Mark Sahady,

Welcome to Wikipedia. I see that you have written an article that is proposed for deletion. This can often be very frustrating for new editors, and I sympathize. One thing that you should know is that Wikipedia is much stricter about copyright than many other websites. As a general rule, we do not use any material which is copyrighted elsewhere, even if the copyright holder adds it here. This may seem strange, but Wikipedia is dedicated to providing freely available and reusable content to our readers, and most copyrighted content does not apply. In order to include copyrighted material, we must have formal written evidence that the content has been freely licensed under, for example, an acceptable Creative Commons license. There is a larger issue, though. An acceptable well-written Wikipedia article will summarize what reliable, independent sources have written about the topic. Independent means unaffiliated with the topic of the article. I am expressing no opinion at this time whether or not the topic of your article is notable and eligible for a Wikipedia artivle or not, as I have yet looked into it. But I do encourage you to read Your first article, which may give you a much better idea of how to write a halfway decent Wikipedia article. Please be aware that you can ask questions about editing Wikipedia at The Teahouse at any time, for a pretty quick response. If you want a more personalized response, ask at my talk page. I will answer as promptly as I can, but I am a volunteer with work and family obligations, so my response may not be rapid. I wish you well. Thank you. A tag has been placed on St. Thekla Convent (Glenville, Pennsylvania), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion".
