- Hello! Your submission of Template:Did you know nominations/Vatican Telephone Service is imperfect. After a quick look, I don't think that there was a 5X expansion. More importantly, I think that the Vatican Telephone Service article is way too short to qualify for a WP:DYK. As the DYK criteria state: "Articles must have a minimum of 1,500 characters of prose (ignoring infoboxes, categories, references, lists, and tables etc.) The number of characters may be measured using this script (most accurate) or this one or this tool." My measurement of the article is that it has 310 characters, well below the minimum. Both of these matters need to be addressed if you want this matter to be approved. I have called this to the attention of the nominator Fritzmann2002 on his talk page. Thank you. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 12:36, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
- User:7&6=thirteen Thank you for reviewing my nomination. I will do my best to expand the article to the required size. However, I'm not sure I understand the 5X expansion.
Fritzmann2002 14:45, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
- That may be hard to do. But if you get it to the required size, you would be pretty close to the 5X expansion anyway.
- FYI, Take a look at the WP:DYK Eligibility requirements regarding the 5X expansion of the number of characters, which is basically a before and after measurement of the prose text without the markup, infoboxes, categories, references, lists, and tables. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 14:51, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
- I also assuming that WP:QPQ doesn't apply to you, and that you have five or fewer DYKs. In any event, if it does, I can give you one. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 14:54, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
- User:7&6=thirteen Thank you a lot for your help, but I simply don't think there is enough info on the Vatican Telephone Service to expand it to 1500 characters. Do you know how to cancel the nomination?
- Put a comment on that it is "Withdrawn" and state the reason. Sorry that the sources won't support your ambition. Better luck next time! Keep up the good work. Cheers. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 12:34, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

I put in a review. It would help if you put your agreement/withdrawal on the nomination page. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 12:47, 1 October 2015 (UTC)
- User:7&6=thirteen Thank you again so much for your help with understanding DYKs. I will remember to review another article before I nominate another, and will make sure it has sufficient character count. Fritzmann2002 9:08 1 October 2015 (UTC)

Plant/animal differences
Hi Fritzmann, I just noticed you've branched out into butterflies from Hypericum. There are some differences between how scientific names are handled for plants and animals. For ranks below species, plants include rank in the name, but the rank is omitted for animals (so it should just be Sinopieris dubernardi bromkampi). This is because there are multiple ranks below species for plants (var., subsp., etc.), but only subspecies for animals.
The binomial authority is also formatted differently for plants and animals. In both kingdoms, if a species is moved to a genus other than the one in which it was originally described, the authority's name is placed in parentheses. So it's "Pieris dubernardi Oberthür, 1884" as originally described and "Sinopieris dubernardi (Oberthür, 1884)" after being moved to Sinopieris. The difference is that plants include the name of the person who transferred the species to a new genus or a different rank(e.g. "Hypericum boreale (Britton) E.P.Bicknell"), while animals omit the name of the transferer. However, animals always include the date of first description, which is omitted for plants. This stems from a difference in how the Principle of Priority is applied to plants and animals. You should be fine as long as you follow your sources exactly for parentheses and make sure to include the name after the parentheses for plants. Plantdrew (talk) 00:11, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks again Plantdrew for some very helpful information. I'll be sure to refer to this is the future and will do my best to follow those guidelines. I do have a question about sections of plant genera, and seeing as you're an accessible expert, I'll just ask it here. Hypericum is divided into 36 sections, from Adenosepalum to Webbia, and I don't know what to make of them. I have only found mention of them on Hypericum MySpecies and a few scientific research pdf files. Do they deserve articles? Should they be mentioned in species' articles (e.g. Hypericum afrum is a species in Hypericum, in the section Adenosepalum and the subsection Aethiopica)? And other related questions. Thanks for your help! Cheers, Fritzmann2002 13:26, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
- I wouldn't bother making articles for sections. They tend not to be very stable in general (every botanist who studies a genus may have their own scheme for splitting it up into sections). And there's usually very little to say about a section beyond which species are included in it.
- In particular for Hypericum, I see that a lot of the sections are sourced to a 1996 study, which doesn't appear to have used any DNA-based techniques for classification. As soon as somebody comes along and does a DNA-based study, Hypericum section classification will need to be changed (or perhaps abandoned entirely; DNA-based studies often group things in clades without creating rank-based names for the clades). And you may have noticed on the WikiProject Plants talk page that it appears Hypericum elodes perhaps should be treated as Elodes palustris (i.e., Hypericum sect. Tripentas should be treated as a separate genus, Elodes).
- Mentioning the section in an article about a species doesn't hurt, but I expect the classification will change in a few years as more DNA-based work is done. Plantdrew (talk) 21:02, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah, someone did bring up Hypericum elodes, and I believe that matter is sorted out now. Thanks, Fritzmann2002 13:21, 23 February 2016 (UTC)

Draft
Hello Fritzmann2002. The last time we spoke together you said to me that if i need something, i'll contacted you. Now i need your help. I dont now how to create a draft in order to work quietly on my articles. Can you show me the way how to create an draft. I would appreciated very much. Thank you and have a good day. -- Sadsadas, talk, 23 April 2016 20:18 (UTC)
- Sadsadas, thank you for asking me about this. There are multiple ways to create a draft. They are:
- Search Draft:{insert article name here} in the search bar. It will say the article doesn't exist and will prompt you to create it
- Create the article in your sandbox. From there you can ask to have it moved into the Draft or Article namespace
- Create the article in your sandbox and have it reviewed at Articles for Creation, which will rate it and either allow it to be made into an article or will give you input on what you can do to improve it
- I hope that answers your question. Fritzmann2002 12:28, 25 April 2016 (UTC)

DYK for Hypericum olympicum
On 9 July 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Hypericum olympicum, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Hypericum olympicum (pictured), an Award of Garden Merit winner, is toxic to dogs, cats, and horses? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Hypericum olympicum. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Hypericum olympicum), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Taxonomy templates
Hi, a couple of points to note:
- ranks are lower case in taxonomy templates (the system probably copes with capitalized values, but its complexity means it's hard to be sure)
- there's no need for taxonomy templates for species; use {{Speciesbox}} for the taxobox; it picks up the parent from the genus.

Image of Aakia available.
Hello,
I saw your page on the Aakia genus. I found an image of a specimen that is CC BY-NC (can be used for non-commercial use). Here is the link: click here.
NinjaWeeb (talk) 10:21, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Ninjaweeb: Thanks for the heads up! I uploaded the image to Commons and it should be on the article now. IF you have any questions about how to do that yourself, let me know and I can try to walk you through it. Thanks for your edits as well! Fritzmann2002 T, c, s, t 12:00, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Fritzmann2002: You're welcome. I have uploaded images on Wikimedia before. However, I am unsure on how to disprove copyright violations. Thanks for uploading the image by the way :)
- Ehhh... Sorry to disappoint guys, but you can't use that picture. It needs to be approved for commercial use to be allowed on Wikipedia. When you see "by NC", you can't use it. I often find free pictures at the GBIF, which gets them from iNaturalist (oops) and various herbariums. You can even put the setting so you only see the free pictures. You can also download plates at the Biodiversity Heritage Library, if the genus is old enough to have a 100-year old book with pictures. Cheers, Leo Breman (talk) 20:50, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
- I learned the NC thing the hard way myself! Leo Breman (talk) 20:52, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks @LeoBreman:, appreciate the oversight. I just used GBIF to upload a specimen picture (here) and would appreciate a quick look that this kind of picture from this source is safe to upload. If so, it looks like there are a lot of useful specimen pictures I may start to use more frequently. Thanks again, Fritzmann2002 T, c, s, t 14:43, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Fritzmann, I checked the copyright of the Abdra picture, it's perfect: CC by 4.0, no limitations. The picture stuff at GBIF is easy to use, and there some good photographers at iNaturalist (sorry, got mixed up) which are gracious enough to put their stuff on the web for free. Cheers!
