Notability has a specific meaning here. It does not mean lacking in merit, that the subject is unimportant, or is not valuable. It means that in order to warrant encyclopedic entry, a topic (in this case you), has to have been the subject of substantive treatment in reliable sources that are independent of the topic. Please see WIkipedia:Notability. The reason for this guideline is that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, a tertiary source, that properly only has articles on topics that have already been significantly published about—that the world has taken "note" of, and from which published material an article can be written with verifiable information. Thus, if a subject has not been sufficiently recognized by mainstream, reliable sources (books, magazines, etc.) by their publication of significant content about that subject, Wikipedia should not have an article about the subject.

In any event, the article on you was deleted at a deletion discussion which can be viewed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Graham Bowers. If the necessary reliable sources to sustain an article exist, they weren't in the article when it was deleted and were not found by those who discussed the content. Guidance for disputing tagging

Hi ___. If you are going to argue the site is notable, please explore the relevant standard, WP:WEB. Most websites with 1,000 members have not been the subject "multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the site itself," or any meet any other criteria for inclusion. Remember that notability has nothing to do with a judgment call here of whether we "think" the subject is notable, but whether sources out in the world have implicitly deemed it so by writing about it, giving it an award, etc., as verified through reliable sources.--

Prod

I came across a number of articles you took to afd for deletion while doing new pages patrol and I was wondering if you were familiar with the Proposed deletion process. Basically, you add {{subst:prod|reason for deletion}} to articles the deletion of which is not controversial, such as blatant advertizing, etc. Thereafter, if the prod template remains in the article for five days it is deleted without any debate. You probably know that you can link to other articles in this encylopedia by surrounding the name of an article with double brackets ([[article name]]) You can't link directly to most other wiki projects except with an external link. To make an external link just type the url like this: http://www.example.org. You can report a vandal at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. However, you should first warn the vandal with an appropriate series of warning messages. Before posting there, a final warning should have been given such as {{test3}}, {{test4}} or {{blatantvandal}}) and the vandal must have vandalized within the last few hours, including after the final warning was given him or her.--

Hi NAME. I noticed the great work you are doing tagging new articles—not something newcomers do often. We need all the help we can get (our floodgates are leaking badly). So welcome and keep up the good work. By the way, it's a good practice to leave edit summaries. You can just copy and paste the tags you are using into the edit summary field.

Also note that it is often appropriate to leave a message on a creating user's talk page when tagging. For instance, for articles tagged as db-bio/db-band/db-group, {{nn-warn}} or {{vanity}} are useful (all of these templates, unlike the db deletion templates, should be substituted and have parameters for the name of the article being referred to in the warning, so you would format them like so: {{subst:nn-warn|name of article}}--~~~~). For clear nonsense, attacks, hoaxes, mild vandalism you can use {{test1article-n}}, (which succeeds to {{test2article-n}} and so on).

For articles that you have prodded (done by placing the {{prod}}, template like this {{subst:prod|your rationale for why the article should be deleted}}; a very useful template for newpages patrol), you can add to the author's talk page {{prodwarning}}. You can explore various templates at Wikipedia:Template messages. I hope this unsolicited advice is not unwelcome. I noticed some tagging you were doing at new pages patrol. We need help so thanks! Just wanted to drop you a message about one issue. When you tag an article for speedy deletion, it really needs to fall into a specific speedy deletion criteria, which are listed at WP:CSD. There are a pretty short list of speedy deletion tags that are used often which tell you in their text the criteria they are used under (you can memorize them pretty quickly because their names tell you the criteria).

Here's a list of pretty much all of them: {{db-bio}}, {{db-group}}, {{db-web}}, {{db-nonsense}}, {{db-empty}}, {{db-nocontext}}, {{db-band}}, {{db-club}}, {{db-attack}}, {{db-repost}}, {{db-vandal}}, {{db-spam}}, {{db-copyvio|url=url of source}}, {{db-redirtypo}}, {{db-redirnone}}, {{db-blanked}} and {{db-talk}}. The article, F to C (or reverse) easy mental conversion may be a candidate for a nonsense tag or maybe a nocontext tag, but being trivial and not in need of an article, as you tagged it (which I agree with you about), aren't bases for speedy deletion. If nothing fits, the typical thing to do is to use a {{prod}} tag. If that is removed, or the deletion is controversial, the article can be listed at AFD. Cheers.

Hi ?????. Your good intentions are apparent. Let me tell you a bit about what is meant by "notable" as we use it for purposes of this encyclopedia. It does not refer to importance or fame or worth or whether we like the subject or not. It refers to whether the world at large has deemed a subject notable by making it the subject of multiple, non-trivial published works from sources that are reliable and independent of the subject itself. For more on notability, see Wikipedia:Notability. So my suggestion is that you attempt to find reliable sources which deal with this subject and cite them in the article. That is the best route to avoid deletion.

We strongly discourage people from creating articles about subjects they are closely associated with as this presents a conflict of interest, which normally guarantees that the article will not meet our neutral point of view policy.
