Looks like someone's done it. Mind fixing it up while I deal with other matters? Thanks--Taeyebaar (talk) 07:13, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
- Nice work. No you didn't break any rule. I'll work on the article to fix the links. Again, nice work.--Taeyebaar (talk) 19:04, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
- One last thing I think you need to swap some content between Anne Castles and Linda Siegel. Castles has criticized 'brain training' programs as cited; wheras Siegel has only criticized one program at least as far as sources are concerned. You may want to consider that.--Taeyebaar (talk) 19:38, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
Thanks Taeyebaar. I think the website that it is suggested I copied from actually copied an earlier version of the Wikipedia article I created, which was previously deleted as unnoteworthy. I am not sure how to address this sort of issue, but I have rewritten the article anyway and hope to publish it to Wikipedia again.Garyvines (talk) 14:31, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

Hi Garyvines, i have just added some categories to the above article, and some wikiprojects to the talkpage. Its great that the article has survived, but only just:) i've been thinking of other possibilities to make him more notable. Do you know whether he has ever received any sort of awards or official(government) thanks for his work? Also, the names of the sites he has researched that have become part of the national (or Victorian) estate (unfortunately i didn't note this when looking at pete evans' reports)? adding this sort of info would probably help. thanks Coolabahapple (talk) 06:51, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of KE Software
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on KE Software requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. noq (talk) 10:49, 20 September 2015 (UTC)

Gundagai
edit"Johneen Jones, JJones, and various other real and pseudonym names posts on Gundagai matters extensively - Apart from the spammers, this is the only completely banned poster to ozarch. The poster can get quite rude when challenged. The major themes are the conspiracy about denied aboriginal massacre sites, and the spiritual significance of the dog - apparently an ancient aboriginal lore. You will find posts on various forums, and especially feedback and comments on other blogs, news sites etc. the poster was also banned from Wikipedia for edit wars and abuse also on Gundagai topics. the Gundagai issue became more than just arguments in virtual space when the roads authority had to spend thousands more to investigate what were probably completely spurious claims of sacred sites etc."
? You silly thing. You accepted that link and image I sent yet you go on like that. Also, I was NOT the first person to note the Coolac Massacre in relation to the Coolac Bypass That was first mentioned and published by the first Archs (Nadin Officer whoever?), after they spoke with a Coolac longtime resident (Gary Churchin), so you are defaming me there and there is no need for that is there. Navin Officer published that Gary Churchin told them of the Massacre in one of the Road authority's publications but did not name their informant. I have a copy of that publication. The reality is that Gundagai is a significant Aboriginal Place as Jacki Taylor (RMS road authority - new name for that authority), archaeologist, also says so instead of bad mouthing me, why don't you explore the topic more. It was William Leigh an Aboriginal man now of Gundagai for many years who originated at Dubbo told me that it was Gary Churchin told Navin Officer about the massacre. I rang Gary Churchin at the time and he related the events of the massacre as he knew them, to me as told to him by a Foster, a very very old man who used to live over the road from Gary Churchin at Coolac, in a hut. If you do a north of Gundagai search on Trove, try Yasf (south of Yass), using the old form of writing double 's's'. Some arch efforts are really sad as is the behavior and lies. Ask too why the significant Aboriginal Place, i.e. Gundagai and its environs, raises so much political bile from some archs? I was going to have a normal burial here at Gundagai when I die but after experiencing the archaeology 'profession' and given the very high significance of Aboriginal Gundagai, I will now be cremated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.166.116.150 (talk) 09:49, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Nigel D. Oram.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Nigel D. Oram.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
ATTENTION: This is an automated, BOT-generated message. This bot DID NOT tag your file(s) for deletion, so if you would like to know who tagged the file(s), please refer to the page history for each individual file. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 16 March 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of OzArch
editThe article OzArch has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Electronic mailing list. No independent reliable sources. No indication of any notability. Does not meet WP:GNG or WP:WEB.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Randykitty (talk) 16:10, 27 July 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Garyvines/sandbox
editA tag has been placed on User:Garyvines/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either

- disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Speedy deletion nomination of Ducati Superquadro engine
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Ducati Superquadro engine requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.clymer.com/ducati-1199-panigale-superbike-motorcycle-video. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
Hi,
Apparently, very recently, this stone arrangement, on private land, has been badly damaged! As original creator of the page tiger I thought you would like to know.
I have added the source from the ABC to the article talk page for reference, but it's not an area I am experienced in editing.
See [2] or https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-04-05/lake-bolac-aboriginal-eel-shaped-rock-arrangement-destruction/100049446

Speedy deletion nomination of Geelong Historical Society
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Geelong Historical Society requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://simonfieldhouse.com/melbourne-architecture-icons/geelong-library-heritage-centre/.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Geelong Historical Society. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Thanks for creating Groups.io. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it needs more sources to establish notability. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ✠ SunDawn ✠ (contact) 07:43, 28 January 2023 (UTC)

Victoria categories
editCategory:Wikipedians in Victoria (Australia) was recently moved to Category:Wikipedians in Victoria (state) per a CFD discussion to rename Victoria-related categories, but that means that your User:Garyvines/EditCounterOptIn.js is now stranded in an empty redlinked category, because the edit limitations on it mean that most other editors can't just move it to the renamed category for you. Could you please edit that page to switch the category in line 11 to "state" instead of "Australia"? Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 12:49, 13 May 2023 (UTC)
August 2023
editHi Garyvines! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Orphaned non-free image File:Aerial view corinella.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Aerial view corinella.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:03, 16 January 2024 (UTC)
Your draft article, Draft:Groups.io
editHello, Garyvines. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Groups.io".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material, the draft has been deleted. Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 01:07, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
