St Blanes

edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the St Blanes Church article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.3 and later."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question at the "Help Desk". You can also leave a message on my talk page. Jonathan Oldenbuck (talk) 09:19, 8 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Alexander Bell Mitchell

edit

A tag has been placed on Alexander Bell Mitchell requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Speedy deletion of "Rev. Alexander Bell Mitchell"

edit

A page you created, Rev. Alexander Bell Mitchell, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how they are important or significant, and thus why they should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for biographies in particular.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

A Biography

A Notable Person

edit

{{helpme}} Hi, I am constructing a page about Rev. Alex Mitchell who is in my mind a well known figure in Dunblane, only last week he was interviewed by an American TV company to talk about Andy Murray, he plays a huge role in the local community but also plays a part in the Church of Scotland General Assembly. How do I stop his page from being deleted? Although the article is not perfect, I would like to improve it and see others add to it. --Gazab (talk) 09:49, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Well, you can improve the article (WP:YFA), but more importantly, on the talk page, talk specifically about how the Reverend meets the notability guidelines, with reference to reliable sources. - Jarry1250 [ humourousdiscuss ] 13:17, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
