You idiot, put the facts about Asin on her recent status

Why are you deleting when someone has posted it, is she your relative

Consider this a warning otherwise I will have to report. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 180.188.226.130 (talk) 19:32, 31 October 2010 (UTC) Reply

Proposed deletion of Surabhi (actress)

edit

The article Surabhi (actress) has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Ironholds (talk) 20:26, 17 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Johnnie Walker (film)

I notice that you reverted my link to IMDB, where the film entry clearly notes that it is spelled "Johnnie Walker". Please don't remove the IMDB link, and if you think the spelling is wrong, then please supply a reference supporting the edit. Thanks, Empty Buffer (talk) 22:42, 17 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Abbai Gari Pelli.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Abbai Gari Pelli.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:44, 18 July 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 04:44, 18 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Why?

edit

Hey Geocraze, may I please know why you are again and again (re-)creating this page "Successful movies in Kollywood" that is so redundant and really absolutely not needed here (and moreover is very subjective and biased as well!), especially that we have a more reliable, better structred and more neutral page called List of highest-grossing Tamil-language films? You're using wikipedia for advertisement and promotion, which I can surely understand, but which wikipedia unfortunately doesn't accept at all! (See here: WP:PROMOTION) I'm sorry, but you have to stop this as you may get blocked if you continue this. Wikipedia is not a place for such sites! Johannes003 (talk) 19:18, 19 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I know that this was how the List of highest-grossing Tamil-language films earlier looked like (I too edited there), but it had to get changed and be adapted to the other sites. And of course, there are obviously differences between both sites, but the site that you created is not apt for wikipedia as it very poorly sourced and looks more like a promotion site, you can't create such a page here. If at all, these kind of details may be added to the List of Tamil-language films for each year, like the best of 2008 in the Tamil films of 2008 page. From 2009, we have been including such information in the respective page. That's (possibly) the only way, how you might include such details in wikipedia. But remember, you have to be neutral and give sources for your claims. Johannes003 (talk) 08:52, 20 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

There's something you don't seem to understand...

Simply filling all fields in an image licensing template with the website/link to where you got it from does not constitute a license. You need to give some indication that you have been given permission by whoever created the file; files used here need to be free of copyright or must have been released for "re-use including commercial purposes". Otherwise, all of your efforts are in vain and the files will have to be deleted. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 00:41, 20 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Better source request for File:Singam.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Singam.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 20:18, 22 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hey Geocraze, please stop adding your opinions about how Vijay's films have done to his article. If you have reliable sources for all of it that would be fine but so far you haven't supplied any. Also you keep making the line read "Vijay went on to do his schooling in Balalok in Virugambakkam. Vijay went on to do his schooling in Balalok in Virugambakkam." Notice how it's the same sentence repeated. All I'm doing is deleting one of them. Finally, is there something wrong with having the note included about patrynomic names? You have changed $100k in 1940 to 20 lakh, $200k in 1944 to 30 lakh, $400k in 1954 to 50 lakh, $500k in 1958 to 75 lakh and $700k in 1965 to 1 crore. Where did you get these conversion rates? Is there any source? The rupee was devalued in 1966. Until then, it was exchanged for $ at 4.75. CuteRobin (talk) 18:24, 24 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hey, no mention! Till date, I thought you were the vandal, changing the figures, without having earlier checked the sources, I'm sorry dude! I can't find any sources that say it grossed 80 crores (which sounds really unrealistic!), all sources I found indeed say it grossed around 35 crores, if that is the truth, no doubt, I will support you, of course! Repost of List of highest-grossing Tamil-language films

edit

A tag has been placed on List of highest-grossing Tamil-language films requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, place the template {{hang on}} underneath the other template on the article and put a note on the page's discussion page saying why this article should stay. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Orphaned non-free image File:Singam.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Singam.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Asin at Genelia's Reception.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Asin at Genelia's Reception.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on 7aum Arivu. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. Sources for nett gross in India for Bollywood films

edit

BoxofficeIndia.com cannot be used as official reference(tracker) for Bollywood films nett collections in India. BoxofficeIndia is not updating its website on a regular basis ,so the reports og nett collections in India are reported very late on its website. Also, Wikipedia is not able to utilize lists of film grosses created by Box Office India, until permission is provided to the Wikimedia Foundation of permission by Box Office India. Respected critics such as Taran Adarsh and Komal Nahta are giving regualar and genuine nett collection figures in India for Bollywood films.Taran Adarsh has website www.bollywoodhungama.com and Komal Nahta has website www.koimoi.com We can also use OneIndia.com, The Times of India as sources it doesn’t means that a magazine like Hindustan Times or The hindu will not report genuine sources ,compared to a not so updated website of BoxofficeIndia.com BoxofficeIndia should be used only when other sources stop giving gross report.First bring a consensus on this nett gross issue. --Ghajinidetails (talk) 20:16, 21 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sources for worldwide gross and overseas gross of Bollywood films

BoxofficeIndia has demerit that it is not giving overseas reports of films on a regular basis. It will show figues only once or twice,So u cannot include BoxofficeIndia figures. Also,When u wil see infobox of Holywood films, they have worldwide gross. So try to include worldwide gross which includes domestic gross(nett gross in India+entertainment tax) and overseas gross. --Ghajinidetails (talk) 20:16, 21 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

We don't use fluffy, hyperbolic labels like "blockbuster", "super hit", "flop", "mega flop", "failure", or "all-time super duper blockbuster megahit status!"
