Proposed deletion of Rita Asfour

edit

The article Rita Asfour has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Rita Asfour

edit

Hey, Ggae1885! Here is the policy for proving an artist is notable enough to include in Wikipedia: WP:NARTIST. An exhibit or an art show isn't enough; work needs to be held in permanent collections. Or there needs to be significant coverage in unaffiliated sources; the PBS documentary would probably be one of those. We'd likely need at least two others, and we'd want them to be not all from her hometown. —valereee (talk) 19:23, 21 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Autobiography

edit

Hello, Ggae1885. Judging from your user page, and the fact that you have claimed File:Rita Asfour Self Portrait.jpg as "own work", I suspect that you are writing about yourself. Please read autobiography to understand why this is strongly discouraged, and the difficulties you are likely to have completing it. If you meet Wikipedia's criteria for notability (which none of the references currently in your draft contribute to, because they are not independent of you, except for the Wikipedia reference, which is not reliable - see CIRCULAR), then eventually somebody will write an article about you. It's also worth looking at an article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing. --ColinFine (talk) 20:55, 26 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Communicating

edit

Communications can happen at Teahouse, at your Talk page and at the Talk pages of other editors. Articles also have talk pages. Drafts have Talk pages, but this rarely get any content, mostly because people looking at drafts don't use the Talk pages.

Regarding a sentence on your userpage

edit

in which you state that all material you contribute here is "owned by you" is false. Per the notice displayed when editing pages, "By saving changes, you agree to the Terms of Use and agree to release your contribution under the CC BY-SA 3.0 and GFDL licenses." Your thread has been archived

Hi Ggae1885! The thread you created at the Wikipedia:Teahouse, Declaration, has been archived because there was no discussion for a few days (usually at least two days, and sometimes four or more). You can still find the archived discussion here. If you have any additional questions that weren't answered then, please feel free to create a new thread.

The archival was done by Lowercase sigmabot III, and this notification was delivered by Muninnbot, both automated accounts. You can opt out of future notifications by placing {{bots|deny=Muninnbot}} here on your user talk page. Muninnbot (talk) 19:01, 4 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Biography NOT Autobiography

edit

The Draft:Rita Asfour is a BIOGRAPHY not an AUTOBIOGRAPHY. Does this make a difference in the editorial comments?

Welcome!

edit

Hello, Ggae1885, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Draft:Rita Asfour, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:31, 10 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ggae1885. I've added the above template because it contains links to pages that I think you might find helpful. I realize you're still working on a draft, but it might be a good idea for still take a look at these pages for reference because the information they contain might help you to avoid future problems. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:33, 10 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
